Initial Expectations: Smash looks like they’ve really pulled out the stops here, and Mike Metropolis has been making some great movies for them lately. I’m going into this one with really high expectations!

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are okay. The audio varies a bit, with a fair amount of it being a little hollow and balance problems throughout the movie. It’s more than a little annoying, and I don’t think I made it through a single scene without adjusting the volume at least a couple times. The video is pretty good. It’s very nicely lit with a few shadows and barely had any camera motion to interfere with things. It has a slightly soft look, which might turn some off, but I didn’t mind it at all.

Music: There’s a bit of music during the setups but not during the sex. It tends to be a little loud and hurt the setups a little for me.

Menus: The main menu is very nicely done with some very well done animation that gives a very good first impression. The chapter menu is also nicely done and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of the scene and the name of the lovely lady in the scene. You’re then given a second menu to decide where in the scene you want to go sexually.

The problem with the scene is Kris Slater, or more to the point the lack of Kris Slater in the scene. With the setup and how great a scene Chelsea normally seems to turn out, I had a lot of hope for a double penetration here. Leaving Kris out of most of the scene except for jerking himself and getting his knob gobbled left a bit of a void in the scene. This is a very good scene with plenty of heat, but it felt like it had the potential to be even better.

Cheating Housewives is another winner from Mike Metropolis and Smash. They’ve kept the simple vignette theme that’s been working nicely in their other movies, and once again have put together a great cast. Although they didn’t all work to the same level for me, I would have a very hard time trying to pick which scene was the best here because they’re all so nicely done. There’s a nice variety to the scenes, and even when the setups seem like they’re going to repeat with things like the hubby watching the wife cheat, they throw in a little something to help it stand apart. The only thing that really held the movie back for me was the technical aspects, as the sound and lighting seemed a bit sloppy and did interfere with my enjoyment of the movie. I can understand a hollow sound here and there with some of the exotic locations that many people are shooting in currently, but there’s no reason I should have been constantly adjusting the volume because the banter between the women and their partners or “husbands” was so much quieter than the action. Although it might not seem like it, there is a compliment hidden in there because it means that the banter was good enough that I really wanted to hear it rather than just letting it go. Cheating Housewives might be my favorite Mike Metropolis movie so far, and I hope that he and Smash are planning a sequel to it.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts over two and a half minutes with about seven seconds per great looking snapshot. There’s also deleted scenes, a behind the scenes featurette, and weblinks.

The deleted scenes last eleven minutes. After a little more of Vicky getting fucked by Mark, Roxanne and Mark work each other over orally. Cherie and Scott get in a little more fucking before Rayveness gives Christian a little show and lets him fuck her. Finally, Chelsea and Joel get in a little more oral and fucking. It’s a nice collection of cut footage and definitely worth checking out if you enjoyed the action in the movie.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts almost five minutes. Vicky starts things out giving a quick talk with the camera and poses for a few stills. Afterwards she talks about how much fun she had in her scene as well as having her real life husband right there. Roxanne is next, and poses for a few photos with a face full of cum before Chelsea talks with the camera about cheating on her hubby every day with his knowledge and wanting to do some really nasty stuff on the set. It’s a limited behind the scenes featurette, but still adds very nicely to the overall package here.

Currently, many Smash DVDs can be found online for between $14 and $24 with most stores offering them in the $20 range. Smash has put out yet another release that’s well worth the money here. The sex is smoking hot and has some very fun setups. Although there’s some good effort put into the extras, the technical aspects are much weaker than I normally expect from Smash. This is a very hot movie on a nicely done DVD.

Note to Smash Pictures: Please watch the technical aspects a little more. It currently seems to be the biggest weakness in your DVDs (and most of the time it isn’t much of a weakness).
