Chemistry 4: The Orgy Edition Review

I really love the experience of watching any of the volumes in Tristan Taormino's "Chemistry" series, I have to fully admit. In my opinion, she takes the established gonzo genre, which is my preferred genre, and fully incorporates what would normally be behind-the-scenes elements into a wonderfully cohesive and endearing whole. And the "BTS" elements really go above and beyond what we normally see in those DVD features, which often includes some light Q&A and following the girls & guys as they get ready in hair and make-up, the photo setups and generally lounging around. What I love about "Chemistry" is the extended amount of time the performers are allowed to relax in one environment, surrounded by one group of people for the duration and what we as viewers can watch and enjoy is the genuine sense of comfort and ease displayed, whether at rest or at play.

Perhaps some porn fans and casual viewers are not interested in the performers simply as unique individuals. I love learning about their backgrounds, their likes and dislikes, hopes and fears and seeing what kind of sense of humor they have. This then can inform and enhance the experience of viewing their sexual performances. Those who I find immediately sexy and arousing at first sight grow to be even more alluring when I discover what makes them laugh and what they love or don't love about their unique career, all fostered by normal conversations. As stated by others in the cast, Evan Stone is hilarious and it's great to admire Penny Flame as the charming, effervescent woman she is in both sexual and non-sexual situations. It’s marvelous to witness parts of their individual personalities through normal interactions and then how this might shift during sex, what other personality traits emerge during the action and how they reflect on this afterwards, all things I look forward to in my own intimate relationships.

The opening scene takes places by the pool, as Penny had been sunning herself, Even Stone stopped by to check out the pool, but hey… when any man is faced with the choice between a pool and Penny Flame, who the hell could not dive into Penny right off the bat? He goes to town on her orally before she does the same for him, at which point we also get the hilarious off-camera comment that "We haven't even explained the house rules yet!". Too funny, there's just no stopping the chemistry once it starts (hah!) and again, I love the spontaneity of the action in this series, the naturalness of it, the feeling of being a silent, invisible resident of the house during the 36 hours and really enjoying the company of this group. One almost wishes this could be a weekly series, like your favorite TV show, and you could invite them into your home more often!

The "perv cam" is awesome when Sinnamon and Penny trade oral pleasures by the pool and big meeting with the cast turns into an orgy without warning, the newly bonded cast enjoying each other… except Even and Tyler enjoying each other, although that would be an interesting twist for the next volume! By the way, Tyler Knight is such a charming, intelligent and easygoing guy that if I were gay or a woman, I would totally want to do him – he even makes Sinnamon purr like a cat during sex. I need to learn that technique!

The inclusion of Tantra teachers and experts Mark Michaels & Patricia Johnson is brilliant idea, as it makes this volume an even more valuable viewing experience, adding a level of education and surprising depth to film. Everyone is riveted as Mark & Patricia demonstrate some of the Tantra technique (clothes on), leading to a hilarious punchline later as Evan laments the fact that he didn't get to watch civilians have sex! At the other end of the spectrum is an emotional, pensive Penny, who is seriously moved by what she watched, the displays of love between Mark & Patricia, stating that she hopes to achieve the same in her own private relationships. It's a very lovely, honest and real scene.

There is such a wealth of winning gems in "Chemistry 4" that I could write subsequent reviews on it for weeks to come. There is the absurd randomness of Evan Stone in a tiger suit and the fact that this serves as Johnny Sins' introduction to him. There is the gorgeous sight of watching both Adrianna and Sinnamon fucking in RCG and CG, with fantastic, I-wish-it-was-me-giving-it-to-her anal for Adrianna. It deduced that Sinnamon has an inexhaustible amount of both energy and orgasms.

Disc Two contains highlights such as an intense, perky and sensual fuck between Johnny and Penny, both of whom had been looking forward to and Evan Stone providing a lesson in how he shaves his various parts, above and below, without any hint of shame and thus that much more of a guffaw and his reward is Adrianna tonguing his freshly washed and shorn ass. More anal action for Adrianna follows, happily for her, Evan and the viewer. "The Danish Suicide" is an amazingly hot position. There is the silver butt plug and Evan's talking penis, Richard Dickford. And once the final orgy scene ends, the cast celebrates Johnny cumming all over Sinnamon with a exuberant round of bed-jumping.

But wait, there's more! A copious amount of bonus material includes deleted scenes, separate photo gallery featurettes for the guys and girls, set to music (how can I get the girls' gallery to run as my laptop screensaver, I wonder?), plus another photo gallery featuring the sex, trailers for Tristan's other Vivid DVD releases, an additional scene with Sinnamon and Tyler, where Sinnamon first masturbates using the OhMiBod and is then assisted by Tyler, toys for pussy and ass as well as anal in doggie and spoon.

I think the cast and overall tone of this volume achieves both a sweetness that is not cloying and a charming ease that is effortless. Great work from everyone involved, there is chemistry evident both in front and behind the camera, making this is a keeper for the interviews, the sex and everything in between.
