The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Digital Playground and Robby D. normally make very enjoyable movies, and I'm not expecting anything to change about that here.

Initial Reaction: There's not as much here as one would normally expect for a double DVD release, but the sex is hot and the movie's a lot of fun.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects show a lot of care. The audio is clear and well balanced and I didn't notice a single blemish. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks just as good. The camera work is very smooth, the lighting is well done, and the picture is free of grain.

Music: There's a little minor music here and there, but that's about it. It helps with some of the setups, but then nicely fades out for the sex.

Menus: The main menu works together a little minor animation with a bit of the boxcover and a still for a surprisingly good first impression. The chapter menu is surprisingly generic, and just lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number that doesn't correspond to the chapter numbers in the movie.

The Feature

In the locker room, the cheerleading team has decided to play a little truth or dare. Maybe it's going to be truth about who fucked who, or maybe it's going to be a dare to eat ass or suck titty for fifteen seconds. All one knows for sure is that this is a whole new kind of ball game.

If anything, it almost looks like they're competing on who can wear Memphis out first. This scene worked extremely well for me.

This is another very fun and very hot scene.

This is a pretty good scene. There's great chemistry in each of the couples, but the scene fell a little short for my tastes due to none of the couples interacting too much with any of the other couples and the couples staying the same throughout the scene instead of mixing it up. There is some very nice energy and vocals all around that kept the scene going well as well as a fun feeling to the scene. This is a pretty good scene to end the first DVD, but it's also the weakest scene in the movie.

Lighter brunette Brianna chats with new brunette cheerleader Stoya about how much she's going to like their school as well as how she thinks Stoya should get it on with Manuel while in study hall. Stoya tries telling her that she's engaged with a boyfriend, but soon after they're all getting it on. Manuel and Stoya start out playing with Brianna before Manuel turns himself loose on Stoya's holes orally with a little help from Brianna. This is another great scene. The opening has some great humor and Manuel and the girls play it up nicely. The chemistry is very strong from start to finish and each of the girls take it in the ass extremely well. This is another very hot scene that was every bit as hot as I hoped with Brianna and Stoya taking on Manuel.

After a few games and stories, the girls swarm Stoya, stripping her down and starting to kiss her as well as each other. The girls work each other over with tongues and fingers, and mix in plenty of ass slaps and squeals as they play. The mix things up almost constantly moving around so that everybody seems to get a taste of everyone else.

This is a very enjoyable final scene. The girls do a great job mixing things up amongst the group, and nobody seems to stay doing anybody else for more than a couple minutes before things get mixed up again. All of the girls look to be having a great time, and there's plenty of smiles all around throughout the scene. This is a great scene to end the movie with that's a complete mess of flesh.

Cheerleaders is a very enjoyable fuck flick. Robby D. does a very good job behind the camera as well as keeping the entire movie light and fun. The 'truth or dare' locker room format works very well to set up the scenes without ever making things too serious. The Digital Playground girls all do a great job through the movie, and are very nicely joined by the rest of the cast with Brianna Banks, Alexis Texas, and Shawna Lenee really standing out. The only scene that had a hard time keeping up was the detention scene with Shay Jordan, Alexis Texas, and Camryn Kiss taking on Tommy Gunn, Johnny Sins, and James Deen, and I think that one fell short mostly because it didn't quite click with my tastes on group scenes. The only other problem I can have with Cheerleaders is one of expectations. This is a 2 DVD set, and with a multiple DVD set I can't help but expect more. With a movie that lasts just over an hour and a half and a behind the scenes featurette that doesn't even make fifteen minutes, there's not even three hours of unique footage here. Digital Playground has released quite a few movies running around three hours on a single DVD, and those releases haven't looked any weaker than this one regarding their technical aspects. With Cheerleaders prominently stating that it's a ”2 Disc DVD Set” on its cover I don't think I'm alone in expecting something much more, especially when there's a dozen girls listed on the back cover. Cheerleaders is a very fun and very hot release, but don't let the fact that it's spread out over two DVDs make you expect anything beyond the standard Digital Playground release.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery can be viewed either manually or as a slide show lasting a little under four minutes with about six seconds per very nice looking snapshot or full screen photo. Trailers are included for Pirates 2, Island Fever 4, Jack’s Teen America: Mission 17, Shay: All American Girl, Jana: Sexual Freak 4, Image, Pirates, and the Virtual Sex With... series. There's also weblinks, a behind the scenes featurette, and bios for Jesse Jane, Shay Jordan, Adrianna Lynn, Stoya, and Sophia Santi.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts just under fifteen minutes. After a few shots around the set, Jesse chats with Jamal about him filling in for her and then talks about her team spirit. After a few words with Alexis Texas' ass and Adrianna Lynn, it moves on with Shawna, Adrianna, and Robby enjoying his work setting up the scene. There's a bit more fun around the set before Shay takes over with the BTS camera to chat with Camryn. There's also a few comments and a little fun with Sophia Santi as well as a bit of time with Stoya and Brianna. This is a nice behind the scenes featurette. You get some of the usual Digital Playground goofiness that makes most of their behind the scenes featurettes fun as well as some fun little interviews with the girls. This is a nice featurette that adds to the overall DVD.

Currently, many of Digital Playground’s releases can be found online for between about $18 and $28 with a few stores offering them for under $20. This one's well worth the money. There might not be as much as you expect with a double DVD release, but the movie's a lot of fun and the sex is very hot. The technical aspects show a lot of care and the extras were given a little effort. This is a very enjoyable release that I can't help but recommend.

Note to Digital Playground: If you're going to put out multiple DVD releases, please give the viewer more than you do on your single DVD releases.
