Initial Expectations: Evil Angel normally turns out a great, extremely hot feature on an okay DVD. I have no reason to expect anything different here.

Initial Reaction: It’s a very well done DVD, but the feature isn’t quite up to my usual Evil Angel expectations.

Audio /Video Quality: As one has come to expect with Evil Angel, the audio and video qualities are better than most other features, but it does lag a little behind Evil Angel’s normal quality. The video is pretty close to Evil Angel’s normal high quality and only has a few lighting problems. The audio, however, has a few more problems. There are some hollow and uneven areas, as well has having a little background noise. The background noise might have been intentional, since it’s sounds like traffic noises and barking dogs rather than cell phones and directions. There are also a few spots where the dialogue was a little hard to hear.

Music: There’s very little music in A Bevy of Blondes . There isn’t any music in the scenes and only a couple minutes in the setup scenes. When there is music, it’s way too loud.

Menus: The menus are the standard, well done Evil Angel menus. The chapter menu lists the scenes by the girls in them and the fetish menu lets you jump to whatever action you’re in the mood for.

Disc Problems: From about 104 min. to 106 min. the picture pixelized and broke apart, finally freezing the feature when I watched this DVD on a Pioneer DV414. It skipped a little on my Marantz player also, but at least made it through the scene even if it wasn’t smooth.

The Feature: Christophe Clark’s A Bevy of Blondes sets out to give many viewers just what they want. Blondes boinking. It’s a simple idea and one that captures the imagination and libido of many people. He doesn’t bother with things like plots, a lot of lighting, or acting beyond one syllabled words. Instead he just offers a short lead in to each scene, none of which are connected, followed by a sex scene involving, of course, at least one blonde.

David Perry starts things off modeling nude for artist Nannes Beaumont. He’s attracted to her and the rushing blood provides her with an extra model she doesn’t really want to see. David fantasizes about the two of them teasing and masturbating for each other before he works her ass over with his tongue and fingers. Of course he fucks both her pussy and ass, but for a little different feel there’s a bit of masturbation that breaks up the scene as well as the usual position changes. There’s also a lot of gape, which David blows his load into. In another nice change, he continues to fuck her ass after he pops in it. It’s an okay scene, but I can’t say that I was overly impressed with it.

Nikki Blonde heads up the next scene with a guy I don’t recognize. She showers while the guy watches her and smokes, and then comes out to give him a back and neck rub. She dances for him a little and then vigorously works over his cock with her hand and mouth. Once again, the following fuck-fest is broken up a little by some masturbation in the middle of the scene, and Nikki gets her toes sucked as well. It’s a little better scene that’s finished off nicely with Nikki licking the guy’s jizz off a glass table.

Sophie Angel, one of the cutest blondes in the feature, gets the pleasure of greeting Christophe Clark at home. She’s a very cute and clean shaven brunette and Christophe quickly attacks her pussy and asshole as he comes home before she starts sucking his cock. Christophe starts fucking her from behind but them picks her up and they make their way to the bedroom. He eats her pussy and ass a little more in the bedroom before spooning her. Erika and Judith Key team up next for the only lesbian action in A Bevy of Blondes . I’m not sure which is which, but the taller of the two starts out in the shower before bringing the more petite one a cup of coffee to start her morning right. Well, that and a nice deep kiss and some finger play. They work each other over, as well as themselves, with their fingers before the taller one goes for a strap- on. She works over her smaller friend with the strap-on, building some nice heat, and then the scene abruptly ends. This was a major disappointment, but the taller blonde is still around and her boyfriend has come home. He eats her pussy and ass before they fuck. Once again they break apart the fuck sequence with a little foreplay, in this case a footjob, before he finally pops on her tits. It’s a pretty good scene, but I would have much rather seen her take on the other blonde longer.

Finally, Leslie Taylor pays off a large debt to a guy with glasses with his girlfriend Christal. Christal is another extremely cute blonde who also looks slightly innocent until she starts giving the guy with glasses a blowjob. Since it’s his girlfriend, the other guy lets Leslie join in on the oral action before he moves around to fuck her from behind. They trade back and forth quite a bit, both on her pussy and ass before they DP her in two positions. It’s another extremely hot scene that’s helped out by some good overall acting between the three people. It also has a great facial finish that Christal takes extremely well.

Christophe Clark has a definite following, and A Bevy of Blondes might be a good place for those curious about him to start. It isn’t filled with the gaping assholes he’s known for, although there are quite a few gapes and there’s plenty of anal sex that’s captured fairly simply. Much of the sex doesn’t follow the typical patterns of American porn and the couples often stop fucking to go back for a little more foreplay. It’s a nice change and gives much of the sex a different feel. It also has a great plus in that the girls are real rather than half plastic. Although it’s not a title that makes me think I need to find everything else that Christophe has ever done, it is good enough to make me want to check out a few of his other titles.

Extras: Evil Angel and Christophe Clark have given a few of the usual extras as well as something just for A Bevy of Blondes . As usual, there’s a bio for Christophe Clark, website information, and a photo gallery. The photo gallery includes thirty two very well done snapshots, both from the production and behind the scenes.

There is also almost an hour of extra footage. There’s two minutes that show Christophe giving some directions as well as the cast messing up some lines. More notable, however, is the fifty four minutes of extra footage from the sex scenes that gives a little more of almost every scene in the movie. Some of it is a little cut up, but it still works quite nicely if you like a particular performer or just more of Christophe’s scenes.

Overall: Currently, A Bevy of Blondes can be found online for between $24 and $30 with many stores offering it for under $25. If you’re looking for something more hardcore without much plot, this might be a good feature. It’s not going to be everybody’s kind of feature, though, so you might want to rent it first. It’s better than average for sex, extras, and technical qualities, but nothing really stands out about it.

Note to Evil Angel / Christophe Clark: The extra footage was a great addition to this DVD. I hope we get to see more extra footage in upcoming DVDs.
