Black Pipe Layers 2 (Exquisite) Review

My review:
This will be half a review and half a public service announcement. I have to caution other porn consumers of the technical quality of this DVD. To provide a little background, I’m very picky about audio and video quality when it comes to DVDs, whether it is a mainstream or porn movie. The technological advances with DVDs, progressive scan DVD players, and DLP televisions dictate that higher production standards should be the norm and not the exception.

That being said, more than any other porn DVD I’ve seen except for VHS transfers to DVD, this porno had some of the worst DVD authoring, lighting and pixel problems that I’ve ever seen. The lighting was very inconsistent – either too bright or too many shadows. When the director and cameraman were filming, did they not think the light shining through the windows would pose any issues? Couple that with the pixel/grainy problems and you have a visual mess.

I’m going to take Exquisite and JSP to task here for ruining what could’ve been a all-time favorite for me. I understand that post production editing couldn’t have fixed the lighting issue but what about the pre-production work that goes in before filming begins? I haven’t noticed these lighting issues in other Justin Slayer movies so this may be an isolated incident. Plus, with him joining Evil Angel, I’m confident that he will adopt their high standards in all his future directorial endeavors.

I bought this DVD solely for Jane Darling’s scene and all I can say is – what a waste. God, this scene should have been an IR classic if not for the technical issues. In fact, all of the scenes contain some really hot sex but that does not lessen my displeasure.

The premise of the Black Pipe Layers is that there will be some nasty pipe laying in the orifices of the enlisted women from the well hung group of Justin Slayer, Boz, & J.Monty. (I think that’s the male talent since there is no cast list to speak of.) Every scene has anal sex and DPs in multiple positions and these women are not your average Vivid contract stars. These scenes demand size queens and anal champs. Plus, there will lots of “playa” talk mixed with a tinge of “ghetto” speak from the layers. If you’ve seen other Justin Slayer movies, you know what I mean by “playa” talk. Funny as all hell and it seems that the guys are expressing what a great time they are having – can’t blame ‘em – and the girls really like the verbal play-by-play and attention.

To be fair, if you’re not so picky about A/V quality, I will rate the scenes based on the sex action alone and leave it up to the reader to make their own judgment on renting or purchasing this movie.

Scene 1 – Vivienne LaRoche:
Vivienne is a fairly cute redhead and, as is her usual self, takes an anal pounding that I have to marvel at how she doesn’t flinch at having guys balls deep in her ass. This scene is anal all the way except for the DP’s where her pussy will get some action. Sex wise, very good scene. 3 ½ out of 5.

Scene 2 – Jane Darling:
Jane looks hot in a blue top and matching short shorts that are skin tight. Jane’s pair of natural tata’s look especially fine in RCG as she is getting analized and then in DP. She gets DP’ed in CG as well and she takes the pipes to the hilt with no problem whatsoever. There is such good chemistry in this scene and it is further amplified in the BTS extra where 2 of the guys get at her again after she showers following the main scene. Truly, a waste of a scene with Jane. 4 ½ out of 5.

Scene 3 – Patricia:
Patricia is a decent enough brunette. This scene takes place in a small restaurant and I can’t believe they filmed the scene within a short distance of a window with bright sunlight coming in. The sunlight is overpowering the lighting completely. Highlight of the scene is Patricia taking a DP as she is sitting on a guy on a chair facing him with the other guy standing behind her and fucking her butt like car pistons on overdrive. Sex wise, this is non-stop hardcore and a very good scene. 4 out of 5.

Scene 4 – Megan:
Megan is an attractive blond with short hair. The scene takes place on a massage table with bright sunlight coming thru the curtains. Arrgh. Megan’s pussy gets warmed up in doggie, mish, and CG all the while giving oral attention to the other unattended pipes. It’s on to DP in CG and they don’t hold back in their anal thrusting. Funniest moment of the movie occurs next as Boz has to stand and brace himself on a foot stool to reach Megan’s pussy for RCG DP on top of the massage table. 3 ½ out of 5.

Scene 5 – Laura Lion:
I don’t find Laura too attractive and she’s got a somewhat thick build, which is not my preference. This scene takes place in a recreation room with a pool table that is used for the scene. Hot standing DP cuts away to CG with airtight for all her orifices. Again, the pipe laying is hardcore and blazing. OK scene ends in good post-head clean up. 2 out of 5.

DVD extras:
I enjoy the BTS extras from Justin Slayer’s flicks and this is no exception. The BTS is mostly outtakes and some candid conversations/moments that shed some light on the talent. The highlight of the BTS is the segment with Jane where the sex continues after the scene had originally finished. The other extras are a photo gallery and cum shot recap. 3 out of 5.

Summary:
I can’t recommend this as a buy, just a rental. It’s a crying shame about the technical merits but I feel I have to be steadfast and grade accordingly based on my standards. I’ve seen other JSP joints and the problems here do not exist in others. Good luck to JS at Evil Angel and I look forward to reviewing his future flicks.
