Initial Expectations: What I’ve seen from Marc Dorcel has been pretty impressive, and I’m expecting another well done feature here.

Initial Reaction: I think I’m going to have to start checking out what Marc Dorcel has to offer a bit more.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is pretty average, and has a few hollow spots, but the English dubbing seems well done. Sadly, even in the original French audio there’s more than a little dubbing. The video is pretty good. There’s a small amount of grain, but that’s about it. There’s some artistic lighting and a few shadows, but they normally enhance the scenes rather than bring them down.

Music: The music comes and goes throughout the scenes. Where there is music, it’s tastefully done and balances nicely with the rest of the audio, unlike most porn music out there.

Disc Problems / Complaints: There’s some really funky authoring on this DVD. There’s no time code, and the feature is split over a couple titles. This is a bit strange since there’s only about eight minutes on the second title. There are quite a few chapters throughout the feature, which helps for skipping around, but I still like the ability to jump to any spot in a movie, and get ticked when I find out that I can’t. With the authoring as it is, it also means that when I stopped the movie and restarted it later, my player went to the start of each chapter rather than where I stopped.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu nicely works a little of the feature in, while the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of the scene and a scene number.

The Feature: Black Lace & White Lies revolves around a bartender, played by Maeva Excel. She likes to get fucked in the ass and knows a bunch of people who also like to fuck, which is about all the feature is about. Luckily, her stories just make for a loose framework and are never overdone.

The action starts out in a bar bathroom. Mercedes, a raven haired woman with a rather unattractive tattoo on the front of her thigh, sucks off a guy while squatting down. Strangely, there’s no pop shown. He acts like he might have, but quickly kisses her and leaves. It’s an okay lead-in, but not much of a scene.

Later, the same guy gets busy with Rita Fatalyano, a very cute brunette with a great body. He starts out tonguing her twat and nibbling her nips before letting her gobble his knob and titty-fuck him. Black Lace & White Lies is a very nice bit of European porn. There’s not much of a plot, but the sex has a nicely artistic touch and a lot of chemistry. As always, Rita Faltoytano is amazing, but just as amazing here is Sharone. The sex surprised me a little throughout the feature, since some scenes are very short and not all of them had visible pops. In a way this made Black Lace & White Lies remind me of some of the golden age porn, as it added a nice variety to some of the sex. Of course, in classic porn the majority of scenes didn’t have anal sex. Black Lace & White Lies is a hot European fuck flick that shows why Marc Dorcel has one heck of a following on both sides of the ocean.

Extras: The photo gallery contains about twenty very nice looking snapshots. It’s manual rather than automated, but takes so long to let you move forward or back that halfway through I started hoping with every new photo that it would be the last. There’s also a trailer for Orgy in Black (I think), internet information, and a bonus featurette that lasts about twenty six minutes. The featurette takes place around a strip club, and is filled with women doing their acts. There’s also a few interviews with some of the girls around the club, as well as a bit of the Awards Bruxelles 2002. The award show portion is done pretty well, and nicely identifies the stars as well as the awards they’re winning, which is great for those of us who aren’t very familiar with European stars. A small amount of the audio is in French only, but there’s still plenty to enjoy if you don’t speak the language.

Overall: Currently, most of Marc Dorcel’s features can be found online for between $20 and $28 with several stores offering them near the low end. The low end seems very fair here. The movie is very hot, and the transfer is also well done. There’s a good bonus featurette also, although a bit of it is only in French.

Note to Wicked / Marc Dorcel Productions: Please work on your authoring a little better. The contents of the DVD are very nice, but the DVD feels like it was put together a little sloppy.
