Ashlyn Rising Review

OK first off, let me say that I am a huge Ashlyn Gere fan. I've met her on a couple of occasions (OK, strip clubs), and she is extremely nice to her fans.

That being said, this is a fine example of her work; she does NOT hold anything back. If you like Ashlyn Gere, or would like to see her talents showcased, then run (don't walk!) to the nearest website and plunk down your money.

High Points in a nutshell:
Lady Ashlyn Gere > Threesome, G/G and Interracial (see more details below)
Other performers are ok, but not the main focus.

Low Points in a nutshell:
Image quality. It deserves to have been shot on 70MM surround sound ultra-high-definition archival grade stock, but was shot, in all likelihood on video.
Also, her voice gets some kind of distortion effect @ the worst possible time.

Details:

I won't go too deeply into the plot or any lengthy critique of the acting, but take my word for it that there is a plot that can be easily followed.

Ashlyn Gere is quite believable in the opening scene as a woman who has been pressured into a threesome w/ boyfriend Rocco Siffredi (the 3rd party is Steve Colt). Very Intense, particularly the climax. Kinda makes you forget that she's acting. Ashlyn and Rocco are very much into one another.

Other scenes follow that are OK > Ashlyn is convincing when she breaks down and cries in Sean Michaels' arms (plot point).

The sex scenes that follow at Nina Hartley's pad are OK, and I won't go into them here; other actors getting it on quite well.

Nina's character seduces Ashlyn, getting her to open up, lighten up and cheer up (it cheered me up). Great G/G scene; goes down in the history books.

Then you get more sex between secondary characters leading up to the crescendo.

The final scene is a romantic, seductive, and extremely well recorded moment between Ashlyn and Sean Michaels.

Now a comment by yours truly: I have viewed quite a number of interracial scenes, and none of them hold a candle to this one. Now, I admit that I am a bit biased towards Ashlyn, but this one blew me away. She was so into Sean Michaels, and he was so into her, that I nearly wore out the rewind button on the VCR, and later the DVD player (I have both copies and cannot go into details here about the finer differnces).

I lent this movie to a friend for a 3 day weekend. The following Tuesday, he tells me both he and his wife "watched it five times...she could not get enough of Rocco, and I could not get enough of Ashlyn. Outstanding!"

I can live with the faults of the video quality and the recycled Vivid scenes (see it and you will know what I mean), hence the 4.5 star rating. Heck, make it 4.75!
