Initial Expectations: I’ve had mixed luck with Adam & Eve’s compilations. Their ones that have focuses on a single star have been good enough that I’m looking forward to this one a little.

Initial Reaction: It’s a must have for all of Ava’s fans, and a compilation that shows some very nice care.

Audio /Video Quality: As usual with most compilations, the technical aspects vary a bit. Luckily most of the scenes here are fairly recent, which means that there isn’t a lot of variation from scene to scene. The audio is normally nicely balanced and clear, as is the video. There is a little dubbing and a few shadows in some of the scenes, as well as a little grain and other common problems, but they’re all fairly rare and don’t ever get in the way of the feature. There is one scene that’s shot on film here, so the problems are a little more prevalent there.

Music: One never expects a compilation to have consistent music throughout the movie, and this one’s no exception. The music is fairly consistent, thanks to much of the music being done by the same composer, but there is a little variation. There’s also a variation in the balance, which ranges from very nicely balanced to very overpowering.

Menus: The main menu is kinda classy with some decent animation. The chapter menu lets you pick a scene based on a small clip of each scene and the title of the movie the scene came from.

The Feature: Needless to say, but I will anyway in case somebody who’s reading this rode the short bus to school or is used to Vivid’s compilations named after a star, Ava Vincent: Blonde Vixxxen is a collection of scenes Ava Vincent did for Adam & Eve. As near as I can tell, it’s darn close to being a complete collection of Ava Vincent’s scenes for Adam & Eve. Each scene is nicely preceded by a screen to let you know where the movie came from and who joins Ava in the scene.

Ava starts things out with Michael J. Cox in a scene from A Midsummer Night’s Cream. Michael kisses each set of Ava’s lips by the fire before she reciprocates nicely. They move on through cowgirl and spooning before Michael decorates Ava’s chest. It’s a soft and sweet scene that still has some nice passion. It’s a nice way to start out the compilation, and shows that heat and nastiness don’t always have to go together.

Luckily they could get a blanket out from under the kitchen sink I was pretty sure Dale was lugging around in Ava’s bags. It’s one of those scenes that almost everybody can relate to. The scene from Crystal Dreams between Ava, Lena Ramone, and Joey Ray was easily one of my favorites here, as was Ava’s pairing with Gina Ryder and Mark Davis from After Midnight and Chloe and Steven St. Croix in The Edge. There’s a couple slower scenes as well, such as Ava’s scenes from Emerald Rain, but having this kind of variety only works to the feature’s advantage. You get to see almost every side of Ava that she’s shown in her movies, and the variety and the care that Adam & Eve have given it make Ava Vincent Blonde Vixxxen a great compilation.

Overall: Many of Adam & Eve’s compilations can be found online for between $10 and $25, with many stores offering them for under $15. If you’re a fan of Ava Vincent, this one’s well worth your money. You get almost every scene Ava did for Adam & Eve with a very nice transfer. There isn’t much for extras here, but with over two and a half hours of footage, I can’t complain too much.

Note to Adam & Eve: It’s great to see your compilations retain their focus. My only wish here is that the feature would have been a little longer to include all of the scenes Ava shot for you.
