Initial Expectations: Despite frequently having misleading covers, Penthouse has been putting out some nice movies and DVDs that show some nice care. I've really started to look forward to their releases, and am looking forward to this one as well.

Initial Reaction: It's a fun little couples porno.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I didn't notice any background noises. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen, and also looks good. It's well lit and doesn't have any noticeable camera motion, but it is a little on the softer side.

Music: The music is well balanced with the rest of the audio and extremely cheesy in the good way. The music varies a little for most of the scenes, and fits the moods very well in addition to helping to give the movie a fun feeling.

False Advertising: The cover lists a running time of 116 Min while the movie barely makes 80 min. Yes, when one adds in the trailers, photo galleries, and bonus scene that's probably about right, and yes, I've often compared this to going to a restaurant and having them add the weight of the potato, veggies, and other things on the plate into the advertised 12 oz. steak. Looking at this, that just doesn't seem right for a lot of people who watch other Penthouse releases. It's probably more like getting an 8 oz. steak and having the other 4 oz. be leftovers. It doesn't matter if they're leftovers from when you had a fantastic meal there earlier that week or not, it's still not what you're made to believe you're getting. I'm deducting a half point from the overall score because of this.

Menus: The main menu blends a few stills with a little cheesy animation for a first impression that's actually fun and pretty good. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a clip of each scene along with the name of the ladies in it.

The Feature

When his wife Lindsey doesn't answer her cell phone while at a tennis lesson, Steven's sure she's cheating. After a little cheating story and action from Katie, he sets out to catch her in the act. Little does he know that he might not be enlisting the most trustworthy of people to help him.

Scene 1A Alexis Love and Mario Rossi

While his wife's away, Mairo's visited by smoking hot black babe Alexis, who's in a pair of sexy heels as well as a little black dress. There's a completely different feeling between the scenes along with different music, and with how completely different the two scenes are they just don't fit. Merging two scenes rarely works for me, but this is one of the worst offenders I've seen in quite a while.

Scene 1B Katie Morgan and Steven St. Croix

As Katie tells the story, Steven gets so worked up that he needs a little attention that Katie lets him know he might get if she gets hers first. Steven gives her some great eyes as he eats her on the desk, and after they strip down a bit goes right to fucking her missionary style before she can give him head. There's no question that they're completely into each other, and there are several times where they show a great familiarity with each other and what works for them. This is a great scene and it can't even be held back by a lousy start.

Scene 2 Lindsey Meadows and Alan Stafford

Steven sends Alan to keep an eye on his cute brunette wife Lindsey thinking that she's cheating on him, not realizing that she's cheating on him with Alan. They decide to get it on again on Steven's dime, and quickly strip down so Alan can suck her tits and lick her pussy. Scene 3 Katie Morgan and Natasha Nice

This is a pretty good scene. There's good chemistry between Lindsey and Mario and the scene moves along at a good pace. I was a bit worried when it started already into the action, but the action mixes things up nice enough that I was still able to get into it. This is a decent scene, but there was a little something missing for me that I just can't put my finger on.

Cheating Affairs is a fun little fuck flick. The plot is light and amusing, and although it has many of your typical porno plot problems, there's such a strong feeling throughout the movie that it's just trying to be light, fluffy, and fun that it's hard to get down on it because of it. There are a couple of fun little twists in it, and there's enough good stuff in it that it had me smiling a few times watching it. The sex is pretty good, and although both of Katie Morgan's scenes shine the rest of the sex doesn't make it too far past the average mark. It's all very couples friendly, and is nicely captured as well as moving along at a good pace. The biggest problem is in the opening scene where Alexis Love's scene with Mario Rossi is cut together with Katie Morgan taking on Steven St. Croix, as Alexis and Mario can't come close to keeping up with the chemistry and energy Katie and Steven put out. Cheating Affairs is a light fluffy little porn comedy, and although the sex isn't anything too special it's all enjoyable enough to be worth checking out when you want a lighter couples movie.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts nearly five and three quarter minutes with about five seconds per good looking snapshot. There's also a bonus scene with an accompanying photo gallery and internet information.

Bonus Scene Faith Leon, Mario Rossi, and Randy Spears

Currently, many Penthouse DVDs can be found online for between about $17 and $25 with several stores offering them for around $20. Aim low or rent this one first. The plot's light and fun, but the sex doesn't get too far past the average mark. The technical aspects are nicely done, and although there's a little effort put into the extras it isn't too much. This is a decent DVD.

Note to Penthouse: If you're going to advertise a running time on your covers, please make it one that's meaningful rather than one that includes a bunch of things people may not care about.
