The Movie |
Breaking Curfew is a well-done atmospheric roughie short subject movie, or vignette depending on how you, the viewer, look at it. Breaking Curfew has a lengthy set-up giving out most of the plot for the short subject before going into the lengthy sex scene, and brief closing for the piece. Honestly, the only real complaint that this reviewer has with Breaking Curfew is that he wishes that the short subject had been fleshed out into a full-fledged feature movie. There was definitely more story to be told and definitely more sex to be had.
The set-up for Breaking Curfew is that Amanda (Adriana Chechik) tries to sneak into her home after breaking curfew while attending a party. She gets knocked out and kidnapped by an unhinged man (Seth Gamble) and wakes up in a barn with Jaime (Sadie Pop), another abductee. The rest of the short subject is the sex scene and the conclusion to everything that is set-up.
First and foremost, the reason that Breaking Curfew works so well is the atmosphere that is created which, itself, becomes a character of the movie. The lighting, the way the movie is shot, and the music all work together to create excellent tension throughout the short subject. The performances from the cast are excellent as well; both Adriana Chechik and Sadie Pop give amazing performances as the terrified captive women. Seth Gamble does a good job as the introverted unhinged captor.
The sex scene is well-done as well. It is tamer than one would generally find in a roughie, however, that fits in with how the plot for the scene goes. If Bree Mills and Craven Moorehead plan to continue making roughies for Pure Taboo, they may want to check out some of the past movies from the now-defunct Avon Theater chain and more contemporary directors like J.P. as they won't always be able to make tamer scenes like this. All three actors and actresses in the sex scene do a great job though.
Breaking Curfew is a well-done short subject movie from Gamma Films' new studio Pure Taboo. The short subject does a great job with the atmosphere in the movie, has a good story, and some amazing actors and actresses in it. The only issue with the short subject movie is that it honestly feels like it should have been a full feature length movie and told the whole story instead of just a small snippet of it. That certainly isn't a reason not to watch Breaking Curfew though. Breaking Curfew is highly recommended for fans of the genre.

Final Thoughts |
Breaking Curfew is a vignette style sex scene with a darker theme to it essentially having enough plot to be a short subject. The plot, the acting, and the sex is all very well done and should please any fan of the genre. Pure Taboo has done an excellent job with their streaming and download edition of Breaking Curfew on PureTaboo.com.
