Review:
If one defines the term “celebrity” with the broadest possible sweep and includes young women who have met and—allegedly—bedded true celebrities, then “Brittney Jones Confidential” has found its rightful place as a “celebrity” release by Vivid. If one prefers that such a release be a bit more tightly defined, then this distinction gets fairly dicey fairly fast in this case. That said, Ms. Jones was in the tabloid press recently—and this is porn, as well—so a pass is probably in order on this nuance. A pass that isn’t in order, however, is the sexual snooze-fest that this release turns out to be.
Indeed, Brittney is only actually dropped down for some full-on intercourse by her faceless male companion a couple of times—both pretty much occurring on the beds of hotel rooms. A variety of positions are employed, but they’re not always captured that well, and the sex just doesn’t come off as very hot. The loads are always knocked out on Brittney’s tummy, and the enthusiasm isn’t nearly as high as it could be. It kind of seems like the video is being made simply so that a video can be made, as opposed to being something spontaneous and steamy; the Shauna Sand video this is not. There’s also some teasing, stripping and masturbating in a couple of instances, but a lot of this has the sound covered up with music. Other than this, the bulk of the remaining footage consists of often mind-numbingly boring banter in which it really doesn’t appear that Brittney is always super-into the whole endeavor. That’s about it. In fact, if Brittney weren’t such a looker—which she is—this would be a colossal failure of a release.
As a quick note, the Vivid website watermark is present in this one at the bottom-right of the screen—no big deal. Ads play upon inserting the disc, as well—but these can be skipped by hitting the “Menu” button on the remote. In terms of bonus materials, there’s a “Vivid Celeb Sampler” (~30 minutes) that plays through trailers / trailer-like material from other celebrity releases. It should be noted that the vast majority of the material presented under this option isn’t hardcore. This is on the main disc with the feature. Apparently, there is a second disc that’s supposed to go with this release. I wasn’t sent that one from the company, so I’m not formally rating the bonuses up above.
All in all, this release is really only recommendable to those who have a major tabloid-personality fetish. If you’re curious, you might try a rental…but I wouldn’t even go that far.
