Initial Expectations: After a string of stick-fests like On the Loose, I look forward to Roy Karch’s movies even less than trips to the dentist.
Initial Reaction: I’m beginning to think of Roy Karch’s movies like I do a case of the crabs. Sure it gives you some action in the right area, but it’s not the way you really want it.
Who Should Watch It : Anybody having trouble sleeping
Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting a lot of hot sex
Audio /Video Quality: Although there’s a few minor background noises, the audio is pretty clear and nicely balanced. The video is fairly average. It’s clear, but there’s some minor shadow problems and noticeably uneven lighting in every scene.
Music: The music is pretty typical, to the point that you’ve probably heard most of it before. Although it’s nicely balanced in a few places, most of it is on the loud side.
Menus: The menus are pretty standard. There’s a little of the movie in the background for the main menu, and the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of the scene and a scene number.
The Feature: Kylie Ireland is running a brothel in her and Steve Hatcher’s house. Steve doesn’t like it, but Kylie doesn’t really want to talk about it because she likes the money. There’s also something about neighbors, but if you try to figure out much of a plot here you’re probably going to hurt yourself.
Kylie Ireland and Steve Hatcher start things out during the opening credits. It’s not really a full scene, but not really not a scene either. They fuck in slow motion as the camera captures it all with close-ups as the credits roll by, and then talk a little when they finish. It’s a horrible way to start a movie, especially if you’re a fan of the talent here. I love the idea of starting a porno watching people fuck, but this just gives you a bad tease.
Samantha Sterlyng and Ian Daniels give the feature it’s first real scene, with Samantha leading the way with a very enthusiastic blowjob and straddling Ian’s face to he can return the favor. They move on with a bit of standing doggie, reverse cowgirl, and missionary before Ian blows his ball butter on Samantha’s tits. It’s a surprisingly good scene, and just might be the best scene I’ve watched from Roy Karch.
Alex Foxe takes on Chris Cannon in the second scene. They exchange oral favors before working through a couple common positions and giving it a facial finish. Sadly, this one’s a disappointment almost from the get go. I’m sure part of this is due to following Samantha’s energetic performance, but Chris Cannon seemed dead from the ankles up throughout most of the scene. Alex seems to do what she can to try and save things, but overdoes things a little much and ends up not helping much at all.
T. J. Hart takes advantage of a drunk Steve Hatcher when he stumbles upon her masturbating in the middle scene. They exchange oral favors before moving right into the mandatory reverse cowgirl. They finish things up with a little missionary action before Steve decorates T. J.’s stomach. It’s an okay scene, but nothing special. T. J. Hart’s been showing a lot of promise recently, so this one ended up another disappointment.
Elizabeth X fantasizes about a little night loving by the pool with cocksman Joel Lawrence in the penultimate scene. It starts out slightly rough, with Joel giving Elizabeth’s implanted tits some oral attention. Elizabeth moves things along with an impressive sloppy blowjob before laying back in a chair for Joel to lick and finger her pussy. They work through a bit of missionary and reverse cowgirl before finishing things up in missionary and Elizabeth taking Joel’s ball blast from her tits up to her face. It all starts out as a very good scene, but by the end deteriorates into an average-at-best disappointment. I had always been impressed with Elizabeth X in the past, but she looked much rougher here than I remembered. I also didn’t remember her as being implanted, which wasn’t the best shock either.
Finally, Kylie Ireland hooks up with neighbor Mickey G. They exchange oral favors, with Kylie giving one of her normal amazing blowjobs, before moving through some missionary work and doggie fucking. Kylie finally finishes things with a good facial. It’s an okay scene, which is disappointing with stars like this.
Roy Karch continues his string of disappointments with Cirlce of Lust. The story is comes and goes, but has very little to tie one scene to the next and doesn’t even seem to move in a straight line. The editing in the sex leaves just as much to be desired. Each segment is so long that every scene got boring and I almost fell asleep within the first half hour of the movie! It also has a lot of odd camera angles, too many long close-ups, and even segments that appear to be repeated within scenes. Karch appears like he’s trying to be artistic many times throughout the feature, but fails every time and instead ends up making things look juvenile. Worst of all, it appears that Roy Karch things couples sex means boring sex, which to me is just plain insulting. Skip Circle of Lust!
Extras: Trailers are included for The Puppeteer, Sex Island, and Naked Hollywood 1: Faking It. Bios are included for Kyle Ireland, T. J. Hart, Elizabeth X, Alex Foxe, Mickey G., Steve Hatcher, Ian Daniels, and Chris Cannon. Each bio incluecs a picture of the star and a little info. There’s also a photo gallery with about eighteen nice looking snapshots, as well as web links.
Themes: Straight and masturbation
Raincoat Factor: High
Overall: Currently, Circle of Lust can be found online for between $13 and $22 with most stores offering it at the high end. If you think for more than thirty seconds about paying anywhere close to $20 for this one, you shouldn’t be allowed to reproduce. Despite having a decent transfer and average extras, the movie is so boring that it’s almost a complete waste of time.
Note to Adam & Eve: Whatever debt you owed Roy Karch, please consider it paid and give him the boot!
