Initial Expectations: Frank Thring has impressed me ever since I saw some of his Private Pirate movies. With a cast like this, I can’t help but still have high expectations.

Initial Reaction: It’s very different from the original, and not as good either.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is clear and well balanced for the most part, although there are a few background noises during the outdoor scenes. The video is also very good. There’s a little grain and pixelation in a few spots, but it isn’t bad enough to interfere much. The lighting is consistent from angle to angle, and leaves very few shadows in any of the scenes.

Music: The music has the typical porno style to it, and varies between resting nicely in the background of the scenes and being a bit on the loud side.

Menus: The main menu has some nice animation that gives the feature a fun first impression. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of the scene and a chapter number, and then lets you choose what point you want to go to in the scene. It’s a nicely done chapter menu with the only thing missing being a list of who’s in each scene rather than a chapter number.

The Feature: Trevor Zen and Joey Ray are competing DJs hoping to work the Hustler party. After Trevor has a threesome with his woman and Joey’s, Trevor’s audition tape mysteriously disappears. He’s sure Joey took it, and sets out to prove it, no matter how much sex it takes.

Friday starts things off with Lezley Zen as their boat approaches Miami. She samples Lezley’s tits and then lets Lezley attack her pussy and ass with her tongue and fingers. As usual, Friday really gets into the ass attention, and I was almost disappointed when the girls go over to bring Trevor Zen into the action with a little cocksucking. Friday moves off to rub one out as she watches Lezley ride Trevor in the cowgirls and doggie style. The girls finish things up sharing the facial between them, which isn’t much to share. It’s a darn hot scene! Normally things seem to go down more than a little when a threesome keeps splitting like it does here, but Friday looks to enjoy herself so much that it actually increases here. This is a great start way to the movie!

Fujiko Kano starts out eating mistress Lesley Zen’s pussy in the second scene. They’re joined by Lea de Mae, who samples Lezley’s tits before riding her face. Lea takes her turn as the center of attention next, before Fujiko gets to be in the middle. Fujiko even gets the added pleasure of a dildo that Lezley fucks her with. Although pretty simple, it’s still a good scene. The girls have nice chemistry together as well as some nice energy, which makes the scene work despite its lack of creativity.

Next, Trevor Zen hooks up with Lea de Mae and Jordan Perry. Trevor licks Lea’s snatch while she sucks Jordan’s cock. Since Jordan’s fully warmed up, he gets the first chance to spoon Lea, but that doesn’t slow down her cocksucking as she prepares Trevor. It’s an okay scene that seemed like it should have been better. Daniella Rush and Joey Ray start the penultimate scene with Joey tonguing and fingering her pussy, as well as giving her toes a little attention. She returns the favor with a nice blowjob before letting Joey boff her from behind. He also gets to boff her behind, as she moves to slide her ass on his cock reverse cowgirl style and even takes a few ass to mouths. Danielle finishes things taking a very nice facial. Sadly, it’s an average scene at best. The chemistry is average, as is the action. For Daniella Rush, this is a heck of a disappointing scene.

Finally, Trevor Zen takes on Fujiko Kano while Brandon takes on Mariella. The girls start things off sucking their partners before Brandon starts fucking Mariella missionary style while Trevor goes down on Fujiko’s shaved slit. Mariella and Brandon also do it doggie style before she gets a facial that makes me think she couldn’t have looked less into it if she found out it was piss. Oddly, Trevor goes from eating Fujiko, who’s really into it, to jerking off onto her tongue. It gives the scene a weird feeling scene that didn’t completely work for me. Mariella and Brandon didn’t seem into each other that much, although Mariella did look to really enjoy watching Fujiko and Trevor. Fujiko and Trevor’s part of the scene seemed like they edited out the fucking, and the way Fujiko was getting into Trevor’s tongue really made me want to see her take the bone. All in all, it’s a pretty average scene, which is sad because Fujiko and Trevor had enough chemistry to turn this one into the best scene in the feature.

Babes 2 is a pretty average fuck flick. There isn’t much of a plot, and what there is often seems a little silly. There’s some great stuff in the sex, but sadly it never continues through the entire scene. Friday’s threesome with Lezley and Trevor Zen is easily the best overall scene in the feature, but Trevor’s oral action with Fujiko Kano is one of the best sequences in the movie. Sadly, stars like Daniella Rush and Lea de Mae who normally make the entire movie, were a little disappointing here. Surprisingly, the sex here was also much tamer than in the original, which might also have been why I was a little disappointed with it. Babes 2 is a pretty average porno.

Extras: Phone sex commercials are included before you even get to the main menu. Although I hate to see this, I can tolerate it here since you can easily skip past them. The photo gallery lasts about two minutes with about six seconds per great looking full screen photo. Commercials are included for the Hustler website and magazine. Trailers are included for most of Hustler’s series, as well as a director’s profile and a behind the scenes featurette.

Claudine McHie interviews Frank Thring for the director’s profile, which lasts about nine minutes. Most of the interview revolves around Mr. Thring’s Mr. Beaver series and the places he’d like to take the series. He also talks about some of his exploits in earlier episodes in the series. It’s a fun interview with some great humor in it.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about seven and a half minutes, and also comes from the Mr. Beaver series. It’s a nice mix of interviews with Frank Thring, showing the scenes, being captured, and the actual scenes. I would have liked a behind the scenes for the actual movie here, but this isn’t all that uncommon on some of Hustler’s earlier releases. On the plus side, it’s fun enough that I’m really feeling the need to check out the Mr. Beaver series.

Overall: Currently,Babes 2 can be found online for between $17 and $30, with most stores offering it for around $20. This almost seems a little high for what you get here. Much of the sex is pretty average, and there isn’t much fo a plot. The transfer’s pretty good, and although there are some decent extras, they aren’t that fitting for the DVD.

Note to Hustler: It would have been nice to have extras that better fit the feature.
