Backyard Amateurs 16 Review

I dislike features that start off with ads and this one has several before we get to the main menu. There are two phone sex ads, one web site ad, one mobile phone porn ad, and a web cam chat ad.

The main feature starts with Ariel and Paul Harker. They start off teasing each other on a beach, then get into a car and end up at a pool in the backyard. They start off with a blow job and some oral action then start having sex without removing their clothes, just moved things aside as needed. They eventually shed the clothes as they go through a series of positions. He pops on her face, and we are treated to a solo scene of her in the shower cleaning up and playing with herself. Moderate energy between these two, and she keeps looking at the camera, which is the theme of a different series from the same studio. I wouldn't be surprised if this scene is used in different series.

Reno rides his motorcycle to the beach and meets up with Alex. She hops on his bike, and they head to her place. She sits on the bike and gives him a BJ. They move to the back yard for some sex standing up, where she looks to be quite uncomfortable. This pair is pretty quiet and have low energy despite a variety of positions. He pops on her face, and we see her at the sink cleaning up.

An old bridge over a stream is where Stacia and Damon Wild hook up. Starts off with a bit oral with some rimming, then a BJ which leads to everyone's favorite number, 69. They have some sex with him standing and she's on one of the railings of the bridge. This is the only scene to feature condom usage. They are quiet as they go through many positions. The energy level is low, but the scenery and the sounds of the babbling stream are nice.

Last up are three women on a boat, Alissa, Ashley and Kyla Kruz. Starts off with a lame interview (why?) then moves into applying lotion on each other. There is some tit play and butt humping. They eventually get down to some oral action and give one of the women a screaming orgasm. They then go below deck (again, why?) where this scene is no longer public/outdoors. Two women have some oral fun while the other takes care of herself.

There were audio problems with all four scenes, even though they weren't produced together. In scene 1, they kept hitting the microphones making thumping noises. Scene two had an odd stereo effect which made her moans appear to come from way off to the sides, no where near where the action was actually taking place. The third scene has a weird reverb effect on the guys voice which made it echo, yet her voice was unaffected. The last scene has some loud wind noise and you can clearly hear a still camera taking photos in the background, something I know is necessary, but none the less is distracting.

Video wasn't without its own problems. Scene one was rather softly focused and kept loosing focus. It was also a poor transfer as there are some motion artifacts. Motion artifacts also show up in scene three. Despite the nice scenery in scene four, often times the action is lost in the shadows, so some alternate lighting would have helped here.

For bonus features, there is the afore mentioned ads, and some website info. Then there are the previews. I lost count after 70 previews. That's right, I said 70. I didn't note what time it was when they started, but I wouldn't be surprised if the previews ran longer than the main feature. Last up is a blooper reel. While entertaining to watch the first time, it is the same one from previous Homegrown Video productions I've watched, so there wasn't anything new here for me.

While this movie isn't bad, it isn't great either. Audio and video issues, as well as lower than normal sexual energy make it hard for me to recommend this DVD. But fans of amateurs who expect the AV issues and less than typical sexual energy may find this DVD to be right up their alley. It would also appeal to folks who like watching sex occur outdoors. So to these groups, I'd recommend at least a rental. Decide on which group you belong to, and see the appropriate recommendation.
