Running Time: 80 min.

Production Date: 8 / 19 / 2002

Director: Roy Karch

Cast: Anna Malle, Taylor St. Clair, Lezley Zen, Tommi Rose, Steve Hatcher, Ian Daniels, Billy Glyde, Kyle Stone, and Chris Cannon

Initial Expectations: Roy Karch’s movies have been kinda like a groin kicking contest. Every now and then you get to go first and win, but more often you’re wincing in pain. The only thing that gives me any hope here is how good Anna Malle did in Karch’s Backstage Passes.

Initial Reaction: It’s better than a lot of what I’ve seen from Roy Karch, but that isn’t saying too much.

Who Should Watch It : Couples who want things very slow and very restrained

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants sex that feels natural and where the performers look like they’re really into it and enjoying themselves

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is pretty clear and decently balanced. There are a few places where it seems a little scratchy, almost as if the microphones were being pushed to their limits. The video has some very slight grain, and is almost always a little on the dark side. I guess the dark lighting can be excused for the movie all taking place at night, but I like to be able to clearly see the performers, which isn’t always possible.

Music: The music has a slow, sexy style and is fairly evenly split between resting nicely in the background and being a bit on the loud side. Surprisingly, it’s not in every scene, which makes it stand out a bit more when it is and isn’t there.

Menus: The main menu is simple, but does have some animation from the movie worked in to let it give a better first impression. The chapter menu is pretty standard, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of the scene and a scene number.

The Feature: Anna Malle is a late night sex talk show host with Kyle Stone as her helper. Not surprisingly, as people listed to Anna, they also fuck a lot. Yes, it’s the same plot as KSEX 106.9, but Roy Karch has never been known for originality.

Taylor St. Clair starts things off talking with Anna before getting busy with boyfriend Chris Cannon, who finishes shaving while Taylor and Anna talk on the phone. Taylor puts Anna on speakerphone so she can hear them get busy, and goes over to attack Chris orally. Chris reciprocates as Taylor sits on the toilet before slowly fucking her on the counter. They move back to the toilet for the mandatory reverse cowgirl before Taylor sucks Chris’ cock cream on her tongue. There isn’t a lot there, but Taylor goes after it like she wants every last drop. It’s a pretty good scene with nice chemistry, but the pacing is a little slow. Taylor does a good enough job that the scene doesn’t get boring, but the scene felt a lot longer than it needed to be.

Ian Daniels calls in next to talk about his girlfriend Samantha Sterlyng’s ass. He puts Samantha on the phone, and as she talks to Anna, works on her bald beaver until she comes. Sam returns the favor with an extremely energetic blowjob, some great trash talking, and even a little titty fucking before getting to the main event. Ian takes care of Sam starting in missionary before moving onto doggie, and goes back to missionary before decorating Samantha’s face and tits. It’s a bit of a mixed scene. Samantha and Ian start things off great and build some nice intensity, but as they fuck the camera moves on to concentrate mostly on close-ups, which ruins much of the heat for me. It’s almost as if Mr. Karch is afraid of people getting into fucking and enjoying it too much.

Tommi Rose starts out playing with herself through her white lingerie while listening to Anna Malle and one of her caller’s stories. After she starts herself out right, Billy Glyde comes in to join her. They give each other a slow oral warmup, with Tommi impressively taking Billy into her throat and all the way down to the base, before Billy moves on to bone Tommi’s twat. They work through the usual missionary and doggie, as well as spooning, before going back to doggie and Billy blowing his ball butter on Tommi’s nice butt. It’s a pretty good scene that feels pretty natural. It was great to see more than two positions used, as well as Tommi taking matters into her own hands at the start of the scene. Thankfully things don’t feel quite as restrained as in some of the other scenes, but still move along slow enough that it’s easy to lose interest in the scene.

For the penultimate scene, Lezley Zen gets busy with Kyle Stone in the studio after listening to the show in a cab on the way back to the studio. Kyle takes Lezley over to the couch where he licks her pussy and pucker as well as vigorously fingering her. She returns the favor with some energetic knob gobbling before riding it reverse cowgirl style and taking it from behind. Lezley and Kyle seem to put some good effort into it, but the cameraman seemed more concerned with making sure we got so close we could see every last wrinkle on Kyle’s cock and balls that you rarely got to see Kyle and Lezley’s facial expressions while fucking. Luckily Lezley has a good mouth on her and put some good vocal effort into the scene as well as taking Kyle’s guy goo in it before swallowing it down. It should be a great scene, but not surprisingly, the camera work and editing holds it down to average at best.

Finally, Anna Malle hooks up with Steve Hatcher when she returns to her booth to look for her keys after finishing the show. He gropes her before exploring her pussy with his tongue and fingers until she squirts a couple times, and then lets her take his cock all the way into her throat. Anna lets Steve fuck her from behind as well as riding him reverse cowgirl before taking his nut butter on her face and swallowing down as much as she can. It’s an okay scene with nice energy, but the lighting, camera work, and editing held it back. By now this is no surprise.

As usual with Roy Karch’s movies, rent Body Talk before ever thinking of buying it or pick it up darn cheap. It might (and I emphasize the word might) be a good movie to introduce a newbie to porn who’s nervous about it being too nasty, but anybody who’s seen more than three or four pornos will probably be looking for their remote before the feature is half done. There’s absolutely nothing about the entire movie that’s outstanding, or even really good. Samantha Sterlyng and Ian Daniels start out looking like they’re going to turn in a scorcher of a scene, as does Anna Malle and Steve Hatcher, but the camera work and editing holds it back so that it ends up barely being above average. Heck, half the time the guys look like they’re counting the specks on the wall or the ceiling rather than on their partner. It’s the same problem with most of the feature, as well as Roy Karch’s work in general. Almost every scene I’ve seen from Mr. Karch seems afraid to let the performers go. Every scene seems to be held back in some way, so that even normally intense performers who always look like they’re having a great time feel like they’re being held back. I’m guessing this is because Mr. Karch is trying to make porn that absolutely nobody can get flustered by, but in doing so, he’s tamed it down to the point that I think a good portion of the couples who’d try watching features like this in bed would roll over and go to sleep rather than rolling together to work off any excess energy they might have. I’m guessing this is to try and draw more women in, but if so, you’d think they’d give a little more camera time to the guys, who are shown even less than in the normal porno. The non-sex scenes are just as average and predictable, with every one of them feeling recycled. If you’re a fan of any of the cast and really want to watch Body Talk, rent it first since I don’t think you’re going to feel like watching it much more than once.

Extras: Bios are included for Anna Malle, Billy Glide, Chris Cannon, Ian Daniels, Kyle Stone, Lezley Zen, Samantha Sterlyng, Steve Hatcher, and Taylor St. Clair. Each bio includes a little personal information and a photo of the star. The photo gallery lasts about two and a half minutes, with about seven seconds per very nice looking snapshot. There’s also web links, trailers are included for The Edge, Naked Hollywood 1: Faking It, and Naked Hollywood 2: Lust or Love, and a behind the scenes featurette.

Finally, there’s a behind the scenes featurette that lasts about thirteen minutes and features camera work by Sindee Coxx. It starts off badly by using the same opening credits as the movie before finally cutting to an interview with Taylor St. Clair. The rest of the female cast also gives interviews in between cuts of the actual scenes and the scenes being filmed. It’s a pretty average behind the scenes that gives you a nice little taste of the female cast and nothing more.

Themes: Straight, titty-fucking, masturbation, rimming (male > female), swallowing, and squirting

Raincoat Factor: Medium low

Overall: Currently, most of Adam & Eve’s standard releases can be found online for between $15 and $25 with most stores offering them for under $20. Rent this one before shelling out the big bucks for it. Barely anything in the feature gets much above average, and much of it is boring and feels recycled.

Note to Adam & Eve: I’m hoping you’re giving Mr. Karch work because you’re trying to draw new porn fans in, although I also suspect that a wager was lost for him to make this many movies. It’s great to see you wanting to make movies with great chemistry between the couples and not a lot of nasty stuff, but taming it down to this point often makes the scenes boring, which is even worse than having an intense scene with the performers looking like they’re really enjoying themselves. Couples films should not have to mean boring sex!
