Initial Expectations: I’m not quite sure what to expect here, so I’m going in with an open mind.

Initial Reaction: It’s a great showcase for Alexis.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody curious about Alexis Amore as well as all of her fans

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants more than oral and teasing

Audio /Video Quality: The audio varies from scene to scene. In the solo sections the only audio is the music. In the actual sex scenes there’s no music, but the audio is nicely balanced and feels very realistic. There are a couple background noises, but they’re few and far between. The video is pretty good, and blends color and black and white video in a very pleasing manner, but does have its faults. There’s a hint of grain through the feature, which isn’t all bad because the feature has an artistic feel and the slight grain enhances this feeling. The bigger problem is a bit of uneven lighting that occasionally feels sloppy rather than artistic and a bit of soft focus blurring and the cameraman getting into the edge of a few scenes.

Music: The music is provided by Bat Brothers & Sub-Funk Productions. It’s often the only audio in the softcore sections, but it’s some good techno and I couldn’t help but like it.

Menus: The menus are decent. The main menu has a little animation that helps it out nicely without going overboard. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene.

The Feature: Best of Alexis Amore collects several unrelated scenes with Alexis Amore. For those who haven’t seen Alexis, she’s an overly implanted Peruvian with a couple tattoos, and both nipples, her navel, and her navel, and her hood pierced. The scenes alternate between tease shots and more hardcore action.

Pornstar starts out letting Alexis show off her body. She strips down and shows off her body without any masturbation or any kind of sex whatsoever.

This is an interesting way to start off the feature, and I have to admit that I kind of like it. Alexis appears to get along with the camera extremely well, and it does a great job of showing off her body. It’s artistic, blending full color and black and white sequences very nicely, while not losing any of the sexiness. It’s almost like a moving pictorial.

Hot & Heavy lets Alexis get a little action. She crawls onto the best wearing only a fishnet dress and stockings and rips the paper away from her man there. She licks, kisses, nibbles, and bites his cock through his boxers before freeing his trouser snake and giving it some deep kissing. She pauses to take off her dress and show how wet her pussy is before going back to work sucking him. Alexis takes the guy between her tits and finally strokes him onto her face after working at it for quite a while.

This scene starts off pretty good, but loses all its steam by the end. Alexis looks great in her fishnet outfit and puts some very nice energy into the scene. The scene ends up taking a dive at the end because the guy seems to be having problems popping, which makes the scene drag on several minutes longer than it should have. I actually got out the remote so I could fast forward and see if the guy was ever going to pop.

Pool Party is another softcore sequence that lets Alexis show off what she has. She shows off in her bikini and strips down and plays in the water. She diddles herself a little, but barely enough to qualify.

This is another softcore sequence that nicely builds on the first sequence. It gets just a little harder by having Alexis touch herself, but never so much that it ever loses its artistic softcore feel. It also works nicely because it holds itself apart with a completely different feel and subject.

Pleasure has Alexis taking care of herself. She starts out using just her fingers and moves on to using a clear dildo. She spanks herself a couple times and takes the time to suck her juices off the dildo at the end of the scene.

It’s a nicely done masturbation scene. Alexis plays to the camera a little, but not overly much. There’s a glance here and a comment there, but that’s about it and it’s almost all at the start of the scene. Once she gets going she seems to get almost completely into pleasuring herself.

New York Style lets Alexis show off in a fairly urban outfit with some New York styles. She starts off in a bikini, but strips out of it and shows off her body nicely.

This is another straightforward tease that Alexis handles nicely. The styles seemed a little gangsta-bitch for me, but Alexis makes them look about as good as I think anybody can. Although it’s not for my tastes, I can see many of her fans really enjoying the scene.

La Mamada is another oral sequence for Alexis. She starts out working her fingers around her bikini bottom to play with her pussy before going over to the same guy as earlier (which makes me think he’s her suitcase pimp) and sucking his schlong. Alexis lets her eyes wander between her partner and the camera, at which point she normally talks to it as if she’s doing a virtual scene. Finally, she takes the guy on her big fat titties.

This is an okay blowjob scene. Alexis does a great job. She looks like she’s enjoying herself and gives the camera some great eyes. The guy, however, brings the scene down every time the camera mistakenly looks at him. He also looks like he has some serious wood problems, and I almost expected Alexis to call in a fluffer to take care of him. Part of my enjoyment of the scene was actually watching the look in Alexis’ eyes go from “isn’t this fun” to “what the fuck’s wrong with you that you can’t cum with all I’m doing to you?”.

Ironically, Alexis finishes things up with Just Getting Started. It’s another softcore scene that allows her to show off her ample assets and towering tits. There’s nothing really new to say about this section that I haven’t said about the others.

The Best of Alexis Amore is a different type of movie. The cover makes it look to be a compilation, but all the scenes appear to be new. The scenes alternate between basically softcore tease scenes and harder scenes, but they never go so far as fucking. The tease scenes are easily the best things here, with most of the blame for the other scenes faltering going to the guy in the scenes. Every time he appears he seems to have wood problems, and at times it even seemed like Alexis was getting frustrated with him because of it. The biggest problem with the feature is that there’s no actual fucking, which I expect when I pick up a porno unless the cover tells me otherwise. The feature’s not going beyond the former presidential treatment held back the feature, and makes The Best of Alexis Amore a good DVD rather than a great one.

Extras: Alexis Amore gives a small autobiography. There’s also a nice twenty snapshot photo gallery which blends a gallery of thumbnails with the selected snapshot. If you choose, you can also view the gallery as a nicely done slideshow. Finally, there’s company information.

Overall: Currently, many Sensational Video DVDs can be found online for between $12 and $18. The low end seems pretty fair. The sex is limited here, but the transfer is decent. There’s also not much for extras.
