Initial Expectations: ”i just wanted to shoot scenes where u can tell that the performers are into each other.” With that one sentence about Ass Attack, Manuel Ferrara made me know that I really needed to see it. Needless to say, I’m really looking forward to this one.

Initial Reaction: It might be the best gonzo anal movie to come out of 2005.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are above average. The audio is clear and well balanced, but there are a few background noises here and there. The video is pretty good. It’s lit very realistically, but at the same time feels just a little on the lower side. There’s also a softer feeling which I suspect is due to roughly three and a half hours of full audio and video being put on the DVD pushing it’s limits a little much.

Music: There’s a little music during some of the teases that’s kept quietly in the background. It’s very sparse, and stands out nicely in the movie because of it.

Menus: The main menu is very nicely done, and does a great job working together a bit of the movie, the boxcover, and some animation. The chapter menu shows some nice care and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and the name of the girl in it.

The Feature

With Ass Attack, Manuel Ferrara wanted to keep things simple. Each scene would focus on anal, and would have either him or Michael Stefano taking on only one girl by themselves. Yes, it’s a simple idea, but Manuel decided to set things apart by focusing on chemistry in the scenes.

Ass Attack is easily one of the best anal movies I think I’ve ever watched. There’s no doubting the chemistry in the scenes, and although the action is pretty much the same in every scene I was completely pulled into every scene due to the chemistry. Yes, there’s a bit of nastiness with an anal cream pie, ass to mouth, and swallowing, but the chemistry makes the sex here more friendly and appealing than what I’ve seen in at least 90% of the movies that were aimed at couples and women. Yes, it’s nastier sex, but it also feels like natural sex that evolves on its own through the scene rather than being scripted in any way. Most importantly, Manuel, Michael, and the girls feel completely into each other. Okay, Manuel and Michael don’t quite have the same chemistry, but I’m sure that I’m not alone in being thankful for that. In all seriousness, there isn’t a single scene that even stoops down to the “very good” level. Ass Attack is easily one of the best anal movies I’ve seen in a long, long time and is definitely worth checking out.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts about six and a half minutes with out seven seconds per decent looking snapshot. There’s also a striptease, behind the scenes featurettes, a bonus scene, cumshot recaps, and weblinks.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts twenty one minutes. Claire starts things out getting stuck with Manuel and having a little fun before chatting with Juan Cuba about Oregon and sex. Jasmine is next, who talks a little about being busy with sex before getting dressed up in red. He chats with Taryn next, who talks about anal and Adult DVD Talk! There’s even a bit of hickey fun with Taryn. Ayana is next, who has lots of passionate fun with Michael as well as chatting with Juan. It’s a very nicely done behind the scenes featurette, and I think my only complaint is that Alektra doesn’t appear in it.

Currently, most Currently, many of Red Light District’s DVDs can be found online for between about $14 and $25, with several stores offering them in the $15 range. This one is worth it even at the high end. The technical aspects are good, but not great, and they’re the only thing to hold this one back from a perfect overall rating. The sex is amazing, and there’s great effort put into the extras. This is an excellent movie and a great DVD.
