Canyon Climbers Review

At first glance I thought of this purchase as a shot in the dark. By the price tag alone my expectations were low, especially as Vivid comps go! I knew Christy would be there, but I wondered how many times she would not? And of the times she did appear, how many of them would be scenes I already own? Turns out that this DVD is awesome!

21 has always been my lucky number, but I really lucked out on 12/21 when I got 21 full Christy Canyon scenes on this DVD and no filler! Turns out that it was a 2 in 1 set (2/1, I'm seeing a pattern!) that also comes with a 2nd bonus disc which is an actual full feature (I don't know if everyone gets the same one, but mine was "The Ultimate Dayton Raines")!! How lucky can 21 be??

The Bad: The A/V quality is typical Vivid (sort of fuzzy, like a straight VHS transfer) but there's not much hope in "Remasters" being issued. The only other problem with "Canyon Climbers" is the annoying promos when you first play the DVD, you can't skip over them to start the show! They also re-appear sprinkled between scenes, but you CAN skip over them to the next clip. Also, no bonus material other than a photo gallery, but I'm not gonna cry about that - it's a porno!

The Good: One nice thing about this DVD was that the original movie titles and co-star names are given before each scene, and unlike some Vivid DVD's, skipping chapters does not bring you to the menu where you must choose the next scene! Of the 21 clips here, 7 double from "Deep Inside Christy Canyon", however "DICC" only has 12 Christy scenes and suffers that annoying menu problem, not to mention a 13th scene that Christy's not even in! Very good to see that she is indeed in every clip here!

In the end it's highly recommended! The price is right, and even if it were more it would still be worth it! Don't forget that you get 2 DVD's for the price of 1! If you don't have "DICC" get this instead, if you do have "DICC" you may want to replace it! It also helps eliminate the need for some Vivid features that were terrible like "Comeback". If you just love Christy, this is a great Vivid years comp! 4 stars overall, mostly because of the grainy quality, but also because the Vivid years (in my opinion) were not her best, but there were some high points!

I set the worth price at $21, that's a buck a clip, plus a second movie for free! Now that I know what is here, I would have paid that much for it! You should be able to find it easily for under $10, and to a Christy fan it's quite a deal! I hope this review has been helpful to you all, enjoy!!
