Bound by Desire: Act 2: Collarded and Kept Well (Smash Pictures) Review

Bound by Desire, Part Two is the story of a handful of women, hot submissives of a neighborhood bondage club who service the kinky desires of their husbands and lovers.

Elexis Monroe and Chanel Preston are the playmates of Evan Stone. Elexis is his slutty neighbor, Chanel his demanding wife. She gets off watching hubby flog and skewer Elexis in a videotaped scene.

Next is Allie Haze. Though she’s out to remake her man into a more “normal” romantic, she inevitably slips into the group’s bondage tentacles. Some Dude wants to put the leather to her in an underground of BDSM delights, though Allie confesses to her friend Casey Calvert that whips and chains don’t do much for her.

Admitting she’s in too deep with Some’s fetishes, Allie says, “It’s weird, but I want him to tie me up and have his way with me.” Their sex scenes are top notch, after all this is Allie Haze, the sweet little housewife next door.

Casey’s desires are a swirl of confusion. The story puts her on hold in Part One but in this new episode Casey upstages Chanel with a sex performance par excellence. A pile driving Evan works to keep up with this screamer in the film’s conclusion.

Bound by Desire is never a yawner sex wise because each scene offers a different interpretation of what it means to be kinky and carnal. Rather than rely on the standard porn formulas—there’s no girl/girl, anal, or DPs—the script maintains a couples-friendly mood with a few technical lessons for bondage enthusiasts.

Though Casey Calvert wants love and trust, Evan reminds her that “women need discipline,” just what her husband (Richie Calhoun) has in mind. Casey yields eventually, embracing ball gags and floggers with a high energy that reflects her true state as a BDSM submissive.

Chanel is demanding but also a prisoner of her own fetish, self-pleasuring while watching tapes of her husband do his subs.

Chanel later insists that Evan persuade Richie to tie her up and whip her. “Have him fuck me,” she says. Chanel cannot find gratification without Evan’s willingness to follow her orders. The scene that follows is Chanel at her best. She loves the flogging and gives back with deep thrusting oral.

But the triumph of this story is Casey Calvert. Her scene with Evan is the best in the film. Manhandled like a rag doll, Casey cries with delight and sucks with the best. There is no doubt that Casey pushes down and dirty to a new level in the neighborhood.

The story deconstructs myths surrounding the bondage fetish. In conversation with Casey Chanel says, “A dom is nothing without a good sub.” The sub is in control. “You’re the one in power,” she continues. “That’s what makes for a wonderful relationship.”

Chanel doesn’t stop there. She reminds Casey that the sub always dictates the play. It’s a moment that sheds light on the fetish for anyone contemplating a taste of bondage in their personal lives.

Casey learns about trust from Allie who lets her know that submissives must trust their play partner completely. “Our safety and well-being, physical and mental,” depend on it, Allie says, but warns, “It’s easier said than done.”

A Jim Powers’ directed movie offers cinematic notables, artistic images that are as good as it gets in adult film.

The best in this DVD involves Teal Conrad, another neighborhood sub. Richie flogs her on a St. Andrew’s Cross in a scene BDSMers will love. Before the sex begins, he releases Teal from her bonds but she quickly grabs the straps above her head, creating the simulation of restraint. An overhead shot focuses on her ecstasy as she looks upward toward the camera. Powers is a master at capturing the female expression during moments of pleasure. When Richie and Teal get rough there’s hair pulling and a flogger wrapped around her neck as a makeshift collar.

During Chanel’s masturbation scene, the computer screen showing Evan and Elexis is on a table beside Casey who is tied spreadeagled to the bed. Chanel is watching one woman being penetrated while fantasizing about the other awaiting her pounding.

There is an irony in this scene that Powers explains with a blended overlay of the women. As Chanel vigorously pleasures herself, Elexis’s rapture on the computer screen appears behind Chanel in an overlay. The shot is taken from Casey’s perspective so that her cuffed foot becomes the predominant image in the montage. Is she stamping out the competition for best community slut?

BDSM as a fetish is interpreted in different ways in this film. Allie and Some cuddle, showing mutual respect. Their sexual escapades are an equally shared kink. They make it work without one demeaning the other, a valuable lesson for bondage novices.

Their scenes are a contrast to what the other couples offer.

Casey is much like a teenaged girl falling in love for the first time with an older more experienced boy. She is uncertain about what love means and how it reconciles with her expectations and her kinks. As the movie winds down, Richie reveals the truth to Casey, “Normal would bore you and you’d be gone.” It’s a sure sign she’s into bondage and sex and a set up for part three of this series.

Chanel and Evan are an older relationship, seeming at times more like an arrangement. Each uses the other for sexual variety. What can we do when we get bored? Put neighborly sex on tape, of course!

When Chanel has her fun with Richie and Evan pounds away at Casey in the final scene, the camera that recorded Elexis in the opening minutes is probably rolling somewhere in the background. Chanel will get to watch and take a look at her rivals for best whore in the cul-de-sac.
