Initial Expectations: I haven’t heard much about this series, so I’m keeping an open mind about it.

Initial Reaction: Although it had some problems, Omar seems like a kind of fun alternative to a lot of the other gonzo porn out there.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio leaves a bit to be desired, showing some of the limitations of gonzo porn. It’s a bit unbalanced and some of the dialogue is often a little muddled and hard to hear. There’s also a fair amount of background noise during the outdoor scenes. The video is a bit better, but still has a few problems. It’s very clear when the camera isn’t moving, but when it does it has the same jerky feeling as a twelve year old operating a video camera for the first time. All of the problems I’d say are from the original feeling, since the picture is very clear and free of shadows.

Menus: The main menu is the standard boring VCA main menu with the same boring music I’ve come to dread. The chapter menu, however, has a fun style and nicely lets you choose a scene based on a small clip and the name of the lady in the scene.

The Feature: Big Omar puts a bit of a British spin on the gonzo format thanks to his buddy Burt behind the camera. Omar’s trying to get into shape for one reason or another, so he rides his bike from place to place. He ends up staying at a hotel with women who seem to give him every bit as much of a workout as his bike does while Burt follows him around, gives him a little help, and makes a few lewd comments.

Upon arriving at the hotel he plans on staying at, Nancy, an older redhead with about A-cup tits and missle-like nipples, welcomes Omar in one of the most welcoming ways possible. Omar meets Ruth, a decent looking bleached blonde from the Czech Republic, having a bit of a picnic in the middle of a field by herself. She’s a bit down, but when Omar starts to rise, so do her spirits. They start off with a little kissing before working each other over orally. It starts out great and with amazing chemistry, but as the scene goes along, the chemistry drops and Anna seems to be there mostly for the paycheck. Some of this might be Burt treating her a little roughly when she’s sucking his cock, as well as Burt spraying her down without giving her any warning. Anna looks like she’d rather not take the facial from Burt, yet has almost no problem with Omar’s great gusher. It’s a pretty good scene, but very odd.

Although it has its faults, there’s still a lot of good about Big Omar’s Anal Holiday Harlots. There’s a nice fun spirit to the feature, and Omar has some nice charisma that comes out throughout the feature. He’s very likeable, and it makes the feature much more fun than seeing girls fall in the sack with some arrogant prick within moments of meeting him. Omar also seems to genuinely enjoy his work, and appears to have a lot of fun with the feature. The girls, although not knockouts, have a reality about them that often makes them just as good as the dream girls that most of us our used to in porn. Many of them also had a fresher feel, which helped to make it a nice change from a lot of the porn that’s out there. That’s not to say that Big Omar’s Anal Holiday Harlots is perfect. Burt can be extremely annoying, and the camera work leaves a bit to be desired, even at gonzo porn standards. But still, I guess there’s a moral to the story. If you have a friend with a video camera, and ride your bike a lot, you have a chance of bagging a bunch of natural women who love to fuck.

Overall: Currently, the Big Omar series can be found online for between $20 and $25 with quite a few stores offering it near the low end. This seems a little high for what you get here. The feature is fun and has a different feel that many people might find refreshing, but the camera work leaves a bit to be desired and there isn’t really anything for extras.

Note to VCA: It looks like you gave this a great transfer, but a couple extras would have been nice also, even if they were just trailers rather than boxcovers.
