The Short Story

Initial Expectations: This is the first I’ve seen of DAC’s work, and after reading his posts in the Adult DVD Talk Forums I’m really looking forward to seeing what he can do behind the camera.

Initial Reaction: It’s not perfect, but it made me an instant fan of DAC.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very nicely done and do a very nice job of helping establish the feel of the movie. The audio is clear and very nicely balanced. There were a couple very minor background noises, but that’s the only complaint I can have about the audio. The video was also very nicely done. It’s presented in the widescreen format, and makes very nice use of both lighting and artistic effects.

Music: There’s a little music during the scene setups, but that’s it.

Disc Problems: There are phone sex and web commercials before the main menu that you can’t skip. This always pisses me off, so I’ve deducted a half point from the overall rating because of it.

Menus: The menus are okay. The main menu has some minor animation and the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of the scenes only.

The Feature

Asia Noir focuses on Asian women with black men. It’s not quite an all sex movie, but not quite a vignette movie either. There’s a setup for each scene, and it normally connects the scene to its predecessor while keeping a nicely artistic feel to the entire thing.

Scene 1 - Nyomi Marcella and Mr. Marcus

Marcus starts things out bringing an angel mannequin with pink wings to life in the form of Nyomi. He fondles her a little, leads her off with a leash, and kisses her softly before she gives him a slow and very sensual blowjob. Marcus strips off her wings and goes down to work her over with his tongue and fingers before fucking her from behind. Nyomi also lets Marcus work her over through reverse cowgirl, doggie, and mish before he gives her a great pop on her face.

This is an excellent scene to start things out with. It has great chemistry complete with some very nice vocals that don’t come close to going over the top. The camera work is just as good, and helps to make this a very hot scene. My only complaint here is that you don’t get to see any position changes, but it’s edited well enough that I really couldn’t complain too much.

Scene 2 - Lucy Lee, Mr. Marcus, Sexy Kelana, and Guy DiSilva

Marcus wakes from his dream to find Lucy playing pool in front of him. He throws off her game by trying to get her to use his stick rather than her cue until she lays back on the table and gives him a little tease with her cue. She bends over to tease Marcus, and when he can’t take it any more he buries his bone in her from behind. They move on with a little reverse cowgirl when Guy and Sexy Kelana arrive home. Kelana sucks Guy’s cock in the driveway before they go inside and Guy fucks her from behind on the pool table. The two couples go at it at opposite ends of the pool table missionary style before the girls move down to the same end so that Lucy can suck Marcus while they watch Guy and Sexy Kelana go at it. This is another great scene. DAC does a great job balancing the two couples, and gives it a very nice artistic feel. The couples both have very nice chemistry, and I love how things were kicked up a notch watching each other. Normally I prefer a little partner swapping, but here it’s handled so well that I think it might have actually interfered with the scene. I also liked how the girls had their own personality in the scene. Lucy comes off as a bit more fun, while Sexy Kelana comes off as a bit more passionate. This is a very hot scene.

Scene 3 - Nyomi Marcella, Kimmie Khan, Guy DiSilva, Cole Minah, Darren James, and Mr. Marcus

Guy starts out the third scene leading Kimmie and Nyomi, who are nicely outfitted in offsetting black and red fetishwear, in on chains. He kisses them and lets them suck his cock while Marcus, Cole, and Darren watch and stroke themselves. When Guy gives the girls a facial, Nymoi crawls over to start sucking Darren’s dick while Kimmie crawls over to suck Cole’s cock. They give the guys some great eye contact while sucking them, and each take a second facial before crawling up to work on Marcus with Nyomi finishing off Darren long before Kimmie satisfies Cole. The girls team up on Marcus, and finally work him to a shared facial.

This is yet another very nice scene. Normally oral scenes don’t work too well for me, but DAC gives it a bit of a different feel here that made it unique and interesting. It’s fun and serious at the same time, and the girls both look like they really enjoy sucking cock. I would have liked a little cum swapping or having the girls lick each other’s face clean, but it’s still a very nicely done scene.

Scene 4 - Kimmie Khan and Darren James

Darren starts out the penultimate scene out setting down a bowl of milk for Kimmie, who’s very nicely made up as a cat. She licks it up and then crawls over to Darren to cuddle. She sucks his cock and then turns around to tease him with her pussy and ass. Darren plays with her from behind before going straight to fucking her ass doggie style. This is a nice and hot scene. Kimmie’s makeup job is easily one of the best makeup jobs I’ve seen in a long time, and outdoes a lot of what I’ve seen from the bigger budget feature studios. This isn’t anything close to a unique scene, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it handled as well as DAC does it here. This is another very well done scene.

Scene 5 - Sabrine Maui, Leyla Lei, and Darren James

Sabrine starts out the final scene dancing in front of a mirror while Leyla takes on a hopped up Darren orally. When she’s summoned over to them, Sabrine joins in and then bends over the table with Leyla so Darren can play with them and fuck them from behind. He moves the girls through a little reverse cowgirl before Leyla takes a little reverse cowgirl anal complete with ass to mouth. Leyla moves on with a little doggie anal as Sabrine grabs a dildo for herself that she lets Leyla suck clean after she’s done. The girls finish things up sharing a facial.

This is another nicely done scene. There’s great chemistry between the girls, but Darren’s just kinda there. Normally this would hold the scene back quite a bit for me, and it does here a little, but on the other hand it really fits the scene well. This is yet another well done scene with nice heat and chemistry.

Asia Noir is an excellent Asian feature. DAC is pretty well known for letting his opinions be known on the adult industry, and he definitely shows that he has the skill to back it up with this release. He’s put together a very hot cast here, and there’s plenty of chemistry in every scene. Just as good is the variety of the scenes and the artistic feel, which worked better for me here than in any other artistic all sex feature I’ve seen in a long time. I almost gave this one a perfect rating sexually, but there were just a couple things in the movie that didn’t quite work for me. Even then, the movie is hot enough that it almost earned it anyway. Asia Noir is a very well made artistic Asian interracial fuck flick, and one that I can’t help but highly recommend despite a couple very minor faults.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery contains roughly twenty decent full screen photos and snapshots. Bios, each of which includes a photo and a little personal information, are included for the entire female cast. Trailers are included for the first three installments of Video Team’s United Colors of Ass series. There’s also a behind the scenes featurette and a few commercials.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts over twenty minutes. It’s broken up day by day during the shoot, and does a very nice job identifying the talent as they take the screen so you always know who’s who. There’s plenty of interviews with the cast as well as a lot of fun with DAC around the shoot that makes it all very fun and very enjoyable. You get a lot of personality here from everybody involved, and in the end my only complaint about the featurette is that the video is pretty grainy.

The scenes are hot, the technical aspects well done, and there’s some nice effort put into the extras. This is a very nicely made DVD.

Note to Video Team: It’s nice to see you put some effort into your overall DVDs. If you keep putting them out like this you should be getting a lot more notice than you seem to be receiving.
