Synopsis:
This is a sampler disc put out by CD Girls which gives clips from some of their DVDs and from videos available online at their site.

Audio/Video:
CD Girls Free DVD 1 is presented with an English 2.0 Stereo track which works well for the material being presented. The sound is rather raw and unrefined but with the amateur look and feel of the clips, the sound fits right in. The dialog is clear and easy to hear at all times during the film. Private Performance hasn't included any foreign language tracks or any subtitle options for the film.

CD Girls Free DVD 1 is presented in the full screen aspect ratio of 1.33:1, which appears to be the original aspect ratio for the various video clips. The video looks clean and detailed but when there is a lot of action on the screen small pixels are evident. This is far from the worst I have seen from a DVD and some viewers probably won't even notice them at all. Other than that, there is no issues with the video quality. The video looks amateurish, but like the audio, that adds to the film instead of detracting. The color levels are correctly set.

Special Features:
In addition to the scene segments, this disc has two additional features. There is a slide show that contains 24 stills each on their own chapter. The player automatically goes from one chapter to the next so you don't have to keep pressing buttons. Upon surprise when you pop this disc into your DVD-ROM, up pops a local page which allows you to either redeem your free online access that comes with the disc or to view the online catalog of all Private Performance's CD Girls DVD releases.

Disc Design/Navigation:
The disc is designed with simple non-animated menus that are functional for the intended purpose, but are rather rudimentary in design. A little more work would have made the menus look nicer and be slightly more functional. From the scene menu, you can pick from the 16 scenes available. Each scene is identified by the name of the performers, the type of scene and a still frame image from the scene. There is no time code for the film encoded on the disc. Overall, this disc resembles a lot of studios first attempts at DVD releases before they learn the ins and outs of them.

General Review:
CD Girls Free DVD 1 is a sampler DVD from Private Performance to show the consumer their CD Girls DVD line. Unlike other samplers, for instance Private's Private Presents DVD Sampler series, this disc doesn't contain any complete scenes. Instead each scene runs for roughly 5 minutes, give or take a few seconds each. Their ending point doesn't always fall at a good moment in the scene though, which can be disappointing for the viewer. I know that this is supposed to cause the viewer to wish to purchase the original film, but it detracts from the overall disc by making it a very limited use item. The sampler would have far more value if it contained a few complete scenes, even if there were two or three of them along with the additional scene samples.

As far as the scenes themselves, they are enjoyable. The females look nice and don't have the appearance of your standard porn star, which adds to the appeal of the film. The two men present on the disc don't look to bad either. The scenes have an amateur feel to them, but were created with good equipment causing them to look great while having the amateur feel. The sex acts are rather tame, but that doesn't equal a lack of heat. The performers appear to be having fun at all times. The sexual themes in the film are vaginal sex with blow jobs, pussy eating (male to female, female to female), vaginal toy use, anilingus (male to female), sybian, lesbianism, vaginal toy use, anal beads, mechanical toys, eggs, and female masturbation. For viewers that care about condom use, there are no condoms used in the film.

The sets are very basic, some are just standard rooms and others actually have some simple set design to them. Given the amateur feel of the film, the sets work well for the overall film. The only other complaint that I have about the disc is the uneven mixture of scenes available. There are only two male/female scenes, three female/female scenes and all the rest are solo play, even though there are sometimes multiple participants in the scene. The overall disc would have worked far better with a more even set of scenes.

Scene Synopsis:
None of the scenes appear to be complete, they all run roughly five minutes each, give or take a few seconds, and there are no pop shots. Most just suddenly end during the action a few look like they might have been stopped at a decent stopping point.

The first scene, from an online video, gives us Jassie and Randy and starts out with some pussy eating and anilingus before going into the blow job. The scene then concludes with some vaginal sex. The second scene, from Introducing Jayne, brings us Jayne and Flip and starts out with a blow job. The scene then goes into some pussy eating before going into the vaginal sex to conclude the scene. The third scene, from an online video, features five unknown females. Three of them ride sybians and the other two just control the machines. The fourth scene, from an online video, brings us Sylvia Saint and Isabella Camille and consists of pussy eating and vaginal toy use.

The fifth scene, from 6 Girl Orgy, has Gauge, Ashley, Cindy, Lisa, Nikki, and Shannon involved in some girl on girl action that consists of pussy eating and vaginal toy use. The sixth scene, from Wildest Orgasms volume 1, brings us Brittany Skye and Chloe and consists of solo vaginal toy use, one of them using a mechanical device. The seventh scene, from Girls + Girls volume 1, gives us Catrina for some solo action. The scene starts out with some female masturbation before going into some vaginal toy use. Then there is a combination of a vaginal toy and anal beads before the use of eggs (a vaginal and anal toy) to end the scene. The eighth scene, from an online video, features Nyxse for some solo play. She starts out by masturbating before going into some vaginal toy use. She finishes the scene with the use of what is referred to as a “drilldo” which is a dildo attached to a power drill.

The ninth scene, from Sybian Amateurs volume 2, features Colleen and consists of her using the sybian. The thirteenth scene, from Sybian Amateurs volume 1, features Kelly for some solo play with a mechanical device. Parting Thoughts:
As a sampler disc, CD Girls Free DVD 1 is alright, it gives the viewer a good sense of the products available from Private Performance in the CD Girls line, but that is all the disc does. Since the disc doesn't contain any complete scenes, it doesn't contain any long lasting value. If you get the disc for free and pay minimal shipping it might be worth your money if you are interested in the CD Girls line. But I wouldn't pay money for it or a high shipping price.
