Initial Expectations: I’ve had mixed results from this series, but the cast is impressive enough and enough of the movies in the past have been good that I have some decent hope here!

Initial Reaction: The DVD doesn’t quite match up to the cover, but it is a fun and hot movie!

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects go a long way into giving the feeling a very artistic feeling. The audio is clear and well balanced, but the level is adjusted slightly throughout the movie to draw certain things out. There’s a few background noises during a couple of the scenes, but they’re normally very low key. The video is extremely artistic. The movie appears to have been shot on video, but was then treated with filters to give it a more film-like quality. The lighting varies as well so that certain colors are drawn out, as well as mixing in black and white footage, and it stops many times to give the movie more of a photo shoot type of a feeling. It’s all very well done, but those who don’t care for artistic effects added to movies will probably be very turned off.

Music: The music varies nicely from scene to scene. The changes aren’t always large, but they nicely help out the scenes with a sexy feel. They’re often a little on the loud side, but even that frequently works for the scenes.

False Advertising: The cover states that there are interviews in addition to the behind the scenes featurette. Although I could find the behind the scenes featurette, I couldn’t find any interviews anywhere else on the DVD. I always enjoy interviews with the stars, so because of this I’m deducting a half point from the overall score. The cover also claims multiple angles. I checked many times through the feature and never found one. I didn’t go through the entire movie hitting the angle button to try to find them, but I’m still feeling a bit lied to by not being able to find any alternate angles.

Menus: The main menu is pretty simple, and adds a little animation around a picture of the boxcover. The chapter menu is pretty standard and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a scene number.

The Feature: As usual, the Babes Illustrated series focuses on bikinis and bikini models. This time the focus is on Nadine (Ann Marie), a super model (or as the title sequence claims a super nude model) with an attitude. Nadine knows just how she likes things, and isn’t afraid to tell people if something’s wrong, such as not having a straw for her bottled water or if her straw is the wrong color. Babes Illustrated 13 takes a look at Nadine from her sets and talks with her, the cast on her sets, and the other models on the set with her.

Ann Marie takes on Kelli Tyler and Simone Pryce in the opening scene. Ann starts things out with Simone before the girls team up to pleasure her orally. Ann gets on the bottom of the pile before playing with both of them and the three of them diddling themselves while watching each other. They kiss Ann’s nipples before teaming up on Simone, and finish things up with a great kiss.

This is a nicely done scene. There’s some nice chemistry between the girls and they move around nicely to keep things going throughout the scene. The lighting varies nicely throughout the scene to give it a great artistic feel, yet it rarely interferes with the action. This is a nice way to start out the movie!

Holly Hollywood and Avy Scott get busy for the second scene. Holly rubs Avy’s pussy before tonguing her pink and pucker. Avy returns the favor with her tongue and fingers, sinking a finger into Holly’s ass while they sixty nine and breaking out a jackrabbit vibe to work her pussy over with afterwards. Holly works on Avy with toys as well before they finish things up with some nice caressing, kissing, and a great smile.

This is a pretty hot scene! Avy and Holly have great energy together, and really make the scene work. I’m used to Holly dominating the women she’s with, but Avy matches her better here than any other woman I think I’ve seen her with. Avy is amazing here and turns this into a very hot scene with Holly amazingly acting as her able apprentice!

Ann Marie teams up with Gen Padova and Cherokee in the third scene. They get down and dirty right away examining each other from head to feet before Gen gets stuck in the middle so she can tongue Ann Marie while Cherokee works on her gash. Ann takes her turn in the middle next before breaking out a strap-on and going at Gen from behind. Cherokee takes her turn with Ann Marie’s cock cowgirl style so Gen can spank her ass while she rides and eat Ann Marie as well. Finally the girls suck Ann’s fake cock until it’s nice and clean and share a three-way kiss.

This is a nicely done scene, and Ann Marie deserves a lot of credit for it getting that far. She has a playfulness that comes across amazingly well here, and she drives the entire scene. Cherokee seems a little slow to get going here, but Ann draws her into the scene very nicely as it moves along. Gen isn’t quite as restrained, but Ann seems to draw more out of her as well. It’s a nicely done all girl scene with good energy and chemistry that nicely grows as the scene goes on.

Model Buffy Sinclair and photographer Felix Vicious get it on during a shoot in the penultimate scene. Felix takes charge and drops down to attack Buffy’s beaver with her doubly pierced tongue. She breaks occasionally to snap a picture of Buffy and then lays back on the edge of the pool they’re next to so Buffy can work on her. Buffy gives Felix’s shaved slit the tongue and finger treatment before letting Felix take care of her a bit more with the help of her handy dandy strap-on. Felix works Buffy through several positions while passing her camera back and forth with her assistant until she finally slows down to a natural stop and gives Buffy a few soft kisses.

Half of me wants to yawn at this scene as this scene for being very similar to so many other lesbian scenes out there. The other half of me really likes the scene because the girls look like they’re having a lot of fun and keep things playful with the camera. Felix is really impressive here, and although I’ve only seen Buffy in a couple scenes so far, I think this is the most impressive one I’ve seen.

Ann Marie finishes things up with Ramona Luv and Red Heaven on a huge rock structure. Ramona (I think) starts things out diddling herself naturally and with some of the toys from the basket she brought with her. Ann Marie and Red join her after a bit and team up on her so she won’t feel quite so lonely. Red gets a little double love as well before Ann breaks out a couple of toys and works on both of them. Finally the girls turn their attention to Ann Marie with the help of a flashing blue toy. Finally the girls seal the deal with a three way kiss.

This is a nice scene, but although I liked it I can see many others really disliking it. The lighting is very low for this scene, and makes it one of the most artistic scenes in the movie. The colors really stand out here, and even provide some of the illumination for the scene. There’s still nice energy between the girls and great chemistry, but the lighting is low enough that it’s hard to see them. It also feels a bit run of the mill, but the artistic effects really saved it for me.

Babes Illustrated 13 is a lot of fun! Much of the credit here goes to Ann Marie, who plays her role as the super-bitch with such grace and spirit that she’s laughably fun in every one of her scenes. She plays high and mighty as if it’s no problem, and never seems to stumble in her role whether it’s playing her character or taking on her co-stars sexually. The style of the movie is also very nice, as it works to the biographical form of may documentaries very nicely while also bringing the sex into the scenes very nicely. Finally, there’s the sex, which not surprisingly with this feature, is very well done. It isn’t overly soft or overly nasty, but does blend a nice variety of scenes together in a very nice way. The only complaint I can hear people having is that much of the sex has a very artistic feel to it, but that worked for me here. The feature is about models shooting magazine layouts, and every scene feels like a moving artistic magazine layout. Babes Illustrated 13 is a very nicely done lesbian movie which I’d strongly recommend to anybody who likes more artistic all girl action.

Extras: Metro has put some very nice effort into their extras for this DVD. There’s supposedly multiple angles, a behind the scenes featurette, and the usual Metro extras. Although I tried, I couldn’t find a single multiple angle throughout the entire feature. Trailers are included for Blue Screen, Being Porn Again, 18 and a James Avalon movie that doesn’t appear to have a title yet but looks darn hot. The photo gallery contains roughly two dozen nice looking snapshots. There’s also internet and phone sex information.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts nearly ten minutes. You get to see a little of the screwing around when the scenes aren’t being shot, as well as the scenes themselves being shot. James Avalon makes a few appearances, but most of it moves quickly through a few of the scenes. It’s a pretty simple behind the scenes featurette, which I guess is to be expected with the length of it, but it feels a bit on the rough side. There’s a few nice moments, but there isn’t anything overly impressive here.

Overall: Currently, most of the Babes Illustrated series can be found online for between $12 and $25 with a few stores offering them near the low end. The low end is more than fair if you enjoy artistic all girl porn. The movie is fun and has some hot sex, and the technical aspects are nicely done. There’s even some decent extras, although they didn’t quite match up to the cover claims.

Note to Metro: Please add a way for viewers to know when there’s an alternate angle if at all possible. I never saw one here although I checked repeatedly throughout the movie. Also, a submenu for the trailers would be nice so that the viewer can jump directly to whatever trailer they want to see (as well as letting them clearly know what the movie is called). Finally, it would be great if you would list at least the leading performer in each scene in the chapter menu rather than just listing them by scene number.
