Best By Private 31: Private Goddesses Review

As with the last Private DVD I reviewed you have over two minutes of Copyright warnings before you get to the advertisement for www.Private.com.

The main menu is simple and very nicely done. You have the standard (for Private) selections of scene, language and subtitle selection as well as Extra Materials and Play Movie.

There are 7 chapters on the scene selection menu. Each labeled with the woman's name they are supposed to be showcasing. Though it is kind of hard to tell if you have highlighted the chapter 5-7 or 1-4 selection (depending on the screen) or the main menu selection due to the highlight not being very pronounced. The selection of languages and subtitles are the standard Private choices though for this particular DVD I am not sure how much good you would get out of either.

Due to the nature of this DVD the extra's are limited but still informative. There is the trailer for this movie. A Cast List that includes the following information on each woman as well as a picture:
Nationality/Age/Zodiac/Hobbies/Previous Job/Boyfriend (yes/no)/Favorite Position/Magazines/DVD's/VHS. In this case they also list the two women (Henriette Blond and My Lee) that aren't "goddesses" but are still in the movie.

The Photobook is a manual advance that is kind of hit and miss on the number of pictures from each scene. A few only have one or two pictures. The Film Notes section for this DVD really makes it easy for me since it lists the title of the movie each scene was taken from and the cast list (men and women) for each scene. The Other Titles section is of course previews for 5 other Private Titles.

The purpose of this compilation DVD is to showcase 7 beautiful women from the Private empire. Each scene starts off with a short voice over singing each woman's praises before it jumps right into the scene. Having never seen any of these scenes before I am not sure if they were edited from how they were originally shown or not but a couple of them definately gave me the impression that parts had been cut out.

As with most Private titles you will either like the way they shoot their sex scenes or you won't since they are all very consistent in format. Of note is the fact that the Michelle Wild and Judith Fox scenes both contained footage of the guy going down on the woman even though I am coming to suspect that is not the norm in a Private title.

My main problem with this DVD is their choice of scenes. In Monica Moore's scene the DP section of it is actually done by Henriette Blond while Monica just sits in the background and masturbates. The same thing happens in Suzan Nielsen when My Lee has an anal segment. Suzan just sits back and watches. In Michelle Wild's scene if there actually was a cum shot is was so small I missed it entirely and believe me I went over the final minutes again and again trying to catch it.

For those of you that watch Private for it's normal facial cum shot endings you will be disappointed by the selection here. While all the scenes look like they were supposed to end in facials in the majority of them the guy either misses or isn't up to the task.

Lynn Stone (aka Virtualia) has the first scene with 2 guys and it is impressive in it's simplicity. No heavy make-up or costumes just three naked people (1 woman 2 guys) having sex on a couch. She is wearing her shoulder length blonde hair down and looks great.

Rita's scene has anal but it is badly captured in regards to the fact that it is hard to tell at first.

Judith Fox's scene has no anal at all.

Now you may say these are all minor points and you are right. However, the point of this DVD was supposed to be to showcase these specific women and when you look at their list of DVD credits I just can't help but think they could have come up with some better choices.

If you are a fan of more than one of these women then this may be the DVD for you but you may want to consider looking at some of their other works first.
