The Short Story

Initial Expectations: I’ve been very impressed with this budget Evil Angel line, and am going in with very high expectations!

Initial Reaction: It’s another great addition to Evil Angel’s budget line!

Who Should Watch It : Fans of group sex and chemistry or anybody who’s a fan of John “Buttman” Stagliano or who hasn’t seen him but is curious about him

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody in prison. They’re there to be punished, not rewarded with good stuff like this!

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is very clear and well balanced. Although the second scene is a huge orgy, you can always hear the people on screen best, but the others remain in the background just enough to give you the feeling of a huge group. The video varies a bit, but for the age of the features looks pretty good. The first scene doesn’t look quite as good as the second, and is a bit soft and has a light green bar that appears along the left side of the screen. It also has a few shadow problems, but nothing that interferes too much. The second scene is very well lit, but does have some noticeable grain. This is to be expected as the original Face Dance movies (okay, it’s actually one huge movie released as two), were shot on film. Film almost always has a bit of grain, and for the age of the feature and the lower budget all adult films have compared to mainstream releases, it looks great.

Music: The first scene doesn’t have any music, but the second scene has some decent early nineties rock playing in the background for part of the scene. It really helps the atmosphere of the scene and is handled in a way that makes it seem like it’s playing on the radio in the room.

Menus: The menus are nicely done. The main menu has a little animation to help it give a good first impression. The chapter menu is even more impressive, as it gives you the names of the girls in the scene, a small clip of the scene, and even a shot of the boxcover of the feature the scene originally came from!

The Feature

Buttman’s Award Winning Orgies collects two of John Stagliano’s best orgies from the mid-nineties, which just happened to also win the best group sex scene the year they were released. Rather than just releasing the standard compilation by cutting out scenes from the original movie and plopping them together to form a new feature, John Stagliano actually went back and re-edited both of these scenes to put in some of the footage he had to originally cut due to time constraints. There isn’t any introduction to either of the scenes, but John does pop in to let you know about the extra footage briefly during the first scene.

Scene 1 - Zara Whites, Silver Forest, Rocco Siffredi, and John “Buttman” Stagliano

The first orgy comes from the excellent Buttman’s European Vacation. Rocco and Zara start getting it on in the elevator on the way up to John’s room, and then add Angela to the mix in the hotel hallway. Once they get into the hotel room the girls immediately go after Rocco’s cock orally before he strips them down. Silver licks Zara’s pussy briefly before guiding Rocco into it, and moves on to sit on Zara’s face so both Zara and Rocco can tongue her while they fuck. This is an amazing scene that’s every bit as good as I remembered it. There’s great chemistry, great energy, and most importantly a fun spirit which makes this one of the best threesomes I’ve ever watched. There’s never any doubt as to whether or not Rocco and the girls are completely into each other, and the smiles and laughs go throughout the entire scene. That doesn’t mean that this is a soft and laid back scene, as Rocco gives his normal great performance. In today’s environment a lot of people question the award winning scenes, movies, and performers, but this is one scene where there’s no doubt as to whether or not it’s a winner!

Scene 2 - Rocco Siffredi, Angel Ash, Chrissy Ann, Rick Smears, Sierra, Sheila Stone, Tom Byron, Tiffany Mynx, and Woody Long

The second orgy comes from the amazing Face Dance Part 1. Rocco is kidnaped and brought back to John’s house. They pull off the blindfold to let Rocco see that he’s surrounded by fantastic female butts before John welcomes him and introduces him to each of the ladies, as well as the guys who are sitting around. John offers to let Rocco be one of the judges in his Best Butt Contest, and of course Rocco doesn’t turn him down! Each of the guys are blindfolded so they can judge the asses rather than the girls, and each of the girls rub their ass against each guy’s face so he can feel and taste it. Of course, the girls also play to John as he makes his way around the room to capture the competition, and after the competition the blindfolds come off and it turns into a huge orgy. The guys and gals work their way around so that nobody is ever left out, and keep things going very well. Finally, the guys pull out and eat give a nice pop on the ass or pussy of the girl they’re with.

This is another amazing scene that leaves no doubt as to why the scene won an award and why John Stagliano is considered one of the best directors in adult films. The tease that sets up the orgy is excellent! It’s drawn out, but never feels drawn out too far. It builds on itself nicely so that when the actual sex starts you’re completely into the scene. The sex works the same way. In most orgies, about the time you get into a couple the camera moves on, which I think is probably my biggest problem watching them. Here, due to the tease, you’re into the entire scene so much that it never seems like small groups. This is a great scene that comes from a great movie, and one that every fan of John Stagliano owes to themselves to check out.

Buttman’s Award Winning Orgies is an excellent compilation. Like most other compilations released in the nineties, there’s nothing else added such as interviews with the stars or anything to let you know where the scenes come from. This always irks me, but Evil Angel cared enough about it to do that elsewhere on the DVD, so I’m not going to complain about it here! Unlike those other compilations, however, John Stalgiano went back into the scenes to add in extra footage. These were great scenes before the extra footage, and the extra care only makes them better. It also makes this release seem even more worthwhile as people who watched the original movies can get something more than what they remember. It’s this kind of care, combined with some excellent sex of course, which makes Buttman’s Award Winning Orgies a great release that’s worth checking out even if you’ve seen the original scenes.

For a budget release, Evil Angel put some decent care into their extras.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Evil Angel’s compilations can be found online for between about $14 and $30 with a few stores offering them near the low end. Once again, Evil Angel makes their budget line money well spent! Both scenes here are extremely hot and have plenty of replay value. The technical aspects are pretty good for when the movies were shot, but there isn’t a whole lot for extras. If you’re a fan of group sex this DVD deserves a spot on your shelf!

Note to John Stagliano / Evil Angel: It’s great to see you making your compilations something a little special by adding in the extra footage. It’s also great to see you putting them out at a price where people who are curious about what you have to offer can check you out at a lower price. Keep up the great work!
