Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2 is a multi-part epic adult movie, which means that you need to pick up more than one volume to get the complete story. This epic series is composed of three movies, Confessions of a Sinful Nun, Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2: The Rise of Mona, and an as-of-yet unnamed third and final movie. Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2 ends with the words “to be continued.” For movies such as this, I wish companies would release the movie as one volume with a higher price so you can get the full movie or at least note on the box for the release all the volumes necessary for the entire movie.

There aren't that many times in the mainstream movie industry when one can say that the sequel may just be better than the original. The times one can state this in the adult movie industry are even less when usually sequels exist in name only, trying to cash in again on the money that a previous movie made without having any relation to said movie. This being said, Ricky Greenwood's Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2: The Rise of Mona may just be better than the original movie.

Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2 continues the story of Mother Superior's (Nina Hartley) unorthodox convent. The Diocese is looking to reform the convent and weed out the sisters' unholy love for each other. Lily has been sent away, and Sister Mona (Mona Wales) has been sent to Mother Joan's (Magdalene St. Michaels) abbey to be put back on the right spiritual path. Sister Mary (Serene Siren) starts to question Mother Joan's harsh treatment of Sister Mona. Meanwhile, back at Mother Superior's convent, Mother Superior is dying and is grooming Sister Charlotte (Charlotte Stokely) to take over the convent.

The one issue that this reviewer had with Confessions of a Sinful Nun was that the story seemed light for the amount of work that went into the movie. Co-writers Ricky Greenwood and Maddy Barton have corrected that one issue in Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2 with a great rich plot present in the movie. In some ways, Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2 is like other middle movies in three-part epics. While the story is propelled forward, the story doesn't start nor end in this volume, and the other two movies are required for the full story arc. Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2 is a dramatic movie, which does an excellent job with character development.

Like the first movie, Ricky Greenwood has packed Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2 with a stellar cast. As the title implies, Mona Wales takes on the driving role of this movie with her portrayal of Sister Mona, who was more of an ancillary character in the original movie. Mona Wales does an excellent job portraying the conflicted nature of Sister Mona. Adult film legend Nina Hartley, as always, does a beautiful job as Mother Superior. The rest of the cast all give great performances as well bringing their characters to life.

Ricky Greenwood has done an excellent job with the locations used in the movie. Every place used looks authentic and supports the cast's outstanding performances. The costuming and make-up are top notch as well. Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2 never looks cheap or rushed. James Avalon has done a beautiful job capturing the movie. Boris Novak's score seals the deal for Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2.

Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2 doesn't disappoint. In this reviewer's opinion, the movie is superior to the original and a must-see for plotted all-girl adult movies.

Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2 was shot digitally and is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 2.35:1 letterboxed to 1.78:1 in 1080p. The image quality of Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2 is gorgeous with bright, vibrant colors and a beautifully crisp picture. There aren't any noticeable defects in the picture quality.

Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2 is presented with an English Stereo MPEG AAC audio track. There aren't any noticeable issues with sound quality. The dialog in the movie is clear and easy to understand at all times.

Two years ago, Ricky Greenwood came out of nowhere and took the adult movie industry by storm with Confessions of a Sinful Nun. After several other adult blockbusters, Ricky Greenwood has returned to the series that put him on the map for the second entry of his sinful nun trilogy. Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2: The Rise of Sister Mona is stronger than the original with a more robust story and better character development, and of course plenty of hot sex scenes. Confessions of a Sinful Nun 2 shouldn't be missed.
