Initial Expectations: I’ve been impressed with most of what I’ve seen from Nick Orleans. After seeing a bonus scene for this on another Adam & Eve DVD, I’ve got extremely high expectations.

Initial Reaction: It’s a very well done adult movie.

Who Should Watch It : Fans of plot and artistic sex

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants crystal clear video, nastier sex, or a light plot

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is very clear and well balanced, but there is a fair amount of dubbing during the sex scenes. The video is presented in non-anamorphic widescreen, and has a very soft feel to much of it. It blends together full color footage with monochrome scenes, and plays quite a bit with the lighting as well.

Music: The music has a nice fuck-beat to it, and is very well balanced with the rest of the audio.

Menus: The main menu has some nice animation to give it a good first impression. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of the scene and a chapter number. It also lets you jump directly to the pop shot.

The Feature: After extremely successful but bigoted businessman Steven St. Croix gets in a car accident, he finds that he’s lost his sight. When Steven’s wife leaves him for her lawyer, one of her conditions of the divorce is that he finally see a specialist to help him. Ian Daniels lines Steven up with Dee and Mia Smiles, without letting Steven know that they’re of color, and he slowly falls for both of them. The only thing that could screw things up is a new experimental technique that could grant Steven his sight one time for just a few minutes, just long enough to learn the truth about Mia and Dee.

Gina Ryder and Nikita Denise start the feature, as well as their night planning on going bar hopping, but change their minds when they learn that Ian Daniels has never had a lap dance. Gina starts out treating him, with the action quickly turning to kissing and caressing between the three of them. Since she’s obviously a giver by jumping in right away, Gina gets treated next before Ian gets some oral action from the girls. Nikita gets the first fuck, however, and takes it missionary style while playing with Gina. Gina gets her turn for some missionary work next, after Nikita and Ian take time to get her a little more oral attention, before Nikita gets her ass poked. Gina also gets one last poke doggie style, but the camera never lets you know which hole she takes it in before the girls share an impressive facial. It’s a very hot scene with great chemistry and energy, where everybody seems to really be into everybody else. I haven’t seen the rest of this feature yet, but after this scene, it’s really rose on my list of movies to watch.

Nurse Caroline Pierce drops down to take care of Mr. Marcus next to a bandaged up and barely conscious Steven St. Croix. She gives Marcus some great eye contact and lets him slap her great pierced titties with his cock. Caroline adds a nice bit of teasing to the scene by laying back and playing with herself inches away from Marcus’ cock, letting him stroke it but never put it in, before going back to sucking it until he pops on her face. This is a great oral scene that shows that every blowjob scene doesn’t have to feel like the same old thing.

Jasmine also lets Dillion bang her backdoor before stroking himself onto her lingerie. It’s a pretty hot scene with great chemistry. Dillion and Jasmine seem to play off each other extremely well, and make turn out a winner of a scene here. My only complaint about it is that the camerawork seemed extremely limited by the widescreen format. It seemed to rely on close-ups to show things, and never felt very comfortable.

After plenty of teasing around the hosue, Dee’s massage for Steven St. Croix turns into a handjob. Mia Smiles catches them, and quietly watches while diddling herself after Dee tells her to come watch but to not let Steven know. Dee lets Mia join in and the end and suck Steven when he’s close to popping, and they trade sucking and stroking until Dee can’t resist any longer and joins Mia in sucking him. They finish things up by Dee directing Steven’s nutty goodness onto Mia’s tits. It’s a very good scene with great chemistry and more than a little bit of fun.

Lee Stone takes on Venus, who’s wearing only a wedding veil and white stockings, after trying the experimental drug to allow him to see her. She takes him into her throat before letting him tongue her twat. Lee fucks her pussy with Venus bent nearly in half in a chair before fucking each of her holes from behind. He pokes her ass missionary style as well before decorating her stomach with his guy goo. It’s a pretty good scene with nice art direction as well. The lighting is really unique here, and goes from way overlit to way underlit all in black and white. It’s a very nice effect with Lee supposedly being blind.

Flick Shagwell, Dee, and Mia Smiles hook up in the penultimate scene. Flick diddles herself a little while watching Mia work on Dee before the others decide a little diddling isn’t the worst idea in the world. Mia dons a strap-on for a little further fun, and after the others suck her fake cock, she fucks Dee from behind while Flick gets a little tongue action and diddles herself watching them. Finally, Mia does her best job imitating a guy popping in the air while the others giggle about it. It’s a very good scene that’s a heck of a lot of fun. The girls all look to be having a great time in the scene, and it makes this one of the best all girl scenes I’ve watched in a long time.

Finally, Mia Smiles and Dee team up on Steven St. Croix. Mia sits on Steven’s face while they team up to suck his cock, and they continue to swap around so that everybody gets a nice oral warmup before Dee takes the first ride on Steven’s shaft. Steven dips his wick in Mia as well before giving her an impressive pop on her stomach. Afterwards they all finish things up kissing. It’s a nice finish to the movie, and has very nice energy and excellent chemistry.

Color Blind is another nice winner from Nick Orleans. It has his typical style, including a little slow motion, but a bit more playing with the lighting. It often works well with the scenes, but there’s also plenty of times when the camera doesn’t seem quite comfortable with the widescreen format. It’s often at slightly odd angles that don’t show a lot, and goes for close-ups a bit more than I like. Despite the minor misgivings I had with the camera work, most of the scenes are quite hot. The stars are obviously into each other in every scene, and don’t look to hold much of anything back from the start with Gina Ryder and Nikita Denise taking on Ian Daniels right up to Steven St. Croix taking on Dee and Mia Smiles. Color Blind also works in a nicely done plot. Yes, since it’s porn it has a few holes and moves quickly, but it also moves in a believable and likable fashion. You see the holes, but never really wonder how things got from one place to the other, just like in most current television shows. Color Blind is a very nicely done couples movie with lots of hot sex.

Extras: Bios with a little information and a photo are included for Dee, Venus, Nikita Denise, Gina Ryder, Jasmine Klein, Flick Shagwell, Steven St. Croix, Lee Stone, and Ian Daniels. Trailers are included for Photogenic, Taste of a Woman, Whispering Hearts, and Pin-Up Girls. The photo gallery contains about twenty two photos which are presented in a thumbnail format. When you select the photo it blows up to near full screen size and lets you see the photo in its entirety. There’s also web links, two bonus scenes, and a behind the scenes featurette.

The first bonus scene features Chloe and Lee Stone and comes from The Edge. Chloe finds Lee in an adult theater and gives a handjob to while she tells him to watch the movie. Finally, there’s a behind the scenes featurette which lasts about fifteen minutes. It nicely collects the scenes and photo galleries being shot and some of the backstage antics. There’s also plenty of fun captions thrown in throughout the featurette. Although something felt a little off, it’s still a nicely done behind the scenes featurette that gives a fun look at the making of the movie.

Overall: Currently most of the titles in Adam & Eve’s Premium Collection can be found online for between $14 and $22 with a few stores offering it near the low end. If you’re a fan of artistic sex, this is a great DVD at the low end. There’s plenty of hot sex and nice extras, but the video style might not be for everybody.

Note to Adam & Eve: Nice job here! It’s great to see you supporting the widescreen format, and I hope that in the future you’ll take Nick Orleans to the anamorphic level as you have with Nicholas Steele.
