The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I don't think I heard a single background noise. The video is presented in the full screen format, and also looks pretty good. The lighting is a little on the dark side, but feels like it's done intentionally to increase the erotic effect. This does lead to a touch of grain, but it's not too bad and never interferes with the action. The camera work is smooth, but the editing is sometimes a bit choppy.

False Advertising: As happens all too commonly with Hustler, although the cover lists a behind the scenes featurette among the extras there's no behind the scenes featurette to be found on the DVD. It also appears like one was done as Steven Steelberg is credited for it in the movie. I'm deducting a half point form the overall score because of this.

Menus: The main menu works through a few clips from the movie before settling in on a still with a little simple animation for a decent first impression. The chapter menu nicely lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and the name of the girl(s) in it, while the star menu lets you choose a scene based on a star's name and photo before choosing where you want to go in the scene sexually.

The Feature

Asian Fever: Sex Objects focuses on style. Each scene features one or two Asian beauties in black lingerie that frequently comes with stockings. After a bit of tease it works through sex that stays on the tamer side of things before ending with the pop shot going in various locations.

Scene 1 – Mika Tan and Lee Stone

Lee sets aside his issue of Asian Fever to admire Mika, who's looking smoking hot in some black fetishwear and porno heels as she climbs into his lap to kiss him and let him spank her ass. She drops to her knees to see how much of his crooked cock she can take in her mouth before Lee picks her up and flips her upside down for a standing sixty-nine. The scene was also held back a little by the choppy editing that cut between positions rather than showing the position changes. This is a pretty hot scene, but with another minute or two for position changes it would have been a lot hotter.

Scene 2 – Kina Kai, Mya Luanna, and Alec Knight

Kina and Mya star the second scene out in black lingerie, stockings, and shoes laying back and fucking themselves with dildos. It also has a very slow pace that makes you wonder if it was aimed at the nursing home crowd. Seriously, the scene runs almost twenty minutes and there's only one position for each girl! There's some nice shots here, but it feels more concerned with keeping things easy on the eyes than having any kind of substance to it.

Scene 3 – Veronica Lynn and James Deen

Veronica starts her scene in black fishnet stockings and long gloves with a decorated bikini as James, wearing only shades, grabs at her through a decorative door. Scene 4 – Roxy Jezel and Brett Rockman

Roxy starts out the penultimate scene in thigh high black boots with black lingerie sitting back in a chair and rubbing her pussy as Brett sits next to the chair stroking his cock and watching her. That also draws the attention to the slow pace of the scene, including the doggie fucking that seemed to go on forever, and how much Roxy mugs the camera. I'm not sure this scene makes it to the average level.

Scene 5 – Ashley Marie and Reno

Ashley starts out the final scene laying back in some sexy red and black lingerie by some candles and slowly fucking her bald beaver with a pink dildo. This is an okay at best scene once again. Ashley is darn cute and looks like she could get into the sex well, but sadly she focuses on the camera a little too much. The action also drags again, especially with the blowjob after the missionary fucking. I ended up thankful that I have a remote watching this scene.

I guess Asian Fever: Sex Objects is supposed to be more about style than substance. The style does have some nice things going for it. The girls are hot and I love the sexy, fetishy outfits they all wear as well as how many of the locations feel a bit more romantic rather than just being somewhere to fuck. There's also a focus on beauty throughout the movie, which is very nice to see and something that's becoming all too rare in porn. At the same time, while there's a large focus on style and a good focus on beauty, there's very little attention towards heat and chemistry. The scenes often feel drawn out and almost every scene drags at some point. The girls also pay more attention to the cameras than they do their partners, which never lets the chemistry get going. Asian Fever: Sex Objects has a nice look and style, but in the end it feels hollow.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Hustler’s DVDs can be found online for between about $16 and $25 with stores offering it everywhere in between. Aim low or rent this one first. The movie has a nice look, but the chemistry is very weak. The technical aspects are pretty well done, but there's no real effort put into the extras at all. I want to like this one, but very little of the DVD lived up to its potential or promises.

Note to Hustler: It's nice to see you putting some attention towards things looking beautiful. I hope you put the same attention towards chemistry and delivering what the boxcover advertises in the future. It looks especially bad when you actually credit somebody in the closing credits for doing a BTS without including it on the DVD.
