The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are excellent. The audio is clear, well balanced, and I don’t think I heard a single background noise. The video is every bit as good. It’s well lit and extremely clear. I don’t think I noticed any camera shake and there’s so few soft focus blurs that they aren’t even worth mentioning.

Music: There’s a little music, but it’s very different and fits the feature well. It has a bit of a techno or urban feel, and is balanced almost perfectly with the rest of the audio.

Menus: The menus are fairly unimpressive. The main menu has a little animation, but is mostly a shot of the boxcover with a little minor animation thrown in. The chapter menu is very unimpressive, and lets you choose a scene based on a clip of each scene which is too small to even have an idea which scene you’re picking unless you’ve seen the movie a few times already.

The Feature

Jonni Darko goes after the obvious with Anal Trainer. Every scene concentrates on anal, and in some the pussy is completely ignored except for the girl rubbing it while getting cornholed. You don’t have to worry about any kind of lead-in or plot in any of the scenes, just sit back and enjoy the anal action!

Scene 1 - Ander Page and Ben English

Ander starts things off in stockings, a garter belt, and a furry piece of lingerie that reminds me of flappers from the twenties. He seems to just lay there rather than getting into it like the other guys and trying to push the girls. It’s still a good anal scene, it just doesn’t compare with the others here. Due to the softer nature of this scene, I think this might have worked much better as an opening scene rather than a closer.

I’ll admit that when I first heard of Jonni Darko, I just kept right on going without really giving his movies a passing glance. Digital Sin seemed like it’d been in a holding pattern for the last bit that I looked at them, and seemed like they just wanted to put out average at best features on cookie cutter DVDs which took no effort to put together. I heard about this series and just kinda grunted and shook my head at what I thought was somebody trying to cash in on Rocco’s Animal Trainer series and kept walking on by. Then I heard a little talk about Jonni doing things right. Well, there’s almost always a little talk like that when a new director comes along, so I didn’t pay him too much mind. Heck, he even joined the Adult DVD Talk Forums without me paying much attention to him. Then I had a friend who’s opinion I trust tell me that he’s really taking Digital Sin to the next level and that Digital Sin was turning their DVDs around, and more importantly, I heard that John “Buttman” Stagliano was very impressed with what Jonni was doing. With that, I had to check him out, and boy am I glad I did! Anal Trainer 1 is hands down the best all sex feature I’ve seen come out of Digital Sin. Ever. Jonni has assembled a great cast here who look like they’re having a great time and who put plenty of effort into the scenes. He also has a great eye behind the camera. I don’t think half of the movies I watch leave me completely satisfied with the camera work. I always want it tweaked a little here or there or a different balance between the close ups and the distance shots. Jonni nailed it perfectly for my tastes. Every scene is a winner here, and I’m not sure how anybody could watch this movie in just one sitting. Anal Trainer is amazing, and anybody who loves anal sex should keep plenty of space on their bookshelf for this episode and the rest of the series if Jonni can keep them coming out anywhere close to as good as this one.

The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for nine of Digital Sin’s features, ten of their My Plaything titles, and fourteen of their all sex lines. The photo gallery contains about two dozen very nice looking snapshots and full screen photos. You can advance through them at your own speed or they’ll advance on their own roughly every five seconds. There’s also company and website information and a behind the scenes featurette.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about six and a half minutes. Jonni Darko starts out the featurette talking about what he’s aiming for with this series before moving into talking with Brooke Balentyne and Nacho Vidal. He asks a few other cast members a few questions about what they’re looking for in the movie, anal action, and ass to mouth. It’s a very short behind the scenes featurette, but for its length it’s done pretty well. The most amazing scene about the featurette, however, is that it actually exists on a Digital Sin DVD. This is the only thing of it’s kind I’ve seen, and with it being the only thing like it I’ve seen recently, I can’t help but wonder if somebody got canned at Digital Sin for spending money on trying to actually make their overall DVDs competitive with what other companies are putting out.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many Digital Sin DVDs can be found online for between $15 and $29 with many stores offering them for around $20. This one’s well worth the money! Every scene is a winner here, and the movie doesn’t slow down at all the entire time. The technical aspects are extremely well done, and there’s even a little behind the scenes in the extra. With a little more effort towards the extras, this would have been a five star DVD, but is still a great DVD that every anal fan needs to check out!

Note to Digital Sin: It would be nice to see you drop a few of the trailers and stick in either a longer behind the scenes featurette or a bonus scene or two from some of your other new series.
