Initial Expectations

I saw a roster of high-caliber talent so I knew this title had to be good. But I wasn't sure how so many top performers could be packed into one title successfully so I didn't hold my expectations too high.

Who Should Watch It

If you're fan of any of the cast, they're well represented here so it would be worth checking out. If you're a general fan of all-Black gonzo, this is a can't miss.

Who Should Avoid It

If you're tired of the same old same-old gonzo, you'll be further annoyed by this title as it's by-the-numbers.

Initial Impression

This is a solid compilation of scenes by a great sample of today's top talent. Given the scenes were not related to each other in any appreciable way, in the end, this was just another gonzo effort, although of high quality.

Scene 1 – Mone Devine (4)

There's no need to give a play-by-play account of the scenes in this movie. It's all been seen and done countless times before. All I can say is that all of the women impressed me with their scenes; most were great, a few were outstanding.

Mone is a cutie who performs with great energy and enthusiasm. This scene wasn't outstanding but I like Mone and she did well.

Scene 2 – Jada Fire (4.5)

We all know Jada. We all know she's hot. We all know she turns in top-notch performances time after time. This one was no different.

Scene 3 – Ice LaFox, Mika Brown (4)

Mika is new to me but Ice isn't. Ice has been around for a few years but recently she has caught my attention with increasingly hot performances. This scene was intentionally informal with the girls performing on a couch in a hotel room while fellow porn actress sitting around in the room watching and chatting amongst themselves. The women give a good show but I thought the scene was slightly marred by the camera occasionally panning to the extraneous onlookers. There was one instance when Olivia walked past the two performers and the camera kept rolling as though nothing happened. No big deal but they should have edited that out.

Scene 4– Mika Brown (4)

Mika returns to do a quite good boy-girl scene with Mandingo.

Scene 5– Cherokee (4)

Cherokee is an interesting porn star, or at least her ass is interesting. See, Cherokee has a huge ass, one whose attractiveness can be debated heavily. In addition to being gargantuan in size, Cherokee's rear (and thighs) have quite a bit of cellulite. A lot of people are turned off by her cellulite but it's okay by me. I think she's quite pretty and I rather enjoyed watching her oversized ass bounce and jiggle all over Jack Napier.

Scene 6 - Skyy (4)

Skyy is another top-notch performer with unparalleled oral skills. She turns in yet another impressive scene.

Scene 7 - Sydnee Capri (4)

Newcomer Sydnee continues the trend of thick women. Sydnee's ass is more firm than the previous two performers but also quite appreciable in size. Once again, the sex is good, the chemistry is good, and the technical aspects; the ingredients for a great scene.

Scene 8 - Carmen Hayes (4)

The attack of the voluptuous women continues as Carmen adds another fantastic scene to her resume. At this point, this movie has already outdone itself but there are two more great scenes.

Scene 9 - Ayana Angel, Olivia O'Lovely (5)

Both of these women are high on my favorite performer list so unless someone fouled up technically, this scene was guaranteed to be a winner. Surprisingly, Olivia outperformed Ayana, taking charge from the outset. She had a good ol' time with Ayana and you could really tell. It's a girl-girl scene but it's the one I enjoyed the most due to the heat and chemistry.

Scene 10 - Mya Lovely (4.5)

Mya is one of the most memorable performers I've seen and she continues to impress in this scene. I hope she stays around for a while because she's one of the few really good consistent performers.

"The Party"

The context of this movie is linked to an event called "Sexual Conversations" that took place on November 11, 2004. There wasn't any explanation of the background of this event given in the movie, but it appeared to be a major industry shindig hosted by West Coast Productions. It took place in the evening and most of the attendees were dressed to the nines. The majority of the party footage consisted of a hostess (I forget her name) interviewing several adult entertainers as they walk into the event, a la red carpet treatment at the Emmys. Before each scene, we see a segment of these interviews with the starlet who is featured in that scene. In my observation, there was absolutely no need to include footage of the "party" along with the sex scenes. In fact, it would have served this title better had it been left out completely. The reason being is the interview footage doesn't add anything to the movie. Moreover, the footage is technically horrendous, particularly in the audio realm. The microphone was all but incapable of picking up on the voices of the interviewer and interviewees so you really had to strain to hear what they were saying. Then some of the interview footage was intercut with footage of the party itself, which included dancing and loud music. So you end up going from barely discernable voices to blaring music which is quite annoying. All in all, the whole of the party footage just seemed unneeded and could have been left out completely.

Negatives

As said, the party footage was large inconsequential and was more of a nuisance than a benefit.

Summary

The Big Ass Party is really no different from other West Coast series like Booty Talk or Assiliciously Delcious. It's pretty much just a collection of hot scenes spanning two DVDs. The "big ass" theme is present but the "party" element is lost due to bad execution and poor technical elements. This one's a keeper though, for fans of all-Black gonzo. There's nothing really spectacular but every scene is well done and in the end, that's all I ask. This would also be good as a primer on the current top Black female talent.
