Initial Expectations: Naughty America has made some very fun scenes, but their lack of effort towards their overall DVDs leaves me a bit cold. I'm going into this one with decent expectations due to the great cast involved, but can't get them too high due to Naughty America's track record.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty good. The audio has a few minor balance problems and background nosies, but nothing that interferes with the action too much. The video is presented in the full frame format and looks good. It's nicely lit and smooth, but there are a few areas with a touch of pixelation.

Disc Complaints / Authoring Notes: The authoring is a bit funky, which doesn't seem to be anything too unusual with Naughty America. Rather than having the entire movie on a title that makes it easy for viewers to skip to where ever they choose in the movie, which is extremely nice if you get tired of a scene and just want to jump ahead randomly or if you're viewing the movie later and want to go to a specific point in the movie, each scene has its own title, similar to how some studios run their TV shows on DVD. Needless to say, this makes the DVD extremely hard to navigate.

Menus: The main menu is far from impressive, and gives the choices over a very blurry still. The chapter menu shows some nice effort, and lets you choose a scene based on a still of each girl and her name. After making the choice you're given a second menu that lets you choose where you want to go in the scene sexually.

The Feature

Best of Big Butts 1 collects five Naughty America scenes featuring girls with big butts. The movie goes scene by scene without ever telling you which series or release the scenes come from.

This isn't a bad scene, but it felt a bit drawn out and didn't have that fun spark I normally expect from Naughty America.

Best of Big Butts 1 is an okay compilation release. There's no doubt that this is a great cast of girls with a little extra in back, but sadly that's where the big butt focus ends. The scenes never feel like they're trying to focus on the butts with the optimal camera angles or like certain positions were chosen to show them off. Yes, I know that this is a compilation rather than a release tailored for butt fans, but with these girls and how well they're known for their asses I couldn't help but feel like even in a regular scene you should have been drawn to their butts. Beyond that, this is pretty typical Naughty America fare. The action has a very couples friendly feeling, and moves at a decent pace while never feeling like it wants to rush things too much. It's all good and fine, but I never felt that spark that takes the action from being good to being great. Best of Big Butts 1 is a decent compilation, but I couldn't help but want a little more than what it delivered.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, most of Naughty America’s DVDs can be found online for between about $15 and $27 with most stores offering them under $20. Aim a bit low here. The action is pretty good, as well as typical for Naughty America, but the big butt aspect never felt like it was played up much. The technical aspects are pretty good, but as usual with Naughty America there's no real effort put into the extras. This is a decent compilation that didn't quite live up to my expectations for it.

Note to Naughty America: If you're going to do a big butt or big tit compilation, you might want to pick scenes where those attributes rather than just picking out scenes with girls who have those attributes.
