The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are okay. The audio is clear and nicely balanced. The video is decently lit but disappointing. It has a pixelated look that gets worse with motion, and there’s some ghosting that also shows up. Basically the video reminded me of internet video rather than DVD quality.

Menus: The menu is okay, and blends a blurry still with a little initial animation. The chapter menu lets you choose a location based on a three small clips from each scene.

The Feature

I’m not sure that this scene was even half done when I started wondering why I should even care about it.

Scene 2 - Katja Kassin and Barry Scott

Katja puts some good energy and vocals in, but the chemistry in the scene never really grabbed me and the scene seems like it’s caught in the same formula as the previous scene. This is the most boring Katja scene I think I’ve ever seen.

Scene 3 - Cindy Crawford and Van Damage

Scene 4 - Roxetta and Joe Friday

This is easily one of the best scenes in the movie.

Scene 5 - Cherrie Rose and Marco Banderas

I’m not much of a fan of Marco and can’t say that I really looked forward to this scene after three duds earlier in the movie, but Cherrie and Marco finish Anal Addicts 22 up quite nicely.

Anal Addicts 22 was almost a complete waste of time. The chemistry was frequently lacking in the scenes with the vocals feeling like the girls were being pushed beyond what they were really feeling. The camera work normally felt like whoever was behind it wasn’t into the action, and the scenes were further hurt by editing which also didn’t seem like whoever was in charge didn’t care much about it. If those things aren’t enough to hurt the sex, the positions and direction normally finished it off. I don’t mind a bit of vaginal action being mixed into an anal movie, especially when it’s halfway treated like foreplay or a natural progression towards anal, but when three scenes in a row go from a quick blowjob through vaginal doggie and cowgirl before finally getting to the anal in reverse cowgirl the scenes get so redundant that I’m not sure how anybody can get through them without a remote control! It’s an even bigger crime to do such things to scenes when they involve solid performers like Katja Kassin and Cindy Crawford, who came off seeming like they flushed more talent out with their pre-scene enema than the director, cameraman, and editor had put together! Thankfully Roxetta and Cherrie Rose came along with something different or I’d probably be getting really nasty about how much Anal Addicts 22 sucked. The two of them were the entire redeeming factor for the movie. They and their partners brought plenty of chemistry and enjoyment to their scenes, and combined with a few different positions to mix things up with actually managed to draw me back into the movie. Anal Addicts 22 is the only installment I’ve seen from this series, and leaves me wondering why anybody would even want a second dose.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Northstar’s DVDs can be found online for between about $15 and $25, with a few stores offering them for under $20. There’s no way I would even consider spending that amount of this one. Heck, with the below average camera work and technical aspects, boring and redundant sex in three of the five scenes, and virtually no effort put into the extras, I’m not sure I could even recommend renting this one unless you’re an extreme fan of at least two of the stars. Pass this one by!

Note to Northstar: A little effort towards your technical aspects and your extras would go a long way. So would a bit of creativity for your movies. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel for your sex, but mixing things up a bit would sure be nice!
