Bareback Buddies (Hot Desert Knights) Review

It spite of the fact that health officials and many concerned gays protest the growing market in films promoting unsafe sex, they continue to multiply. Barebacking has joined such activities as fisting and water sports as offering additional titillation for jaded viewers. This film BAREBACK BUDDIES was among the first to violate the present safe-sex rule. It is still the most startling.

The film is divided in only three segments. In the first of these entitled “Office Buddies” Boss Richard Steele goes to lunch leaving office worker Jake Long alone. Jake starts watching some internet porn and takes out his pierced dick. Deliveryman Vince Masters catches him and their sex scene begins. Jake starts by sucking Vince’s dick and soon Vince is slipping Jake some uncondomed cock. The boss returns and joins in. He too takes an unsafe turn at Jake’s ass. Vince cums in Jake's mouth. Richard cums in Jake’s ass. There is a close-up of the cum running from Jake’s ass. Pretty awesome stuff. None of these men are good-looking, but you will watch the scene with bulging eyes, a gaping mouth, and a very stiff dick. I would have liked to see someone suck Jake’s dick with its Prince Albert. But they didn’t. (Maybe they were afraid of chipping a tooth.) I would liked to have seen that uncovered piercing go into someone’s butt. But that didn’t happen either. Still, the scene was awesome. The problem is, that after this, the rest of the film seems tame. It’s not just a case of “been there, done that”; the remaining scenes just don’t have the same vitality or suprises.

The second scene, “Pool Buddies” features Shane, Blake Richards, and Jeff Allen. (Jeff is using the name Paul P-town. Don’t ask me why.) It’s another threesome with topping and bottoming. Blake and Jeff both top and bottom. Shane only tops. It’s a pool scene we’ve seen hundreds of times before. The only difference here is the lack of condoms.

The final scene is between Jeff Allen and Ray Butler, the man behind Hot Desert Knights. Once again Jeff is billed as Paul P-town. (Provincetown? Pisstown? Poke-it-to-me town?) It’s “First Year Buddies” and Jeff and Ray are supposedly celebrating their first-year anniversary. It’s a romantic scene played out before a roaring fire (natch). There’s lots of kissing and hugging before they take turns in a flip-flop bareback fuck. (I found this scene to go on a bit too long.)

A repositioning of the scenes might have been better. Perhaps, taking us from Romance to Rape instead of from Rape to Romance. As it was, I sort of lost interest after the first scene. I hope that doesn’t indicate I have a sadistic nature.

I’m always of two minds when it comes to these new bareback films. I do find them exciting and hot. But on the other hand I fear they will lead others to abandon safe-sex practices. There are a lot of venereal diseases out there. And you might find out in the worst possible way that your “monogamous” boyfriend hasn’t been all that faithful.
