Countdown (Centaur) Review

Those who don’t own an all-region DVD player can be extremely grateful to Chip Daniel’s and his Centaur studio for releasing Cazzo’s “Bei Anruf Thom” (“Thom Barron Calling”) in the U.S. It is a stunning film, made all the more so by first-time director Sven Jungbluth who shows a mastery that many long-time directors fail to achieve.

The film opens with young, sexy Franco Potente getting a phone call from Thom Barron (well-known to American audiences). Thom tells Franco that if he wants to get it on he must meet him in a certain men’s room in two hours. So Franco begins his cross-town odyssey to link up with Thom and his big dick. But—like Homer’s hero—Franco encounters many distractions and hindrances along the way.

Problems begin when skinhead Eduardo Cortez snatches his cell phone. Following after the thief, Franco watches Eduardo succumb to his master Jake Corwin. Eduardo has pierced ears, nose, nipples, tongue, and cock. He sucks his master’s toes and lies back to get fucked. With Jake and Eduardo lost in their climax, Franco manages to reclaim his cell phone and start out again.

He runs (literally) into Willi Wonder (who is just that) and follows him into a beauty salon where Max Schneider is thrusting his shaved cock into the cunt of the beautician. As Willi makes his presence known, Max abandons the female to have a go at Willi’s mouth and ass. The beautician is left to fuck herself with a hairbrush as she watches these two hunks get it on.

Hunger gets the better of Franco and he stops by a sandwich shop. There he sees the incredibly handsome hirsute Darius Akin behind the counter. (In their brochure Centaur incorrectly identifies Darius as Tim Vinzent who appears later on in the film. My thanks to Cazzo films for supplying me with the correct name for this stunning performer.) Franco left his cell phone in the sandwich shop so returns to retrieve it. When he arrives back at the shop Darius is totally naked and beating off. Transfixed Franco watches this awesome beauty stroke his cock to climax. Darius drops his load in some of the food, stirs it in, and offers some on his finger to Franco who readily accepts it.

I would have forgotten all about meeting Thom, but Franco doesn’t and hurries on his way only to be waylaid by a couple of hunks who usher him into a dance bar where Wolff (another well-known performer) is the center of attention among four mega-hung black studs. (One of these guys has a schlong that makes a horse’s cock seem puny.) After these guys have enjoyed Wolff’s orifices and drop their loads on him, Franco sets out again. But he hasn’t gone far when he is struck by a tranquilizer dart, and dragged away.

He comes to to find himself strapped to a hospital gurney. He is about to be the next victim of a big-dicked psychopath who at present is doing things with another bound captive. Fortunately for Franco, the psycho tires himself out and falls asleep. The other captive frees himself and releases Franco.

Back on the street Franco gets caught up in a group going into an art gallery. As ultra-sophisticates stand around chatting, a nude well-hung man is sucking the cock of Christoph Scharff, a spectacular beauty who is also naked. Soon Christoph is getting fucked. The gallery patrons only give curious casual glances to this activity, but when both men climax there is polite applause. (What great satire!)

Stopping to relive himself in a toilet, Franco finds the real Tim Vinzent and another stud holding a young guy between them as they rape his ass and face.

Sprinting to make the final blocks to his destination, Franco is struck down by a taxi. Two guys were making out in the back seat of the cab and the driver’s eyes were definitely not on the road. Sex over, they open the trunk and Franco jumps out to continue his journey. But he arrives too late. Christoph Scharff—the beauty from the art gallery—has found Franco’s cell phone and completed the assignation with Thom. When Franco arrives Christoph is awash in Thom’s cum.

BUT…a miracle! Time rushes back. This time Franco is not struck by the car and arrives in time. Not only is Thom there, but Christoph is as well and Franco has the double delight of getting it on with both of them.

This is an astounding debut for director Sven Jungbluth with nine spectacular scenes and a cast of 21 hot studs. Special mention must also be made of the masterful editing. Editing can make or break a film and this is perhaps the best editing I have seen in a porn film. COUNTDOWN (as it is known in this country) is one of the finest films I have seen. Look for it to win many awards and don’t miss seeing this one!
