Initial Expectations: I don’t know why, but I’m expecting a pretty good and extremely hot movie.

Initial Reaction: It’s pretty typical Nicholas Steele.

Who Should Watch It : Fans of Nicholas Steele and couples.

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who likes very hardcore sex or a well developed plot.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is slightly unbalanced and some of the dialogue is hard to understand. The video is slightly grainy and has some pixelation in spots. It’s better than VHS but not a whole lot.

Music: Once again, Saint composed the music for this Nicholas Steele movie. I really like Saint’s music but this time it didn’t seem quite as original.

The Feature: I’m starting to think of Nicholas Steele as the master of the loosely connected porno. Normally, I don’t care for the typical porno where the sex is connected by very loose strings, but Mr. Steele does such a good job with the sex scenes that I normally don’t care about the strings. In this case, however, there’s a lot pointing to those strings and very little done with them. Dale DaBone plays the collector the movie is about. He was badly burned by love in the past so he’s decided that the only things worth having now are material possessions. If he can’t buy it, he doesn’t need it. His assistant, Keri Windsor, sees how shallow his life is and cares enough about him to try and get him to realize the error of his ways while at the same time entering him in the elite collector’s competition. Rather than focusing on Dale coming to realize how empty his life is, most of the movie focuses on the other collector’s in the competition and others around Dale. He does come to realize his mistake, but it’s never really made clear why.

The first scene pairs Dale DaBone with Daniella Rush on Dale’s jaguar. Daniella is a very hot import with real tits and dark hair. It’s a good scene to start the movie out with and very hot as well. The scene is drawn out nicely and uses the slow-motion that Mr. Steele is so fond of through much of the scene. Of course this means some dubbing, but the slow motion is done well enough that you don’t really notice it. The lighting fits the overall feel of the scene having adding a few shadows to it. Unlike most scenes, the shadows adds to the feel of the scene rather than detracting from it as much of the garage (for lack of a better word) was fairly dark. Daniella finishes off the scene very nicely by taking Dale’s love juice across her pretty face.

The second scene pairs Amanda Rain, a fellow collector who’s studying Dale, with her partner Evan Stone. Amanda is cute with a great set of very obviously real tits. I really hope that she has the confidence to keep them rather than having them altered. She and Evan have great chemistry together that helps out the scene a lot. My only complaint about the scene is that as cute as Amanda is, she’s got a lot of ass zits. It’s still a hot scene, but it would have been better if the camera hadn’t caught her blemished behind so well.

Mia Smiles and Monique DeMoan distract collector Mark Davis in the third scene. This was probably my favorite scene in the movie and definitely the nastiest. The three M’s have very good chemistry in the scene and the ladies have nice teamwork for a little bit of the blowjob. Monique does a good job and takes the only anal in the movie. Mia shows herself to be a bit of a nasty girl by rimming not just Monique but Mark as well. She also appears to love having her tits spanked hard. She takes almost all of Mark’s cum across her face and leaves Monique to clean up the leftovers. It’s a very hot scene and one that I had to watch again as soon as I finished the rest of the movie.

Keri Windsor takes on Chelsea Blue after telling Dale she quits, making him realize how empty his life is. I haven’t seen Chelsea before, but Keri has been on my good list for quite a while now. Keri and Chelsea have great chemistry together in this scene and they’re both quite aggressive which makes for a fun scene. My main complaint about this scene is Keri’s implants. Normally they don’t look too bad but she goes down for Chelsea to pile driver with a dildo and the scars look really bad and are very noticeable. It’s not a pretty picture which is sad because she’s a very pretty lady. The other problem I have is this scene doesn’t seem to have a real ending. It just fades out. I know that closure on a lesbian scene can be tricky, but this is the worst I’ve seen it handled.

After meeting with Randy Spears we see him go inside and have sex with Kaylynn, presumably his wife. Kaylin is obviously all natural but very average looking. Most of the scene takes place in the shower and is surprisingly romantic. After a little while they move out into the bathroom. It’s a very romantic scene that’s probably the most couples friendly in the movie. Unfortunately I didn’t find it that hot but it was definitely very warm.

Finally, Dale picks up Bianca Jordan, his true love. This was one of the problems I had with the movie. This was pretty much the first time we’ve seen Bianca and now she and Dale are madly in love and having sex outside on his red Porsche. It seemed to come completely out of the blue. It’s a nice scene for both her and Dale but otherwise it’s a very warm scene. It is hot enough, however, to make me want to see a little more of Bianca. She’s a nice looking lady and seems to know what she’s doing very well. Dale also does his normal good job. With that, the movie ends, also feeling a little cut off.

I probably went into The Collector with higher expectations than I should have. I really like Nicholas Steele’s style, and adding Keri Windsor to the mix raised my expectations even higher. The story is good, although not developed as well as it should have been. For having the movie be about him, Dale DaBone is in very little of it. The sex is still better than average, but it isn’t quite as strong as in some of Mr. Steele’s other movies, such as Serenade or The Garden Party .

Overall: Currently, The Collector can be found online for between $10 (on sale) and $23 with all but one store offering it for about $20 on up. If you’re a fan of Nicholas Steele, you’re going to enjoy it. If not, you might want to rent it first as I think some of his others are a lot better. It’s a very good couples movie, but some of the technical aspects aren’t as good as in some of his other movies. The extras are a nice touch and do add a little to the overall DVD.

Note to Adam & Eve: It’s nice to see a few extras on your Premium Collection releases but the technical qualities lacked a little on this one. I know that it isn’t really a plot driven porno, but it did detract from the overall movie.
