Audio /Video Quality:
The technical aspects don't quite make the average mark. The audio has a very definite hiss to it that makes the dialogue hard to hear, which is important with releases like this. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen but is also troubled. There's some noticeable grain and the video seems choppy at times rather than being smooth. It's nicely lit with a decent eye behind the camera, but even that falters at time with a bit of camera motion.
The Movie:
Akira Lane puts a little spin on the seduction angle in The Audition. Here she and her man use auditions for softcore sex scenes as a way to hook up with hot chicks. Here that hot chick happens to be busty Asian Jessica Bangkok.

Akira and Alec start out chatting about Jessica and Akira's thoughts about her and how they're going to seduce her. The Audition is a fun release that's unfortunately held back by the little technical end of things. On the plus side, the cast here is great. Akira and Alec have great chemistry, and Jessica fits in perfectly with the girls always looking plenty sexy in their lingerie and other outfits. Both scenes move along at a very nice pace, and although the movie is barely an hour and a quarter, it feels like a solid release. I really hope this becomes a series and that Akira works in two auditions per movie to make it a little most substantial so it can better compete against most other porn releases. Both scenes have a very nice sexual pace and plenty of chemistry, but the editing is a bit rough and the camera work does seem limited and falls a bit short in the first scene. Add in the below average audio and the technical end of things holds The Audition back a fair amount. It's too bad as Akira, Jessica, and Alec have plenty going for them here and do make this a very enjoyable little feature. The Audition may be flawed, but it has enough going for it to be a nicely solid rental.
The Extras:
As usual with fetish releases, there's no real effort put into the extras. The only extra you get here is a photo gallery lasting about ten minutes.
