The Little Details

NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. Finally, the camera work has a different feel, as it’s often shot from a tripod or with somebody who doesn’t have the technical training or experience of professional cameramen. That said, amateur and homemade features have a great charm to them, simple because the people in them are doing what they’re doing to have fun and because they enjoy it. All the things that separate them from studio porn contribute to that charm, I hope people will keep that in mind when checking out this review and not just look at the ratings as the ultimate word on this release. Since the technical aspects are normally lacking and there normally isn’t much for extras in amateur features, I’ve weighted my overall rating more heavily towards the sex than I do in most studio porn.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced for the most part, and although there are a few minor background noises and balance problems they're always very minor. The video is presented in the full frame format and looks pretty good. There's a bit of grain throughout the movie, as well as a bit of inconsistent lighting and camera motion. That said, when one factors in that this is a homemade amateur release the technical aspects are actually pretty impressive.

Watermark Warning: Although the normally don’t bother me much, there is a small and tasteful watermark warning that stays in the lower right corner. This made it very easy to filter out for me, and quite honestly, I didn’t notice it unless I thought about it.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu keeps Shot at Home’s usual style with their logo and a photo from the movie. The chapter menu is also simple, and lets you choose where to go in the movie based on six clips from the movie.

The Feature

Autumn is a hot busty blonde with a camera and a Sybian sex toy. Jena has black hair, pierced nipples, and a multitude of tattoos. Autumn brings her camera and toy to meet up with Jena so they can have plenty of fun.

Jena starts out pulling on a little baby blue lingerie in the bathroom as Autumn checks her out. Autumn has Jena wait for her on the bed and checks her out briefly before joining her on the bed in a little black and pink lingerie. They check each other out with plenty of wandering hands before stripping down with Jena making the first move to suck Autumn's nice big tits and Autumn reciprocating soon after. Autumn is very happy when Jena says that she's experienced with a strap-on, and quickly heads off for some lube as Jena puts it on. This is a very nice opening scene. Jena's style is far from my tastes, but she seems like a really nice girl and has a great attitude. She also has very nice chemistry with Autumn and both girls seem like they're having quite a bit of fun. Jena doesn't seem too familiar with the camera and its limitations, but Autumn once again shows quite a bit of skill with it and helps this to be a very well captured scene. This is a very nice start to the movie.

Autumn keeps hold of the camera as Jena heads into the shower to wash up. They chat a little as they wash up with Jena taking the first shower and Autumn washing up afterwards and finding out that Jena wasn't kidding about the water being a bit on the chilly side. Of course Autumn pays some nice attention to her shapely tits and ass, and they each dry off before the scene comes to an end.

This is a nice little scene. Sexually there isn't much here, but it does have plenty of great interaction between the girls along with a bit of eye candy. It's on the short side, but it has a very natural feel to everything about it including its length. Jena seems to have a little better handle on the camera work when she takes her turn with it in this scene, and Autumn as always, comes off as more than pleasant. This is a nice continuation of the opening scene.

Jena walks in wearing velvety mauve sweats over a white shirt claiming that she isn't quite sure why she's there nor does she know anything about a Sybian. Autumn talks with Jena a little about herself before showing her the Sybian and some of how it works. She helps Jena start stripping down and talks to her a little more about the toy as Jena helps her strip down as well. The girls suck each other's tits before Autumn gets on the Sybian for the first ride with Jena working the controls. After a bit she decides it's time to trade places, and lets Jena ride the cock attachment on the toy while she sucks Jena's nipples and rubs her pussy a little. This is a very nice final scene. Once again the continuity is a bit weird with Autumn chatting with Jena as if they've just met in the third scene rather than the first, but that's about the only complaint I can have about it. There's very good chemistry between the girls and they keep a very playful feeling from start to finish. Although the scene lasts well over a half hour, it never drags and the girls keep it very fun from start to finish with action that's well captured both by hand and a tripod. This is another nicely done scene.

Autumn's Sybian Lessons 4 is a nice addition to the series. Jena's style and all her tattoos didn't do a lot for me, but the chemistry she had with Autumn made it very easy for me to look past them. Autumn, as always, looks great and does a great job leading the movie. She has a very good handle on what her camera can and can't do, and captures the action very nicely from start to finish. There's great chemistry and a very friendly feeling between the girls from start to finish in the movie. As usual with Shot at Home's releases, there's also an extremely natural feeling to the entire movie where the girls always come off as just being themselves rather than trying to change anything for the camera. Toys in all girl movies can be very hit or miss for me as they often seem like a crutch, but I love the Sybian factor here because instead of coming off as a crutch it feels like something new to explore and share. Autumn's Sybian Lessons 4 is another very nice addition to the series.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, most of Shot at Home's DVDs can be found on their website for around $20. If you're a fan of the Sybian, or just want all girl action with plenty of chemistry, this one should be worth the money. The action moves at a nice pace and is very well captured for just being the two girls and a tripod. The technical aspects are nicely done and there's a touch of effort put into the extras with a half hour preview reel. This is a nicely done DVD, just as I've come to expect from Shot at Home.

Note to Shot at Home: This series seems like something that would be a little different for you. I hope you keep it coming and expand out in a few more areas.
