| Sometimes being a critic means admitting when you’re wrong. And I have been so wrong. When Zupko was helming the first few installments of his brainchild, the Big Wet Asses series, I didn’t think it could get any better. And if it got any worse there would be no one to blame but Zupko. He took a very simple idea (drenching the girls asses in oil) and transformed it into an ass worshipping phenomenon that immediately catapulted this series’ popularity into the stratosphere, peaking with Big Wet Asses 3 and an AVN award in 2005 (Best Anal-Themed Feature) for that specific volume. When Zupko walked from Elegant, the Big Wet Asses series stayed but I thought it’d never be the same; that it’d remain in name but that the heart and soul of it was gone, that it’d never recover. Enter William H. A perfect fit at Patrick Collins’ newly-refurbished Hedonistic House of Ideas, the former William H. Nutsack (Cum Drenched Tits) may be the only director working whose vision is zany enough to even attempt to replace a Thomas Zupko. But surprisingly, Will has opted to cut down on the insanity and up the intensity, zeroing in on the sex instead of all the superfluous accoutrements. Also of note is not only how William H. has dialed down the zaniness so prominent in his gonzo work of the past but he has seemingly adapted his visual style, as well, choosing a look I think will surprise more than a few of his fans. The tease portions of Big Wet Asses 9 I would be proud to show anywhere, up against anything. They feature all five ladies (Tiffany Mynx, Velicity Von, Sophie Dee, Avy Scott and Harmony) strutting their stuff wearing a dazzling array of black see-through mesh and fishnet outfits against a solid white background, not at all unlike the all-white “nothingness” of The Construct, the simulation room that Morpheus shows to Neo in The Matrix. There is always room for improvements and advancements and clearly William H. had a plan for what he wanted to accomplish. I’d call this one a success.
