Initial Expectations: Although this series hasn’t really impressed me, I’ve been happy enough with Jonni Darko that I can’t pass it by.

Initial Reaction: It’s not quite perverse, but it is nicely done and possibly my favorite installment of this series so far.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty good. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I don’t think I heard a single background noise through the movie. The video is also nicely done for the most part. Almost all of it is nicely lit and free of grain. That isn’t to say that it’s perfect, however. From approx. 33:40 to 34:39, 38:12 to 39:33, and 43:32 to 43:51 the audio disappears. It looks a bit like somebody was trying to scan through the movie a little faster, as it doesn’t happen for entire chapters, and it ended up being on the copy sent to the replicators. Thankfully this only happens in one scene, but it’s enough to bring down my thoughts on the entire disc.

Music: There’s music through most of the movie. It’s normally nicely done and helps the scenes out very well. It doesn’t overpower things, and meshed with the scenes so well that five minutes after the movie was done I really couldn’t tell you what it was like. All I could remember was that it fit the scenes well and helped them out.

Menus: The menus are okay. The main menu has a little animation, but isn’t overly impressive for some reason. I’m pretty sure that most of the reason is because the picture for the main menu is Alicia Rhodes from the cover of Anal Perversions 2. Thankfully they got the title and the background scene right. Maybe it’s just me, but when a company can’t get the right picture on their main menu I don’t have a lot of faith in the job they’re going to do for the rest of the DVD. The chapter menu is also very generic, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number. These are easily some of the worst menus I’ve seen from Digital Sin in quite a while.

The Feature

Jonni Darko’s back with another helping of Anal Perversions. As usual there’s no plot, and the girls don’t get time to do much of a tease before getting on with the anal action. Yeah, it’s a simple formula, but with Jonni behind the camera you know it’s going to look good and be hot.

Scene 1 - Katsumi, Steve Holmes, and Steve Hooper

Katsumi comes into a room and sits down on a chair to start things out. She barely has time to show off before Steve Hooper sits on a ledge in front of her with a cock to suck while Steve Holmes starts working her ass over a little orally and pulling out her large string of anal beads. This is an excellent scene to open things up with, and had me thinking of this installment of Anal Perversions was going to easily be the best one yet.

Scene 2 - Selena Silver and Mr. Pete

This is a nutbuster of a scene. Selena and Mr. Pete both put in a lot of energy and have great chemistry between them. I love how Selena maintains control of the scene, and her outfit immediately grabbed the attention of both my heads (and if anybody wants to see more of it, make sure to check out Selena Silver at Home Vol. 1). This scene doesn’t get any nastier than ass to mouth, but Selena’s dominating Mr. Pete was just different enough that I’ll let it work for me as the anal perversion in this scene. The only complaint I can have with this scene is the audio disappearing several times during it.

Scene 3 - Brittaney Star, Alberto Rey, and Mick Blue

I was really hoping that this scene would add a little variety by having a little DP action in it, and when it didn’t occur I felt a little let down.

Scene 4 - Lena Juliette, Manuel Ferrara, and Mick Blue

Here I wasn’t sure which guy was getting luckier much of the time, and that interfered with the scene a little for me.

Scene 5 - Gia Paloma, Benjamin Brat, and Mr. Pete

Gia starts things out teasing the camera and swinging around a large set of blue anal beads. She’s quickly joined by Ben and Mr. Pete, who give her a cock in the mouth and help her with her toys. This is a great scene to end things with. I can’t say that I find Gia overly attractive, but her enthusiasm and energy really make this scene a winner. She gives plenty of great vocals and really looks to be into the anal action. She also seems to be into rougher sex as much or more than the guys, as there are several times when she seems to be encouraging them to get rougher with her. I can be hit or miss with rougher sex, and here it was a huge hit as there was never any doubt about whether or not Gia was into it. This is a great scene to end things with.

Once again Jonni Darko delivers a great anal movie, and once again I’m just slightly disappointed. My disappointment isn’t in the movie so much as that I expected nastier sex with a title like Anal Perversions that I didn’t see too much of. By now I didn’t expect anything too nasty, and because of it I think this is my favorite episode out of the series. Once again Jonni has assembled a very nice cast, and in addition to looking great they all take to the anal naturally. They action flows nicely in every scene, and as usual Jonni captures it all beautifully. He has a very artistic eye, but it never interferes with capturing the sexuality of the scene. Jonni’s camera work and the editing easily raise the movie up a notch from where many other directors might have ended up, and have made him one of the directors I look forward to most out there. Anal Perversions 3 is a great anal movie, just as long as you don’t go in expecting anything overly nasty or perverse.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery contains about twenty two very nice looking snapshots and full screen photos. There’s also company info, website information, a bonus scene, and a behind the scenes featurette.

Amazingly, the behind the scenes featurette lasts over forty minutes! It’s nicely broken down by star, and mixes up interviews with shooting the scenes. You get to see plenty of the star as a person as well as how Jonni shoots the scenes. The only person missing here is Gia Paloma, and at forty minutes already I can’t say that I was disappointed to see somebody left out. It’s a very nicely done behind the scenes featurette, and I think my biggest complaint with it is that it’s all one chapter rather than being broken up so that it’s easier to skip to the star you want to see.

Bonus Scene - Becca Bratt, Mr. Pete, and Tristan Segal

The bonus scene comes from I Know You’re Watching 3. Becca starts out talking to the camera about how she needs to get fucked, but just one cock won’t be enough for her this time. Currently, many Digital Sin DVDs can be found online for between $15 and $29 with many stores offering them for around $20. If you’re a fan of anal, this one’s well worth the low end. The sex is all very nicely done and has a great anal focus. The technical aspects have a few problems, but there’s some nice effort put into the extras. This isn’t a perfect DVD due to a bit of sloppiness on Digital Sin’s part, but it is well worth checking out.

Note to Digital Sin: Please give whoever did the quality control on this one a swift kick in the nuts. The DVDs that I’ve seen coming out of you for the last six months to a year have been the best I’ve ever seen from you, but at the same time I can’t help but remember the horseshit job you did for about a year and a half before that. Your job on the main menu and the quality control during the second scene here brought back quite a few memories of the dark time before your current DVDs.
