Christoph Clark's Obsession Review

An eye-catching release such as a Christoph Clark double dvd deserves a review - especially when the cover and trailer feature an assembly of chicks so hot that you think you're in for the one of the great gangbang finales in porn history.

Sadly, pornutopia won't be found here. This is a movie that unoriginally tracks the sexual re-education of the still very alluring Tiffany Minx. But really, why take someone so experienced and engaging as Ms Minx and pretend she's an amateur?

This movie arrived through my letter box the same day as Rocco's 'Dark Side of Suzan' and it's impossible for me not to compare the two. Dark Side was spontaneous, effortless and stunning - the best Rocco film i've seen - simply for the way it was honest in capturing the sexuality of its performers.

The point is that surely you'd make a film about one woman's prowess - if anything - rather than get her to be something she isn't. I've not seen Katsumi's Dirty Deeds yet, but I imagine that likewise, it stikes the nail on the head a little better than this.

The build up to Tiffany's DP is cute. Especially when she spreads her legs and masterbates eagerly to her sex therapist - the amusing Steve Holmes who does a good job of playing our host - much the way he does in CC's Hardball 15.

But, where is the 'Obsession'?

What we get is several quite average scenes. The women are generally hot, the sex is hard and well captured, but the chemistry never gets off the ground. Of the Evil Angel stable of directors, I have found Christoph the one i most associate with irresistable and intense fucking. Some of this seems to have been lost in Clark's half American cast films, as well as in the ailing Hardball series.

I now find his best moments are found in the Euro Angels re-releases. Maybe this is because the aim is something less epic, and Clark is being truer to his sexual inclinations as a director.

Katsumi herself is peripheral in Obsession, with just one sex scene at the end. The film showcases the talents of Katy Caro who is improving as an agressive and beautiful performer by the movie.

The scene with Mandy Bright and Katy Caro is again, a little disjointed.

The final scene starts with several hot women tied up and seemingly ready to have an orgy. Instead, the movie takes a change of direction and simply has them perform a quick few blowjobs before the movie hits its anti-climax. There are many examples of guys just jerking in a chicks face in this movie with no build-up or anything, and it just doesn't come-off.

I shall write a review of Dark Side of Suzan shortly, but frankly i don't want to give the game away on that one - rather i'm trying to re-direct people to it and give a heads-up on how good i found it.

Suffice to say that if you're left with an either or choice, you should buy that movie rather than this one.
