NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are fairly average for amateur porn, and a little weak overall. The video has a fair amount of static in the back, and much of the time it's hard to ignore. Beyond the static, the audio is fairly well balanced and clear. The video is presented in the full frame format and looks pretty good. There's a little bit of uneven lighting and a bit of grain throughout the movie.

Watermark Warning: Although the normally don’t bother me much, there is a small and tasteful watermark warning that barely ever moves. This made it very easy to filter out for me, and quite honestly, I didn’t notice it unless I thought about it.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu keeps Shot at Home’s usual style with their logo and a photo from the movie. The chapter menu is also simple, and lets you choose where to go in the movie based on six stills.

The Feature

Brenda and Collin 3 is a decent release. Watching it I was reminded on how there's often two types of sexual performers, those who internalize it and those who externalize it. The externalizers are easy to find in mainstream porn, with the extreme ones screaming their heads off and gyrating as if somebody shoved a motorized hula hoop into one of their orifices and left it running. The internalizers are much more laid back, and although you can tell they enjoy what they're doing, they're often very quiet and just give a few smiles to let you know how much they're enjoying themselves. I really like a performer about halfway in between, but often lean towards the externalizers instead of the internalizers. Why's that important here? Easy, Brenda is a major internalizer. The Bottom Line:

Currently, most of Shot at Home's DVDs can be found on their website for around $20. I'd aim a bit low on this one. Brenda and Collin do a decent job, but the enjoyment seems to be a bit more internal than what I like when watching porn. The technical aspects are also a bit weak due to the static in the background of the audio and the video has a bit of grain. There is, however, some of the usual nice effort Shot at Home puts into their releases. This is a decent amateur release.

Note to Shot at Home: I know that this one wasn't quite my thing, but it's great to see a bit of variety to your releases.
