Buttman At Nudes A Poppin' 9 Review

Initial Expectations: I’ve really enjoyed this series so far, and go into this one with my usual high expectations.

Initial Reaction: It’s every bit as good as the rest of the series.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody who loves strippers and the female form

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants actual sex

Audio /Video Quality: The audio and video are very similar to what you’d get with a home movie. Although I normally consider this a bad thing, everything here is done with hand cameras and on the movie, so I’m not sure how one could get it much better. There’s plenty of background noises, which is to be expected with how much is going on, but you can also normally hear the stars the Johns and Tricia pretty well. Since the lighting is completely natural, you get some shadows and some colors bleached out, but normally it’s darn good looking. Oddly, roughly the last forty minutes of the feature, as well as some of the extra footage, is plagued by bad pixelation, remnants, and other corruption that gets in the way fairly often. It was bad enough that my DVD-ROM refused to play the feature from 1:41:34 on, but my standalone player was able to with a few problems. Thankfully, I haven’t read any other reviews which pointed out this problem, so I think I might have gotten a bad DVD.

Music: The music is a mix of pretty much anything you might hear at a strip-club. It’s balance changes throughout the feature, riding above the rest of the audio at some points and sliding down to the background in others. It all feels very natural throughout almost the entire feature, which is amazing because all of the music is put into the feature afterwards. John Stagliano’s editing skills have frequently impressed me, but the job he does with the music and audio in this series is really amazing!

Menus: As usual, Evil Angel has put some nice effort into their menus. The main menu is nicely animated and the chapter menu lets you jump to specific performers and spots in the competition.

The Feature: The Evil Angel Trio of John “Buttman” Stagliano, Tricia Devereaux, and Big John head to the Ponderosa Sun Club in Indiana for Nudes A Poppin’, one of the biggest strip competitions in the good ole USA. The feature nicely mixes together clips of the competition, including Miss Nude Galaxy, Miss Nude Entertainer (Feature Dancers), Miss Nude Go-Go, Rising Star, Best Buns, Best Breasts, and Crowd Pleasure, with the Evil Angel Trio making their way through the contest.

I really don’t know what to say about this feature as the Buttman at Nudes-a-Poppin’ series is the most consistent series I’ve seen so far. You get an incredible mix of the stage shows and girls posing, and even get a little of Tricia in the mix. The stage shows aren’t just girls dancing around poles either. You get plenty of costumes and props, and every girl here knows just how to work it.

Although the girls give the movie its substance, it’s heart comes from John Stagliano, Big John, and Tricia Devereaux. You can’t doubt their love of the female form as you watch this feature, and they make a point to talk to many of the girls as they make their way around the competition so you get to see a bit of the girls as real people rather than just as eye candy. No, I’m not talking about finding out their hobbies, how they’re turned on by thunderstorms and romantic walks on the beach, and that kinda crap. You get a feeling that what you see is really a big part of these girls. They love their bodies and are very confident of them. Although the focus on Buttman at Nudes A Poppin’ 9 is what’s on the outside, the heart of the movie shows that once again, the most important sex organ is right there between your ears where nobody can see it.

I’ll readily admit that Buttman at Nudes A Poppin’ 9 isn’t for everybody. If you’re looking for your typical adult movie with lots of sex, or even your typical Buttman movie for that matter, you’re looking in the wrong place here. This movie is completely dedicated to worshiping the female form without ever seeing how many guys the girl can fit inside her. Yes, it has the same love of females as most of us have come to know from Buttman movies, but there isn’t so much as a single masturbation scene shown throughout the entire movie. Instead, you get John, Tricia, and Big John making their way around an outdoor stripping competition and occasionally talking to the girls. As they make their way, their cameras absorb as much of the female body as they possibly can. If you love the female body to this point, you’re going to be very, very happy with Buttman at Nudes A Poppin’ 9, and will probably get tons of replay value out of it. If you need something more, you’re probably going to be bored silly. Buttman at Nudes A Poppin’ 9 isn’t for everybody, but those people it is for will be very happy.

Extras: There’s a few informational screens, that let give you things such as a bio of John Stagliano, website and Nudes A Poppin’ information, and the awards John Stagliano has one for his previous Nudes A Poppin’ movies. There’s also a photo gallery with about thirty six excellent looking snapshots. The main extra, however, is the bonus footage. It starts off with about two and three quarter minutes of John and Tricia talking about Nudes A Poppin’ and what they love about it. There’s also sixty eight minutes of additional footage, which looks every bit as good as the main feature and feels just like it was cut out of the middle of it. You even get a few shots of the guys at Nudes A Poppin’, which I think it’s safe to say came from some of Tricia’s time behind the camera. My only complaint here is that all the extra footage is spread out over two chapters, but I believe Evil Angel changed this in later installments of the series.

Themes: Stripping

Raincoat Factor: Extreme if strippers and the female body are enough to float your boat. If you need actual sex, then it’s going to be very low.

Condom Usage: None

Overall: Currently, most Evil Angel DVDs can be found online for between $18.50 and $30, with most stores offering them around $20. If this sounds at all interesting to you, you might as well go out and buy it. You’ll get to see tons of women and admire them in all their glory. If the movie isn’t enough, you get roughly 50% more of it in the extras, which turns this into a great DVD. Although I had some video problems, I haven’t heard of others having this problem so I wouldn’t worry about it too much.
