Synopsis:
After creating an expensive flop, Bruce Seven fires John “Buttman” Stagliano. While Tianna “Buttwoman” is working on her next big film, John goes off in search of footage that will get him back his job.

Audio/Video:
Buttman vs Buttwoman is presented with an English 2.0 Mono track, which works fine for the material being presented here. The sound is a little raw sounding, part of which appears to be done on purpose, part of just appears to be due to the older equipment the film was made with. There is no problem with the dialog and the film sounds good. Evil Angel hasn't included any foreign language tracks or subtitle options for the feature film.

Buttman vs Buttwoman is presented in the full screen aspect ratio of 1.33:1, which is the original aspect ratio for the film. The video quality presented here isn't up to the normal standards of a DVD from Evil Angel. Then again this film is also thirteen years old. There are small video glitches from time to time throughout the film. There is also a slight haloing on bright objects at certain points during the course of the film. Other than this the video is fine and none of the listed problems should bother any viewers at all.

Special Features:
As this is an older title getting its DVD release, the extras here aren't up to the usual quality of an Evil Angel disc. There is the fetish menu with links to tease, spanking, toys, pussy licking, blow jobs, rimming, anal and cumshots in the scenes. There are Evil Angel filmographies on the disc for Bionca, Cassidy, Heidi Kat, and Tianna. There is an extensive text biography of John Stagliano. There is a text piece on the awards this film has won. There is the usual cast list by scene and there is a photo gallery with 40 stills that you flip through.

Disc Design/Navigation:
The disc is designed with simple animated menus with music. There are twelve chapters available from the chapter menu. Each one is identified by the female stars in the scene and the chapter range on the disc that the chapter goes to. There are 41 chapter stops within the feature film itself. There is a time code encoded on the disc for the feature film.

General Review:
Buttman vs Buttwoman, made prior to Evil Angel splitting out of Elegant Angel is a collaboration between two great porn directors, the late Bruce Seven and John “Buttman” Stagliano. The film is a hodgepodge of genres all mixed together, feature film, all sex, gonzo and amateur, that when blended in this manner all work beautifully together creating a unique film.

The main story behind the film is Tianna, Buttwoman, is making films for Bruce Seven and shooting up the sales chart. Whilst Bruce fires John Stagliano, Buttman, because his last film was a financial disaster. While Buttwoman is going around casting her new film, Buttman is going around trying to shoot footage to prove to Bruce that he still has it.

The film alternates scenes so the styles flow together and the story works though the film. Bruce Seven appears to have handled directing Tianna's scenes and John Stagliano appears to have directed the scenes that he shot. To integrate the styles right off the bat, the beginning of the first scene is shot by both, keeping the styles in character, which sets up the way the rest of the film will be shot and is a great beginning presentation.

Tianna's scenes are shot mostly in the standard all sex fashion whereas John's scenes are shot in gonzo fashion. The camera work for Tianna's scenes is excellent with great shots giving a well rounded feel to those scenes. The camera work for John's scenes has a more amateur feel to it. I think this was done intentionally to make John's camera an extension of his character as The Adventures of Buttman, made three years prior, has a far more professional feel to it. Whether or not it was intentional, it ends up working. For John's scenes they have used the sound off the camera instead of a directional microphone, which picks up the wind and has imperfections. This also helps establish the camera as part of John's character.

An enjoyable story and good camera work alone don't make a great adult film though. The sex scenes have to work as well. And they do in this film. The sex scenes have the same light hearted feel to them as the rest of the film and everyone appears to be having a great time. Fans of John's work will be happy to know all of his scenes include extensive ass teasing. John also manages to fit in what appears to be an amateur scene with Suzie and Alex Matthews. The sexual themes in the film are vaginal and anal sex with lesbianism, pussy eating, anilingus, pussy fingering, blow jobs, male masturbation, female masturbation, anal fingering, vaginal toy use, anal toy use, and amateur. For viewers that care about condom use, there are no condoms used in the film.

The end result is a fun, light hearted, humourous film with good looking cast members and sex scenes that are sure not to disappoint. Then again, did you really expect differently coming from the talents of Bruce Seven and John Stagliano? I thought not. The only real disappointment to the film is there is no conclusion to the story, which appears to continue in Buttman's Revenge.
