Babysitting the Baumgartners is an epic-length feature film from Adam & Eve that was written by Kay Brandt, who also directed the film and has a cameo appearance, and is based on the novel of the same name written by Selena Kitt. Babysitting the Baumgartners brings us the characters of Doc Baumgartner (Mick Blue) and Carrie Baumgartner (Anikka Albrite). The Baumgarters are going to their summer beach house and invite Veronica “Ronnie,” their babysitter, to help take care of the children. Ronnie started babysitting the Baumgartner's children Henry and Janie when she was 15 and Ronnie has just turned 19. Once there, Mrs B (as Ronnie calls Carrie) starts seducing Ronnie.

Babysitting the Baumgartners runs for over four hours in length, making the movie one that can't be seen in just one viewing. There are far more sex scenes than plotted portions to the movie. I haven't read the book, however, according to both Kay Brandt and Selena Kitt, the screenplay stays relatively true to the book. Brandt has done a good job getting around the issue of the children that are present in the book. Apparently two sex scenes were cut from the book so the heavier sex than plot keeps the feel of Kitt's original work.

There is a nice variety to what the sex scenes have to offer with masturbation scenes, girl on girl scenes, boy on girl scenes, and boy on girl and girl scenes. The sex scenes look nice, very nice. They are well shot, with good lighting, and great performances from the cast members. As can be expected, Blue and Albrite have great chemistry together and Luvv does a great job as the naïve Ronnie. Both do well handling the limited plotted material and shine in the sex scenes. The sex scenes are long and there are a lot of them which means that often there is a sex scene, following a sex scene, following a sex scene, with no plot intermixed. There are times that you will forget you are watching a feature movie; some of the scenes feel a little repetitive as a result. Some of the scenes could have shortened to make a might tighter and more watchable feature film or turned into tease sequences.

The locations and sets used look good. The movie conveys the feel that it was taking place at a beach house throughout the movie. The technical details are great. The entire movie is very well shot and time was obviously taken with this movie since it includes footage shot from a helicopter and time lapse footage.

Babysitting the Baumgartners should thrill fans of the book and of the Baumgartner series. By all accounts, the movie stays mostly true to the original work by Kitt. The cast does a great job with their roles. Fans of feature movies should know in advance that the movie has more sex than plot and as long as that works for the viewer, Babysitting the Baumgartners has a lot to offer.

Babysitting the Baumgartners has been released by Adam & Eve on a two DVD set. The first disc contains the first half of the feature movie. The second disc contains the second half of the feature movie and all of the extras. Babysitting the Baumngartners is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 in 480p. The image presented on this release looks nice with a crisp and clear picture and very nice color rendering. All in all the movie has a nice vibrant and beautiful image presentation.

Babysitting the Baumgartners is presented with an English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo audio track. Given the material being presented in the movie, the stereo audio track is more than sufficient. There wouldn't have been much gained by offering a full surround track. The dialog is crisp and clear and is easy to understand throughout the entire movie.

Adam & Eve has included several extras on the release. There is a 26 minute behind the scenes piece that is included on the disc. There is a slightly over a minute audition reel with Sara Luvv, Jay Taylor, and Christiana Cinn. Chapter two from Kay Brandt's novel Safe Landings is offered as a PDF document along with Chapter two from Selena Kitt's novel Babysitting the Baumgartners. There is a bonus scene from Safe Landings with Alison Rey, Brenda James, and Ryan McLane that lasts for 28 minutes. There is also a photo gallery included on the release.

I am surprised that Adam & Eve didn't offer this release also in a deluxe version for a little more money that also came with a print copy of Kitt's novel Babysitting the Baumgartners or an eBook version of the full novel.

Babysitting the Baumgartners is the second adult movie to take a New York Times bestselling novel and put it on the blue screen. Selena Kitt's novel, of the same name, has been brought to life on the screen which should thrill fans of the novel. The movie is a bit light on plot and very heavy on sex. Viewers looking for a plot heavy adult feature will wish to pass on this one. Viewers who are interested in seeing developed characters having sex should enjoy this one. Adam & Eve has done a great job with the release.
