Covergirl (Wicked Pictures) Review

Review :

Wicked Pictures releases quality DVDs every month, the latest being 'Hell on Heels', Brad Armstrong's all-girl feature starring Jenna Jameson and Nikki Tyler. Considering this, I wonder why they bothered with this unremarkable 1994 video starring the "most beautiful (but dull) woman in porn" Chasey Lain..

She stars (appropriately) as a supermodel, and a photo-shoot for an ad campaign is the first scene we are treated with in this movie. As she follows the directions of the photographer we get to see her nice legs, spellbinding eyes and big breasts. Speaking of breasts, it is a shame that the need for silicone apparently overwhelmed her at some point in her life, since it just doesn't look right! On a body that's so perfect, these melons look definitely out of place..

Kelly Nichols has a non-sex cameo as her agent, who brings up the main plot point in the next scene : The agency is being blackmailed by a person who sent them an incriminating videotape that shows Chasey shooting a porn flick (more on that later).. something that would definitely look out of place on her resumé! Oh well, she was young and needed the money I guess (actually, I think they even manage to include those exact words at one point!) .

From this point on, the movie revolves around Chasey trying to get to this guy, looking up several acquaintances of his in the process, including a porn director, and Krysti Lynn as his old girlfriend..

The first sex scene takes place on a porn set, and shows Nicole London having sex with Alex Sanders and Jonathan Morgan.. none of these 3 is one of my favourites and the scene is a rather boring rehash of every combination (except DP) the 3 can think of. A facial from both guys separately rounds off this unremarkable fuck.

Krysti Lynn and Chasey get down with each other, and this leads to a pretty good lez scene including 69 and lots of muff munching.. though Chasey obviously isn't very much into the fairer sex, this is still a hot coupling, with lots of good shots of both women going at it, and they even seem to come several times.

After having been given a clue by Krysti (Ms. Lain's arguments have definitely been convincing!) , Chasey is off to Tom Byron's abode.. First, Tommy-boy is shown boning Heather Lee (an unacttractive brunette with fake tits) though, and after a spot of 69, he plunges right into her tight pussy before ending the scene with a bit of anal-doggie and his juice on her ass cheeks.

In the next scene we finally get to see the evidence of Chasey's incriminating past, which turns out to be a threeway scene with Marc Wallice, Debi Diamond and her.. This is definitely a good scene and a long one at that.. it would be futile to describe every position since there are too many! FRom DP with dildo and penis (on Debi) through facesitting, BJ and doggie-style we get a lot of strokeable material.. Debi is a bit too nasty for me though: watch her pulling back Marc's ponytail until his face becomes red! There even are 2 (weak) facials for Debi.. unfortunately Chasey doesn't get any jizz on her at all!

Finally Peter North pays a quick visit to Chasey's house and, surprise, HE is the mystery man who tries to bring her down.. turns out he needs to money to film a documentary on the Crimean war! Apparently he just wants to leave "this goddamn town" and for that he needs 2 million bucks.

She convinces him otherwise by giving him what he always wanted and guess what that is.. the ensuing sex scene is again pretty good, and Chasey finally shows us some heat in her fucking (I guess it takes Peter North to do that after all) Chasey is quite the skilled cocksucker, and after a sequence of cunnilingus we are treated to (vaginal) doggie and reverse cowgirl, before ending with a voluminous (of course!) shot on her belly (booh! I guess there's no sense in hoping for a Chasey facial..) The plot ends with a double spin on the "who blackmailed who" routine and then the film ends without any credits whatsoever...

As you may have noticed, the plot is about the stupidest thing I have ever witnessed.. while at first I though that maybe it was meant as a parody, I just gave up that idea after 10 minutes. Screenwriter Martin Brimmer (who usually is above average) manages to create a story that is both almost non-existent and completely ridiculous at the same time! Peter North's explanation for his acts in his big dialogue scene with Chasey is a definite laugh riot.

All in all, this video may have a few good sex scenes (though there just isn't ENOUGH of it), but you can get other (and far better) Chasey vehicles on video and DVD without having to resort to this disappointing (and severely overpriced!) feature.

The DVD :

The picture quality is well-transfered from the original video source, but that doesn't help since it still looks like a home video to me. Production values are down all the way (this is 1994 after all).. The sound (stereo) is okay, people who want to hear the sexual sounds will be pleased that the music doesn't mar their enjoyment of the scenes. To top it off, there are almost no extras.. we get 4 previews of other titles (Flashpoint, PornoGothic, Crazed and Double Feature!), a nice bio section and some info on Wicked Pictures and their award-laden history.
