Initial Expectations: I've been extremely impressed with what I've seen from the Romance line, so combining that with this release being nominated for Best Release in the XRCO Awards I'm going in with very high expectations.

Initial Reaction: It's another excellent addition to the already excellent Romance line from New Sensations.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects show a lot of care. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I didn't notice any background noises. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks great. It's very nicely lit and has a touch of softness that works very well for the overall feel of the movie.

Music: The music is very well done and definitely helps out the overall movie. It's well balanced with the rest of the audio and has a soft feel that works very well for the movie.

Watermark Warning: Although the normally don’t bother me much, there is a small and tasteful watermark warning that stays in the lower right corner. This made it very easy to filter out for me, and quite honestly, I didn’t notice it unless I thought about it.

Menus: The main menu is okay, and blends a couple stills with a little generic animation and soft clips from the movie in the background for a nice first impression. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and either a title for the scene or the names of the performers in each scene.

The Feature

Samantha thinks she owns the world when her loving boyfriend Dale proposes to her, but neither of them expect her to get in an accident and end up in a coma shortly after leaving their house soon after getting engaged. Dale stays by her side as much as he can at first, but as the months go by he can't hold on and leaves her. Samantha isn't quite sure why it's worth being back when she finally comes out of her coma months later, but thanks to Danny in the next bed starts to experience a bit of life again.

Brunette Samantha and Dale start out kissing in a candlelit room before Samantha lays back on a bed covered with rose petals for him to worship her leg and suck her tits. This is yet another nicely done scene. The opening is very nicely done and has some very nice emotion to it as well as a bit of fun. There's plenty of chemistry once again, and as usual the action is nicely captured and moves at a good pace. Allie and T.J. continue the string of hot and romantic sex with their pairing.

Awakening to Love is yet another fantastic addition to New Sensation's Romance line. There's a very nice plot with plenty of emotion to give the movie its framework, and it's helped nicely by a cast who actually shows the ability to act as well as fuck. Unlike so many other releases aimed at couples, Awakening to Love continues the Romance line's ability to play to the strengths of couples sex with plenty of romance and chemistry rather than dumbing down the action and making it so soft in the hopes that nobody gets offended by an adult movie having sexuality that it kills any sexuality the scene might have. Every scene here is filled with chemistry and romance, and is made all the stronger by very well done camera work. If there's a complaint to Awakening to Love I can't see it, but it is very easy to see why it was nominated for Best Release in the 2010 XRCO Awards.

Trailers are included for several other New Sensations releases. The photo gallery lasts about four minutes. There's also a behind the scenes featurette and weblinks.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about a half hour. Samantha starts out chatting about the movie, herself, and food, as well as what she looks for in a guy, what she can do without, and the most romantic thing somebody's done for her. Danny also shares one of his more romantic moments, thoughts on women, and other New Sensations work. Misti talks about acting as she practices her lines and her refrigerator, and also gives a little show. Dale talks about his time through the industry as well as away from it, and porn being a life sentence. Allie talks about herself, her hobbies, and sex as well as showing off a bit. There's also a few jokes around the set along with a chat with Some about himself and his romantic moment as Danny jokes around behind him. This is a very nice behind the scenes featurette. You get plenty of fun and personality with the cast as well as a very nice feeling around the set. This is a good addition to the overall DVD.

Currently, many New Sensations DVDs can be found online for between about $16 and $25 with most stores offering them for under $20. This one's well worth the money. The movie is very well done with plenty of care put into the sex as well as the movie as a whole. The technical aspects show plenty of care and the DVD is nicely helped out by a long behind the scenes featurette. This is a great release.
