Review:
Chasing her dreams and fantasies, which include being an 18th century, European princess carrying on a secret love affair with Mozart (Mike Davis), a young, New Jersey girl and virtuoso pianist (Asia Carrera) discovers that her move out to California is anything but easy. Indeed, instead of finding employment, she runs into nothing but rejection and people looking to take advantage of her. Fortunately, she does make a friend out of another struggling artist (Alex Sanders), and while she may or may not find fortune and fame, she at least has a chance at love...one way or the other. Such is the case in "Appassionata", an overall-good, 1997 release from Adam & Eve and directors Bud Lee and Asia herself. When it was first released, this one was touted as a big budget flick both written by Ms. Carrera and showcasing her well-known piano-playing skills. Indeed, it is all of those things, and the storyline that results is both engrossing and relatable. Flipping between both the modern day and also 18th century Europe--the former of which generally works out much better--this is also certainly a unique production. Its only downside, really, is that its sexual elements are--at times--fairly standard, which isn't often aided by the costuming and overbearing music, as noted in the body of the review. Likewise, the action generally could have been captured better visually, as well, as it bears a strong resemblance to typical, 1990's adult fare...which often felt cookie-cutter and lacking in attention to erotic detail. Regardless, this one is still a good watch, particularly for those interested in Ms. Carrera--a true star of yesteryear--and/or romantic features offering a touch of the different.

In terms of the sex, Scene One (modern day) finds Alex Sanders in a pickle out at his campground, as two ladies, the brunette Holly Body and the blonde Johnni Black, both big-busted, confront him for two-timing them. Fortunately for Sanders--and his own pickle--the women are hornier than the are angry, and it doesn't take long for them to get to work on each other...and also upon Alex himself. There's oral, vaginal, and girl-on-girl aplenty, and Black takes it in the pooper, as the former Army girl was known to do. A cum-shot on Holly's pussy, well-coiffed bush, and tummy--as well as Johnni's face--finishes off this sexy, little number. In Scene Two (the past), an 18th century bachelor party / orgy of sorts unfolds out upon the royal estate grounds. Laura Palmer, Roxanne Hall, Raylene, and Liza Harper go to work on Steve Hatcher, John Decker, Jonathan Morgan, and Alec Metro. The action is of the oral, vaginal, and--at least in one case (Liza Harper)--anal variety and, while the ladies and premise are fairly hot, the sex itself ends up being fairly standard. Perhaps, in part, this is due to the wigs and makeup obscuring the women's faces and essentially erasing any individual personality that might have otherwise come out during the sequence. Or, perhaps it's the synthesized, classical music that plays over top, largely drowning out any moans and groans that the performers may have made. Perhaps, it's both. Pop-shots on pussies, asses, and faces close out this carnal encounter. Scene Three (modern day) has the luckiest rich dude in the world--Mike Horner--hanging out at his pool with his bevy of live-in "artists", including the likes of Laura Palmer, Roxanne Hall, Sindee Coxx, Charlie, Leanna Heart, Brittany Andrews, Raylene, Avalon, and Liza Harper . Of course, they're all nude, and there's plenty of hot, lesbian action going on...all as Horner gets his dick wet with Leanna Heart (oral, vaginal). This one is punctuated by various plot elements and also has music playing heavily over it. The fun closes out with Mike eventually unloading on Heart's tits. In Scene Four (modern day), Asia Carrera and Alex Sanders sate their unrequited feelings for one another with a vaginal romp in the back of his van. He takes her in a handful of positions before popping on her backside. Scene Five (the past) pairs up Asia with Mozart (Mike Davis), who sweeps her away from a harsh reality and into his bed. A sensual, oral and vaginal affair unfolds, as Carrera's fantasy plays itself out in style. This is certainly a steamy segment, and it caps off with an ejaculation on her tummy and bush.
