WHAT'S THAT?

This is one of the strangest films by Robby D. From the editing to the surrealistic scenes with the Devil, Beat The Devil hit your eyes and mind from the beginning. An strange and funny film that has a great failure: the most of the sex is unable turn you on.

-----Director: Robby D.

-----Running time: 78 minutes

-----Production date: 2003

-----Studio: Digital Playground

-----Cast: Jesse Jane, Monique Dane, Jana Cova, Angel Long, Felecia Fox, Eric Masterson, Evan Stone, and Mark Davis in sexual roles and Bunny Luv, Celeste and Tim Case in non-sex roles

Who should watch it Fans of Jesse Jane and Evan Stone. Anyone who cares more for the funny and strange aspect than for the sex.

Who should avoid it Anyone who wants really good sex through all the movie.

THE FEATURE

Plot

Eric Shmerick (Eric Masterson), a shy, awkward and disabled boy made a deal with the Devil. From then on he became a great lover and a master of seduction and all his disabilities disappeared. However, now he has a problem, and he want to renegotiate his contract with the Devil. In order to be able to do it, Belladonna (Jesse Jane) is with him, to help him.

The Sex Scenes

The first scene involves Eric Masterson and Angel Long. It’s not a bad scene but it’s a bit boring. A long time with an average blow job, and then some tame sex. A fast forward button scene.

The second scene involves Jana Cova and Monique Dane. This scene doesn’t have actual sex. Just caressing, kissing, some tame pussy licking and soft finger action. It’s good because Jana and Monique are beautiful. They strip down and they touch each other and it’s quite sexy. However, the scene is unable to turn you on. Beautiful to watch but that’s not enough.

The third scene involves Felecia Fox and Eric Masterson. This is an awful scene. Boring, with total lack of heat, and disappointing. The camera work doesn’t show anything good through all the scene, and the sex is totally boring. The worst of the film.

The fourth scene involves Jesse Jane and Evan Stone. This is the best scene of the film. An excellent scene in all aspects. Really good sex, terrific editing work, and good music. Jesse is fabulous here. This was her first boy/girl scene and she did a perfect work. I would dare to say that watching the movie is worth for this scene. Don’t miss it. Great.

The fifth scene involves Jesse Jane and Mark Davis. It’s not a bad scene. A good blowjob and some average sex. Without a doubt, Jesse is a sex machine. This scene doesn’t have the same level that the one with Evan, but if you like Jesse it’s ok. It would have been better if Jesse would had taken off her bra.

IN THE END

Direction

I really liked the direction in this movie and even more the edit work by Joey Pulgadas. This team have made an excellent work in this movie. Rapid camera movements, slow motions, cuts, external images… The work by Robby D. and Pulgadas in one of the most remarkable aspects of Beat the Devil.

Production

Digital Playground always take care on the production of their features. Without having great settings or locations, Beat the Devil have a good production. Austere but effective settings, good lightning and sound, good and proper music and good make up and clothes. All with a plain touch.

Acting and screenplay

In this aspect Evan Stone becomes the king of the film. His portrait of the devil is one of the best I’ve ever seen (not the best, of course, but it’s great). A terrific work of Evan Stone. However, Eric and Jesse doesn’t do much for me in this aspect.
I really like the screenplay. It has a surrealistic touch in some scenes that captivated me and is really funny and has some good quotes. Good screenplay.

Sex

Sadly, this is the worse aspect of the movie. The forth scene (Jesse-Evan) is really good, but the rest is disappointing. The first is a little bit boring, the second doesn’t have actual sex (although is pleasant to watch), the third is the worst of the film, and the fifth could have been better. Most of the scenes are fast forward button scenes, but missing the forth would be a sin.

What I liked Evan Stone, Jesse Jane, the edit, the music and the creativity.

What I disliked The first, third and fifth scene. All the sex is boring except the scene with Jesse and Evan.

The best scene/s of the movieWhatever acting scene by Evan. All the scenes with the Devil are great. And, talking about sex… you know: Jesse-Evan scene.

OVER ALL

I really liked the movie and the Jesse-Evan scene too. But, sadly, the sex in the most part of the film is boring and it’s supposed to be a porn movie!!! A good idea really well developed . Actually, a good movie as a normal movie, but disappointing as a porn movie. But well, creative, well edited, a great boy/girl debut by Jesse Jane (God saves Jesse), great acting by Evan Stone and a great discovering for me: Celeste, a pretty sexy and beautiful girl that I didn’t know about. She doesn’t have sex in this movie and I’ve never seen a sex scene by her, but I’m looking for it desperately
To sum up, as I said above, a good movie as a movie, but disappointing as a porn. So you decide. If you watch it as a normal movie you won’t be disappointed and you will watch a great sex scene by Jesse Jane. However, if you watch it as a porn movie, you will be disappointed. It’s your choice.
