Initial Expectations: I haven't seen any of King Midas's work, so I'm going in with an open mind.

Initial Reaction: It's straightforward, but shows some decent care.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty good. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I didn't notice a single background noise. The video is also pretty good, but lags a little behind the audio. It has just a hint of grain, but the lighting varies from scene to scene.

Music: There's a little porno music at the start of each scene, but it dies off quickly after the intro to each scene.

False Advertising: The cover lists both “Behind the Scenes” and “Bonus Footage”. Although there's a behind the scenes featurette on the DVD, the closest thing I could find to bonus footage was a few trailers, which to me doesn't count. I'm deducting a half point from the overall score because of this.

Menus: The main menu is okay, and gives an okay first impression as it blends a little animation with a few stills. The chapter menu is nicely done, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and the name of the bad ass bitch featured in it.

The Feature

Big Ass Bitches 5 keeps things pretty simple. Each scene starts out with a bit of a tease that works in teases of the upcoming scene. It moves on with the sex, and keeps that limited to one on one black on black action.

Scene 1 – Riyanne Cash and John E. Depth

Riyanne, a cute thin black chick with long hair and nicely natural tits start things out in a little sexy pink and black lingerie with tall black fuck-me boots. She goes right to work mouthing John's manhood as he sits back in a chair covered with blankets. He stands up as she continues to work on him, with Riyanne giving him some great eyes as she sucks. John helps her strip down before going right to fucking her missionary style. They keep it going with some doggie styled fucking before Riyanne climbs up to ride John cowgirl style. John nails Riyanne as she rolls around half on her side before he strokes himself onto her face.

This is a pretty good scene. Riyanne is a good looking black babe with a great ass, and she really looks nice to start out the scene. She gets into the sex quite nicely, and I love how much she uses her eyes when she sucks cock. At the same time, I couldn't help but be a little disappointed by the scene due to the camera work. It's very static and completely stuck on the penetration. That means that there were many times when the shot seemed like it would have been greatly improved by moving slightly one way or another so that you could see the reactions to the fucking rather than being pretty much limited to the in and out. This is far from a lame scene, but it could have been improved quite a bit with a little better camera work.

Scene 2 – Lori Alexia and Rico Strong

Lori starts her scene in some sexy pink lingerie strutting her stuff around an outdoor pool before heading back inside to let Rico kiss his way around her face, neck, and great tits. He keeps moving south to work on her twat with his pierced tongue while looking up at her before letting Lori reciprocate on his cock. This is a pretty hot scene. As always, Lori looks very nice, and her pink outfit looks very nice on her. She and Rico start out with some very nice chemistry, and it was great to see the scene start out focused on her pleasure rather than seeing how quickly the girl can get the guy ready and inside her. The scene moves along at a nice pace, and it's fun to see them putting in enough energy that Lori looks like she's getting tired and needs a break at times. Although the camera does focus on the penetration a little much, it's better than it was in the last scene and helps this one to pull ahead of it. This is a pretty hot scene with Lori Alexia giving another solid performance.

Scene 3 – Jada Fire and John E. Depth

Jada starts out her scene in a black bra, panties, fishnets, and platform boots rolling around on a bed touching herself. As she plays, John joins her with a drink and goes right down to start tonguing her as she rolls around showing her appreciation vocally. John pours a little of his wine around her as he licks, and when he's done working her over he lets Jada attack him orally on all fours. This is another pretty hot scene. Jada looks great, and as usual puts out a nicely vocal performance with plenty of energy. I really like John's attention to eating her out when he arrives and how he works in the wine. The camera work is a bit basic through the scene, but works pretty well. This is a pretty good scene.

Scene 4 – Pink and Mandingo

Pink, a very attractive light skinned black girl, starts the penultimate scene out in a similar outfit to Riyanne's outfit in the opening scene, only she goes for lime green instead of pink. After her tease she sits backwards on a barstool inside and lets Mandingo check it out and give it a few slaps. They head to the couch where she eagerly works her mouth around his goods before lying back to take him nearly balls deep into her twat. She continues to let her snatch swallow up Mandingo's meat in the cowgirls before bending over for him so he can fuck her like a dog. Finally, Pink happily takes a facial to wrap the scene up.

This is a hot scene. Pink has a killer body, and really gets into the scene with it. She's vocal and energetic, and I was completely amazed with how much she took of Mandingo's cock. I'm sure that's a big part of why the chemistry seemed so great between them, and it's also part of what helped this to be one of my favorite scenes in the movie. Unfortunately, the cameraman seemed to be just as into seeing how much of Mandingo she was taking, as it focused on the penetration way too much for my tastes here. This is a hot scene that had the potential to be much hotter.

Scene 5 – Queenie and John E. Depth

Queenie,a dyed and frazzled haired black babe starts things out in a little purple and black outfit letting John slap her ample ass. She works him over orally while paying as much attention to the camera as John and then lies back for him to go right to fucking her missionary style. Queenie throws plenty of looks at the camera with naughty smiles as he bones her, and after a bit rolls to her side. Not being a girl to be kept down, Queenie hops on top for a cowgirl ride before getting on all fours for John to take her from behind. Finally, John lets Queenie have a decent facial and almost takes out an eye.

This is an above average final scene. Although Queenie isn't bad in the looks department, I found her the least attractive in the movie. I was also a bit put off by her camera mugging, but at the same time it did kind of work for me because her little smiles at the camera gave the scene a kind of feel where she knows you're watching and is turned on and encouraging you. Beyond that, the scene just seemed pretty average. She looks like she's enjoying it, but John just seems lazy as he does her here. This is an above average scene, but a little weaker than the others.

Bad Ass Bitches 5 is a pretty hot all black release. I was very surprised with how couples friendly it was, since porn movies that have “ass” in the title with no anal are about as easy to find as politicians who actually work to reduce spending because they believe their working with other people's money rather than a magical money tree. The ladies here definitely have plenty of ass, and the camera isn't afraid to show it as they fuck. There's also nice chemistry among the cast which helps the movie to ride a bit above it's simple style. At the same time, the scenes often feel like they could have been a little hotter due to the camera work. The camera work often has a simple and basic feel, and rarely made it feel like whoever was behind it was as into the action as one would hope they wanted you to be. Bad Ass Bitches 5 is a solid all black release, with nothing to really give it that extra push to be a really good porno.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts about eight and a quarter minutes with about five seconds per very nice looking snapshot. Trailers are included for Fine Ass Sistas, Big Tit Brotha Lovers 7, Tough Brotha Love, Teenage Brotha Lovers 6, and Black Gag Faktor. There's also a behind the scenes featurette, a cast listing by scene, and internet information.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts two and a half minutes. It's mostly outtakes, but there's also some extra reaction from Jada Fire to her facial from John. Queenie also seems a bit surprised with John's pop as they have a chuckle about it. This is an okay behind the scenes featurette. There's a couple chuckles, but it's not long enough to give much more than that.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of King Midas's DVDs can be found online for between about $15 and $25 with a few stores offering them near the lower end. I'd aim a bit low here. The movie's not bad, but it's also not particularly special. The sex is pretty good, as are the extras. There's a little effort put into the extras, but not as much as the cover makes it appear. This is a decent DVD.
