Since hooking up with Larry Flynt, Pierre Woodman seems to be producing more product that ever. Not content with continuing the Superfuckers series, he's helming the Hustler XXX line and, naturally, releasing the glossy features from glamorous locations that he's renowned for. As if that wasn't enough of a strain on the Woodman fan's wallet, here's yet another series - Anal Intensive. From the crass cover blurb, we can presume that the modus operandi of this line will be to go straight to the a-hole. So does this mean a new direction for Woodman, new styles or innovative action? What do you reckon?

Barbara
Blonde, tanned and very pretty, Barbara is a keen subject for Woodman's anal exam. Along with Ania's scene, this is the best one here, with better camera work really mixing up the close-ups, body shots and facial reactions to good effect.

Overall
Anal Intensive 2 is done with typical competence; the girls are all quite attractive and perform with energy. But by the standards of today's anal excesses, this is perhaps not hard enough to satisfy the more extreme end of the scale, while it's really not suited to anyone seeking a little extra with their relentless screwing - for example, to my taste there's a lack of character and personality. Frankly, you get the impression that Pierre Woodman can knock off this sort of material in his sleep, and all too often scenes slipped by and I was left thinking, "Is that it?"

Maybe if you don't watch a lot of anal-oriented porn, or don't know just how good contemporary porn can be, Anal Intensive 2 might just seem like the state of the art, but otherwise I think that it is likely to disappoint. With more of the same kind of scenes you'll see in Superfuckers or Hustler XXX, there's nothing new in Anal Intensive 2 - that's probably no surprise. One could argue that with the virtual elimination of anything more than the briefest of occurrences of vaginal sex, you're actually getting less for your money!

DVD Comments
Like a lot of Woodman's movies on DVD for Private, the colours on this disc are rather dull and the contrast is often lacking. Bright areas appear too bright, shadows too dark. The overall picture quality seems to vary from scene to scene, but generally it's good but not top class. The sound is fine but the cheesy metal soundtrack is overly loud and some dialogue seems muffled and needs to be louder - that is if you are keen to hear Woodman calling some non-French-speaking girl a "chienne" or "salope" for the 100th time!

The menus are very well arranged and presented - the sub-menu for accessing parts of a scene through sub-chapters is a really handy feature - and the selection of extras is not bad. There's a photo gallery, of course, trailers for many of the titles in the Hustler range, and an interesting but rather indulgent interview clip with Woodman, though I suppose you can't expect anything less on his own movie.
